a cars frame are what protect you in a crash not the body panels or in this case fabric. body panels have no purpose but to make the car more aerodynamic and attractive to the consumer.

How does one wash this "skin"? Peel it off and toss it in the washing machine on gentle cycle? Also, how is the fabric repaired / replaced if torn or damaged? I'm guessing you just peel it off and replace it (for a tidy sum). :-) I would like to see this concept applied to EVs (power sources re-upped by wind of course).
