  • active or passive EMG Which is better

  • how much do i have to pay to get EMGs on my m50

  • OKAY!!! For All The People Wanting To Know! Kirk Uses 81/81 On Heavier Stuff Like Master Of Puppets And RTL Album Stuff But He Uses 81/60 On The Cleaner Songs Like One, Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, The Unforgiven etc. etc. OKAY!

  • that tone is actually pretty good.

  • would you get the M50 over a Fender Squier crappy beginner guitar ? im thinking about getting a M50 ? but theres also the MH50 for a little more money ?

  • @rrgert4 Depends coz ul have to learn how to restring a floyd rose double locking tremelo system for an MH50, ive got the same dilemma as you. If you want a bit better than this get an ESP MH50 NT coz theres no whammy bar. The M50 whammy is pretty bad so i hear, using it makes the guitar go out of tune too easily. Hope this helped mate :)

  • @L3GGYJ

yeah i got the m50 for 199, its really good imo, i didnt want a floyd rose :D and i dont use the whammy so yeah :D

  • @rrgert4 Have u used the whammy at all because ive been wondering if it really is that bad, as its the same one featured on most strats, and they cant all be bad tbh as theyre such amazing guitars. Does it really go out of tune that much?? If so ive also been lookin at a schecter that may be worth getting as it has no trem... :D

  • awesome, i bet the pickups were more expensive than the rest of that guitar.

  • Gain should be 50, not 7, to play so heavy song like Leper Messiah is.

  • @Mordownick

I covered 'Leper Messiah' with a cello. U mad cuz i didn't use 50 gain brah?

  • sin musica lo haces?

  • hey man, im installing zakk wylde 81 - 85's in my m-50 soon, does all the components and shit fit alright in yours?

  • gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain

  • "Was this hard to cover?" as this guy sits here and plays power chords.

  • Was this hard to cover? Im thinking of learning it.

  • @t0wn513 The parts i covered back then (video is 2 years old) are easy :P

  • Beutifully done!

because of this vid.... i'm gonna look up tabs hahah!

    nice guitar

  • dude. kick ass sound. Amazing crunch. Good cover!

  • hey nice vid, watch my cover that i just put up

  • do you like those pickups ?

  • well, lets say thats something i will never replace

  • @Sakaluku EMG pickups kick you right in the testicles with their amazing sustain

  • @Sakaluku heh good to hear that because ive got the same guitar and im thinking if to get your set or replace the emg 60 with an 85 emg? what is your opinion? thanks...

  • you used a lampe randall ?

  • Randall RG50TC indeed has lamps/tubes

  • Hmmm terrible noise

  • U had nice tab. send me it. O.K?

  • Not playing by any particular tab, had a tab and changed it according to hearing.

  • is it windy in your house

  • EMGs responding to every little move i make

  • Check out my cover!!! Visit my page NOW

  • Great job, keep it up man! Maybe next time play the song quietly in the background for reference.

  • nice man!

  • way toooo bass! i play with only 2 on the bass...but your sound is awesome too^^

  • way too rock it man it was sick!!!

  • as soo as u get 2 the mad riff u speed it up way too much but it is still good

  • What color is the hardware

  • Is it hard to mound active pickups on a guitar that has passive stock ? ( i'm going to do this and i don't know the interior of a guitar )

  • You basically can't really do that. A pickup uses a coil with a magnet core. The passive pickup's core is a magnet. The 'active' pickup means that this Magnet core is provided by another coil power with a battery.

  • Sure you can, just take it to a local guitar tech, they may have to do some routering for the battery compartment, but shouldn't be a problem. But be warned, active pickups are not that great, tend to over-compress sound and winds up sounding unnatural. Better to look at high quality passive.

  • Comment removed

  • at the (triplets) for example the one at 1:10 you are only playing 2 notes, they r triplets

  • Very old video ;) That's a mistake i stopped making a long time ago. And no, theyre not triplets, just a little gallop.

  • alright

  • which one is better the m1000 or the m50? I'm thinking of buying one of those.

  • you have problems with rhytm

  • its wayy faster

  • i totally agree.

  • if anyone could reply to this comment i am wanting to install emg pickups on my PRS se guitar and was curious to which ones mix and sound great together...ive read that emg 60 & 81 go great together but would like other peoples opinions Thanks!!!

