I like this song very much and he didn't do any justice to it at all!! I liked very much his vulnerable start but I thought that by 1:04 it was enough and some strength in his performance and voice was required and he just stayed too soft and didn't do anything at all for the song (ha his expression at 1:17). I was even picturing him in karaoke night in a bar being drunk or something. Result: a lackluster rendition. I thought other contestants deserved his spot... (ehem... CARLY!!!)

After viewing season eight,and the other seasons, imust say that American Idol can not and will never find another "Jason Castro", he is so unique and is one of a kind, I jusy simply adore him and his voice is so special, you can feel his heart beat, he is the best, he did"t have to win the title, it woul be easier for him to became a great artist because he sings from his soul, just looking at Jason"s eyes can blow you away to an enchanting world, love Jason Castro.|....

I didnt actually see all of the season in question, but what I gather of the guy, is that he very well might have gotten fed up or disillusioned about the "product" he was becoming a part of and figured he would lame it and get out in time, and still get the publicity. Otherwise its quite strange the way his performance level just plummeted in a few weeks time .. I think he at the end did not want to be a part of the franchise anymore.

Jason looked sad in this video because he already knew that he was going home soon. So he was preparing his fans that he already had enough exposure and he wanted out with Randy Jackson always putting him down ....Now after a year has gone, Jason can now be a true Artist far exceeding David Cook and David A....waiting for your CD Jason.......
This was the ONLY performance I didn't love. Jason was so ill AND had also lost his spark at this point from dealing with all that craaapp. Although his vocals sounded gorgeous (tho he can sing a squillion times better), I think it came across slightly depressing and sad. But I know I wouldn't have been able to perform it as well as he did considering the circumstances. Neil is wonderful btw. As is Jase. He's doing amazing on tour. I can't see him performing songs like this now lol.
The kid had a fever of 104. Very impressive performance. He was battling with his sickness as well as a ton of emotions courtsey of the thoroughly embarassing judges-if you can even call them that.

Ive listened to a couple and they're fantastic, i had no idea he was such a talented song writter, but it doesnt surprise me. The more i listen and learn about him the more i love the guy.
Hi Italgirl08..I see u r still out here promoting our guy. His strong sense of faith is his most prominent feature. So many of his personal pictures are ones of Jason doing community service and working with kids and all. He is a good role model for kids today, and that is rare. That is why I get so frustrated with the haters who mindlessly label him a stoner. Anyway ,the best revenge is to be successful. So Jason will pevail in the end, without compromising his integrity.
I lve this kid and his performances. Decades ago there was Dylan, years later came Diamond, now comes JC. He is wonderful. The judges underestimate him and his fans. Just watch; his star is rising.

Jason has a very unique talent and should be in the top 3, at least. The tone of his voice is amazing and it doesn't hurt that he is adorable but the singing is what makes him stand out. He has a great future ahead of him. Watch for it!!
it kills me to hear the judges give him such negative criticism. he is such a sweetheart and always handles their comments negative or positive, with such grace and modesty. he may not have the range of "the davids" but his voice is soothing and i could listen to him sing all night. whether he wins the show or not, i know he will have a long career ahead of him.

hes mentioned it before, hes a member of his church and im pretty sure he helps out with alot of projects for the less fortunate. You'll also notice he always wears a cross necklace around his neck and if u look at his guitar, he has the christian symbol for "trinity" on it. You can tell hes a very respectful, genuine person, and i think his christianity has a lot to do with it. Such a beautiful soul.

He is still here because there are many people who really like his style! I don't personally like rap, but many people do. It's a style difference. And, within this genre, Jason is one of the best!
This guy is pretty good, not the best. The hard part to take about this guy is that he reminds me of a young John Travolta playing the role of a stupid guy(like Vinnie Barbarino). I loved this song just the way Jason sang it. His voice is beautiful and he always sings with such emotion. I don't know what performance the judges were watching, but I imagine they had their comments prepared in advance and couldn't change them.

