actually, the truth is, DMC3 was reboot and so does DMC4. Reuben said himself in an interview. That is why there's so many difference in DMC, DMC2 with DMC3, DMC4 especially the timeline. as for the DmC, it's a parallel universe.

They guess and assume poorly representing horomonal level leaving an imbalance in the character's personality. Japanese anime is starting to do this as well but les preachy with it. @halfbreed1426 The reason why Dante is liked so much is because of how rounded he is, in some cases he may be 1dimentional but only because thats all he needs to be in most cases. He's confident, doesn't care about what people think of him because he knows he can kick their ass anyway, he knows how to have a good time living to the fullest. He does have some sad emotions (DMC3) but never clings to them. He's cocky but not a douchebag. He is a more realistic older teen model.

for work in progress it doesnt look like crap, the music is nice and i cant wait to hear more of it. I hope Dante's corny one liners are gone for good. He's always been emo looking but now he has a punk rock feel. The gameplay looks like it has evolved even further and Dante seems to swing his weapon in a more realistic way, showing the same combos being pulled off with either hand.

See how pissed are most Devil May Cry fans and pros, the gameplay engine wasn't the Unreal Engine (back me up if Im wrong), that means that most techniques used by pros (not known by most casual players) will not be there. When I first played dmc it remind me of ninja gaiden, but different at the same time, had a way better plot in my taste anyway. If you ask me if they wanted to team up with some one it should have been team ninja, with of course capcom plot's and characters. I thought they would have focus on nero and bring back vergil, let them work as a team against an old boss like mundus with his team of bad dues or something new with cutting out all the secrets with nero and the happs on vegil from part 1.
As a person who's hobby is to write stories, I can tell you that the story-plot and the main character's personality have to work together in some way that's interesting, and the story goal is achieved somehow. What we're seeing here is a guy with guns, a sword and half-angel half demon body just hacking and slashing through whatever story Tameem says he has for us. From right now, I can't say it's going to suck completely, but if it has this soulless punk, mark my words: It will suck. Period.
I'm not sure if you've commented on the design update that was revealed in August's new screenshots, but they've tweaked new-Dante somewhat considerably and it's in the very least better-looking than it was.
I'm okay with the new enemies, they may look more like undead humans than demons but you can't blame them for for that after five games. What I don't get, is that they absolutely insist on changing Dante's look, which is as unnecessary as making a sci-fi Elder Scrolls game.
And why base the DMC movie on this, when you know like 95% of your fans want it based on DMC 1, 3 or 4?
And most importantly, why won't you listen when we ask you to stay true to the franchise? It's a fair request.

DMC2...is incomplete, I don't think I have to explain..but It had the right idea..just didn't get executed well, he had development, he had power, he had attitude, he matrued, but there wasn't enough there, cut-scenes, gameplay (smooth mind you) and dialoge to show it clearly. I'll bet, had it taken an other year of work, it could have been one of the best damn dmcs out there. Which finally brings me to this reboot.

as far as the 30fps to 60fps check this out: The goal of motion pictures is not to recreate reality, it's not even to show reality. I want to suspend your disbelief and make you forget about yourself and your life and just be in the moment of the film. By not showing enough visual information, we force the brain into filling in the gaps... it draws you in even more. It's part of how you let go to the point where you can laugh or cry or feel tense or afraid or elated. that makes sense to me.

I agree with this guy. This new Dante is an alternative Dante which is a bad thing if you don't keep all the traditional aspects of the old Dante. I'm not like a fag like the other guys who care about his hair and appearance (I could get used to his emo appearance believe or not) but the gameplay isn't anything like the other games. At times, a few changes can be good but this was too far.
Ninja Theory may be unprofessional, but Capcom's been pretty much a letdown lately (not counting their Street Figher/MVC related stuff. Which was great).

@MRSTFUful Well my main concern, the combat (though it's going to be at 30 fps) is pretty much going to be entirely handled by Capcom. The first time Capcom did something like that was in Street Fighter EX, which turned out great, although it was an alternate-reality SF game made by an outside developer.
On multiple occasions, Ninja Theory and Capcom have stated their respect for the DMC series, and they're trying hard to make a good game.
I've been saying this since the motherfucking beginning. I'm not the biggest DMC fan, but I still love the series, and I actually had a few good ideas of my own for the direction it could go in. Now, I wasn't expecting this game to be anything the way I envisioned it, that's just plain unrealistic, but it doesn't even live up to some basic expectations. Basic character traits, basic story, basic gameplay, even basic design are ALL WRONG. And the only thing I heard was "we don't care"? :/

