Okay. Not to be a pessimist but I hope this team has more to offer than just good looks and toned bodies. I'd just like to ask, is majority of the team half-Pinoys or even non-Pinoys? How come? I firmly believe there are a lot of able-bodied full Pinoys who can tackle, score tries, scrum, and do conversions when properly scouted. Still, I wish I see this team compete in the Rugby World Cup in my lifetime. Also, I hope they really love the sport and be genuine rugby players, not entertainers.

It's not just about Azkals, but they should be fair. Rugby is a very famous game and they deserve to have the support that Azkals have. Never mind the looks and the bod, Volcanoes are way good-looking than Azkals, it just happen that Azkals came in first to the public. WE should support both teams. :)
Volcanoes is currently in Div 1 of Asian Rugby but aims to be included in the Asian5--- that's the top 5 Asian team that can qualify for the Rugby World Cup. Just last May Volcanoes tasted their 1st defeat care off South Korea, the number 53 in the world compare to the Philippine Volcanoes who are still un-ranked. They almost won during that match but Korea was able to score in the last minute. This just proves that the Volcanoes can be at par with world class rugby team...
They have to watch out for powerhouse Japan, best in Asia. South Korea wants to be the best too, and so the Philippines has huge challenges to undertake. Also consider Oceania's best: Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, NZ, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Tonga...
@windiesman This is the reason why they agreed to do this endorsement, to gather support and raise funds. To be able for them to train in a world class standard they need more funds and for a group of 30 athletes plus trainers who doesn't earn millions of dollars that's not possible. Every purchase of Volcano Bench Calendar portions of it goes to that fund. BTW, I'm not in any way connected to the Volcanoes or Bench... I'm just a fan trying to extend my support as I hope you all will too!!

A lot of underwear ads are even provocative and sexually suggestive in nature. Or maybe you're referring to a catalog-style ad that male model would just stand in a plain background? So this concept of considering our culture, our Filipino culture, as a measure for regulating billboard art material doesn't hold ground with me.

Okay. Not to be a pessimist but I hope this team has more to offer than just good looks and toned bodies. I'd just like to ask, is majority of the team half-Pinoys or even non-Pinoys? How come? I firmly believe there are a lot of able-bodied full Pinoys who can tackle, score tries, scrum, and do conversions when properly scouted. Still, I wish I see this team compete in the Rugby World Cup in my lifetime. Also, I hope they really love the sport and be genuine rugby players, not entertainers.

Volcanoes is currently in Div 1 of Asian Rugby but aims to be included in the Asian5--- that's the top 5 Asian team that can qualify for the Rugby World Cup. Just last May Volcanoes tasted their 1st defeat care off South Korea, the number 53 in the world compare to the Philippine Volcanoes who are still un-ranked. They almost won during that match but Korea was able to score in the last minute. This just proves that the Volcanoes can be at par with world class rugby team...

To be able for them to train in a world class standard they need more funds and for a group of 30 athletes plus trainers who doesn't earn millions of dollars that's not possible. @vonchirole Filipino men would only feel inferior if they feel insecure and think less of themselves!!!! Secure, confident Filipino men, sans weight, ethnicity, height and looks, would not feel inferior to these players. Instead, they would cheer for them.... and for those men who feels inferior? It's them who have problem and personality issues, not the Phil Volcano players and so we can't do anything about that!

@vonchirole Why should one's ethnicity be a basis of one's Filipino-ness? Am I less of a Filipino if I have Spanish and Chinese blood? Would it be logical to say that none of us are actually Filipinos because none of our ancestors were originally from this island chain we call the Philippines today? Let's give our rugby guys a break. For one thing, even if they are part foreign, they also have Filipino blood. And they CHOSE to play for the Philippines. You are what you choose to be.