Jason is being shafted. This was better and more sensitively performed than by Neil Diamond himself. Jason is not "competing" like the two Davids- he is just being who he is.The way the judges attack him - would be the same way they would attack Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Jim Croce and even Neil Diamond himself. Either you like the voice or you don't. He is the ONLY contestant who doesn't scream lyrics.
Paula's faux pas showing that her comments were scripted is just another example of how the producers are looking to direct the voting. Although; since the voting results are not being released I guess they really don't need to direct the voting too much as they can come up with whatever voting numbers they like!

How else to explain his recent drop in polls not only behind David Cook (who appears to be a great artist by comparison) but also, for this week anyway, Syesha Mercado. (Check out Dial Idol.) Archie is earnest and dull, a deadly combination. If he doesn't put me to sleep, he makes me wish I were unconscious.

The show has become a farce. The Judges are obvioiusly positioning and promoting the two Davids. There are so many shady things going on to make sure the Davids are the final 2. Last week the Judges didn't mention or point out that David A forgot/missed some of the words.
Also- why did the AI producers go back on their agreement to make the voting results public? Who is auditing the voting and why is it not public record in a show that is supposed to be about public voting?

Jason slaughtered 'Sept Morn', it was my favorite song by Neil and Jason was horrible and it was actually painful to listen to him try to sing it!I almost cried. Jason has a very unique talent and should be in the top 3, at least. The tone of his voice is amazing and it doesn't hurt that he is adorable but the singing is what makes him stand out. He has a great future ahead of him. Watch for it!!

it kills me to hear the judges give him such negative criticism. he is such a sweetheart and always handles their comments negative or positive, with such grace and modesty. he may not have the range of "the davids" but his voice is soothing and i could listen to him sing all night. whether he wins the show or not, i know he will have a long career ahead of him.

hes mentioned it before, hes a member of his church and im pretty sure he helps out with alot of projects for the less fortunate. You'll also notice he always wears a cross necklace around his neck and if u look at his guitar, he has the christian symbol for "trinity" on it. You can tell hes a very respectful, genuine person, and i think his christianity has a lot to do with it. Such a beautiful soul.

i'm gonna get get bashed for this but..... ok. I HATE Jason's singing. these last two weeks he has done awful, and he keeps getting saved by his fanbase. Carly gets sent home while this kid stays? If big vocals were the only talent or gift needed to be big "popular" star, we never would have the likes of Sting,James Taylor,Rod Stewart,Mick Jager,and so many other "popular singers". I was a big fan of the Davids but now bored. Simon said of Jason "some people just have"It" & you have it". Like alot of us, I would rather hear a CD of Jason's, all day long. His voice/sound is full of feeling and compassion,unique and great!

Daivd is more mature? he acts like a surprised 9 year old every time they pay him a compliment as if he doesnt know theyre gonna over praise him.Jason has been practically the only one to take the judges criticism gracefully with a smile EVERY time. The only reason he gave him that look was cuz he already knew he was gonna bash him cuz randys only purpose (just like the rest of them) is to over praise the davids. & after paula screwed him over that night i'd do alot more than give them a "look"

This guy is pretty good, not the best. The hard part to take about this guy is that he reminds me of a young John Travolta playing the role of a stupid guy(like Vinnie Barbarino). I loved this song just the way Jason sang it. His voice is beautiful and he always sings with such emotion. I don't know what performance the judges were watching, but I imagine they had their comments prepared in advance and couldn't change them.

Jason is being shafted. This was better and more sensitively performed than by Neil Diamond himself. Jason is not "competing" like the two Davids- he is just being who he is.The way the judges attack him - would be the same way they would attack Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Jim Croce and even Neil Diamond himself. Either you like the voice or you don't. He is the ONLY contestant who doesn't scream lyrics.

Paula's faux pas showing that her comments were scripted is just another example of how the producers are looking to direct the voting. The show has become a farce. The Judges are obvioiusly positioning and promoting the two Davids. There are so many shady things going on to make sure the Davids are the final 2. Last week the Judges didn't mention or point out that David A forgot/missed some of the words.
Also- why did the AI producers go back on their agreement to make the voting results public? Who is auditing the voting and why is it not public record in a show that is supposed to be about public voting?

I can't believe he wouldn't have sung "Red Red Wine" or "Girl, You'll be a Woman Soon" if you had even realized they were Neil Diamond songs.