Eziekiel on the Capcom Unity forums needs to see these videos. He's one of these pro-reboot fans who tries to argue with the original fans and say things like "why do you hate the trailer? Don't post links to other forum topics, tell me here etc." and when people do tell him their reasons, he says "give the game a chance, it will be amazing! blah blah blah." He is a full blown hypocrite like so many pro DmC fans, who can't say why they like it other than "I'll give it a chance, it looks cool"

Maybe they'll do what Konami is doing with MGS HD and release it on 360 two, considering how DMC 4 was on 360 and PC. Ninja Theory has stripped away all the things that made Dante who he is,1: he doesn't smoke, the only vices he has are eating pizza and strawberry sundaes. 2: Dante is not emo/gothic/suicidal/whatever you want to call it, he's an adrenaline junkie but at the same time knows how to keep his cool. 3: those clothes are WAY too tight, he don't have any room for his balls to breathe, 4: i want to play as DANTE, not Tameem Antionades

It think its just Capcom America that's fucking the game up, not Capcom in general. Plus Dante discovered devil trigger in DMC3: Dante's awakening, hence the title, it how he first started his job. The fans are not professionals, the fans aren't being paid to be fans. So being professional is not their problem. They were civil and were ignored. They started yelling which got Capcom's/NT's attention (which should tell you something about the company, fans shouldn't have to yell to get their attention) They made fun of fans afterwards. Fans then tried being civil again, and were censored/banned. Both companies has brought this on themselves.

Actually, fans tried to be respectful about it not too long ago and were banned from Capcom forums. With no cursing or flying off the handle, the Capcom community talked with Svensson and once they got the best of him (mind you, talking civil) he got mad and got people banned. Saying this game will now cater to only those who like it now and nobody else. Tameem came out early saying and I quote, "I don't care" when regarding the fans. So there was no room for negotiation.

I'm fine with this being a prequel to 3. Maybe they do screw up with the graphics and battle style. In the end, Capcom will know to blame Ninja Theory, then give us a proper DMC5.
It's hard to say how I feel, because they won't give us anything definitive. That's not cool at all. The less we know, the less we can tell them what we do or don't like. I think that's the best way to say all of this.

actually, the truth is, DMC3 was reboot and so does DMC4. Reuben said himself in an interview. That is why there's so many difference in DMC, DMC2 with DMC3, DMC4 especially the timeline. as for the DmC, it's a parallel universe.

@halfbreed1426 The reason why Dante is liked so much is because of how rounded he is, in some cases he may be 1dimentional but only because thats all he needs to be in most cases. He's confident, doesn't care about what people think of him because he knows he can kick their ass anyway, he knows how to have a good time living to the fullest. He does have some sad emotions (DMC3) but never clings to them. He's cocky but not a douchebag. He is a more realistic older teen model.

When I first played dmc it remind me of ninja gaiden, but different at the same time, had a way better plot in my taste anyway. If you ask me if they wanted to team up with some one it should have been team ninja, with of course capcom plot's and characters. I thought they would have focus on nero and bring back vergil, let them work as a team against an old boss like mundus with his team of bad dues or something new with cutting out all the secrets with nero and the happs on vegil from part 1.

As a person who's hobby is to write stories, I can tell you that the story-plot and the main character's personality have to work together in some way that's interesting, and the story goal is achieved somehow. What we're seeing here is a guy with guns, a sword and half-angel half demon body just hacking and slashing through whatever story Tameem says he has for us. From right now, I can't say it's going to suck completely, but if it has this soulless punk, mark my words: It will suck. Period.

I'm okay with the new enemies, they may look more like undead humans than demons but you can't blame them for for that after five games. What I don't get, is that they absolutely insist on changing Dante's look, which is as unnecessary as making a sci-fi Elder Scrolls game.

DMC2...is incomplete, I don't think I have to explain..but It had the right idea..just didn't get executed well, he had development, he had power, he had attitude, he matrued, but there wasn't enough there, cut-scenes, gameplay (smooth mind you) and dialoge to show it clearly. I'll bet, had it taken an other year of work, it could have been one of the best damn dmcs out there. Which finally brings me to this reboot.

as far as the 30fps to 60fps check this out: The goal of motion pictures is not to recreate reality, it's not even to show reality. I want to suspend your disbelief and make you forget about yourself and your life and just be in the moment of the film. By not showing enough visual information, we force the brain into filling in the gaps... it draws you in even more. It's part of how you let go to the point where you can laugh or cry or feel tense or afraid or elated. that makes sense to me.

