we bought the shells off the internet, and just threw in some random fireworks, added some black powder, and just kinda improvised alot. This was our first try at this so we really didn't measure alot of it out. I would say there was about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of black powder for just the lift charge.

those would be called zips or zingers. They are like minature ground blooms that fly, They are awesome.