The first time Capcom did something like that was in Street Fighter EX, which turned out great, although it was an alternate-reality SF game made by an outside developer.
On multiple occasions, Ninja Theory and Capcom have stated their respect for the DMC series, and they're trying hard to make a good game.
I hope it will be a good game, at least.

I agree with this guy FULL ON. But one thing is kinda off, Tony Redgrave is an alias even our original Dante used.
All in all, though, Ninja Theory are just asses. You can't treat your fans like this and expect anything other than rage...

I've been saying this since the motherfucking beginning. I'm not the biggest DMC fan, but I still love the series, and I actually had a few good ideas of my own for the direction it could go in. Now, I wasn't expecting this game to be anything the way I envisioned it, that's just plain unrealistic, but it doesn't even live up to some basic expectations. Basic character traits, basic story, basic gameplay, even basic design are ALL WRONG. And the only thing I heard was "we don't care"? :/

Eziekiel on the Capcom Unity forums needs to see these videos. He's one of these pro-reboot fans who tries to argue with the original fans and say things like "why do you hate the trailer? Don't post links to other forum topics, tell me here etc." and when people do tell him their reasons, he says "give the game a chance, it will be amazing! blah blah blah." He is a full blown hypocrite like so many pro DmC fans, who can't say why they like it other than "I'll give it a chance, it looks cool"

Ninja Theory has stripped away all the things that made Dante who he is,1: he doesn't smoke, the only vices he has are eating pizza and strawberry sundaes. 2: Dante is not emo/gothic/suicidal/whatever you want to call it, he's an adrenaline junkie but at the same time knows how to keep his cool. 3: those clothes are WAY too tight, he don't have any room for his balls to breathe, 4: i want to play as DANTE, not Tameem Antionades

It think its just Capcom America that's fucking the game up, not Capcom in general. Plus Dante discovered devil trigger in DMC3: Dante's awakening, hence the title, it how he first started his job. It wouldn't make ANY sense if they threw it in the reboot, without the brotherly conflict, and came up with a shitty plot for an explaination.

@gotenks44 Actually, this game would have been good if it were a new IP all together. At the least, it could have been judged for it's own merits and the merits of past NT games. That would have been fine enough. But the very fact that it's been slapped with a DMC label, and the main character is supposed to be Dante brings up a WHOLE NEW tier this game has to compete with... and the fact that they insulted the fans, and presented a lackluster trailer to boot merely shreds the cred of this game.

I...almost rioted. There is no sense of manliness from this new "Dante". No character appeal to me, I can't see myself using with him and feel the sense of pride. Smoking? I usually wouldn't have a problem with that but I do find it a bit annoying. The character was obviously re-designed to appeal to teens, I don't seen many adults looking like that. So in a sense, their telling teens to smoke? WTF NO. NOT MY LITTLE NEPHEW AND NIECES

The fans are not professionals, the fans aren't being paid to be fans. So being professional is not their problem. They were civil and were ignored. They started yelling which got Capcom's/NT's attention (which should tell you something about the company, fans shouldn't have to yell to get their attention) They made fun of fans afterwards. Fans then tried being civil again, and were censored/banned. Both companies has brought this on themselves.

Actually, fans tried to be respectful about it not too long ago and were banned from Capcom forums. With no cursing or flying off the handle, the Capcom community talked with Svensson and once they got the best of him (mind you, talking civil) he got mad and got people banned. Saying this game will now cater to only those who like it now and nobody else. Tameem came out early saying and I quote, "I don't care" when regarding the fans. So there was no room for negotiation.

Again you gotta love the presentation. I love how you get the point across not in 20 minutes its basically the first minute. Again i did some research on this and if you look at the photo where dante is taking the mug shot the top of his head is white and there was no light coming from that angle which means his hair turns white for sure later on in the game but that wont really make me happy, i really dont have any expectations if its good then bravo you made something out of shit.

I'm fine with this being a prequel to 3. Maybe they do screw up with the graphics and battle style. In the end, Capcom will know to blame Ninja Theory, then give us a proper DMC5.
It's hard to say how I feel, because they won't give us anything definitive. That's not cool at all. The less we know, the less we can tell them what we do or don't like. I think that's the best way to say all of this.

I believe in just having fun with the game, but I think developers are turning it into more than that these days. Not just NT, but other devs have taken this rock star attitude when it comes to making video games, which I feel is uncalled for.