  • yep, Hetfield uses 81/60 too. 81 is great for distorted sounds, 60 is great for warm clean sounds.

  • im running the 81/60 in my guitar and it kicks ass. i like that configuration better than the 85/81

  • 85/81 kirk uses this config...

  • no dude, Kirk uses 81/60

  • Nope

    Kirk uses 81/81

  • Dude come on!! Check out the ESP web, kirk uses 81/60 and James too, the configuration 81/81 is for the V-II and NV series

  • oh I'm sorry he is recently using the 81/60 pair. But he used a combination of 2 EMG S and an EMG 81. Then he switched to EMG 81/81 pair which is stil sold as EMG-KH21 by EMG. So, yeah almost all the good stuff came from 81/81

  • @drkndvl

No he uses 81/60, look at his esp signature guitars

  • @drkndvl dude he use 81/60 james does as well ;)

  • @drkndvl i thought Kirk used 81/85?

  • @sadbutsandman91

He started with emg 81-S-S. then it was EMG 81/81 for ages...till a year or more ago the esp website had 81/60 on all the KH models except for the kh-202.

  • yeah its bad, because they play the intro section an other....

  • dude is it really difficult to put active emgs into a guitar with passive pickups? if not , how do you install them? please tell me ...thanks

  • No there isn't any difference, you could put both active and passive pickups in every guitar.

  • Are you playing this through a pedal? I cannot get my RG50TC to sound good. What is your EQ set to?

  • very very god nut how much do you pay thanks

  • Great playing man!

  • dude, i have the same problem as you. my amp is crap. for people who want to know. never ever buy a amp with overdrive in it. its teh worst. i always record myself playing and stuff, there is always fuzz in the back ground. that is why you people should get everything seperate. there might be fuzz on geear like pedals. but you also have drivers and filters. i need one of those

  • playin the shit out of that guitar but the sound is bad, but thats ok good work man

  • Sound quality issues - blame camera.

  • nice! your awesome

  • how much did it cost you to install the EMG's ?

  • He is poor , he spent his 1 year to make only one upgrade.

  • Unlike you, everyone doesn't spend all his money on guitar, just to drop it after a few years, sell his ESP Hammet signature guitar + awesome marshall amp and start playing with RC helicopters. You're pathetic.

  • to answer your question generally an EMG upgrate will cost say £120 ish for the actual pickups and if you change them yourself no more of course, just need to buy a battery.

  • Good work man, keep it up! :D

  • nice cover

  • does this guitar go out of tune easily???? or not btw you are good.

  • Only goes out of tune if intensly useing the tremolo. Other than that every other string except G stays in tune for weeks.

  • guitar good for linkin park themes?

  • My m-50 is the same, the bloody G string hardly stays in tune!

i thought it was just mine:D

  • hey i have the same guitar and i have this annoying fret buzz on my low E string, do you have the same problem? im new to guitars and dont know how to fix it. can you help me?

  • Yeah... Even got it set up by a luthier once, but the problem was back in like a week. I'm not brave enough to mess with the truss rod myself xD

  • You sound pretty good btw what kind of guiar is that

  • ESP LTD M50 mounted with EMG 81/60

  • What tuning are you playing in?

  • Standard ofc

  • dO YOU EVER TUNE TO A LOW TUNING WITH THIS GUITAR?

  • sOMETIMES, DEPENDING ON WHAT STRINGS I CURRENTLY HAVE ON.

  • really boring to play

  • im playing around a year and i have a vox and i hate it. too complicated and the gain is flowing with feedback sucks. i was wondering is this amp got a good gain crunchy tight sound. it seems so from video, but do ya recommend this amp for metal and pantera sounds!!

  • gain9 high10 mid2 bass7...use this...its better

  • id recommend these settings: gain: 6.. bass: 4/5.. mid: 4.. treble: 8/9 would make it sound alot better ;p

  • Uhh.. How long have you been playing? Probably not to long. I'd recommend that you turn down the gain. It sounds a bit muddy, and makes a lot of noise.

Remember, i'm not saying this to offend you, just to help you.

Other than that. Great playing :)

  • The muddyness is just from the camera :P And the noise is so loud because im standing right in front of the amp and so is the camera in front of the amp.

(It's a bit of an old video aswell, haven't had a reach to a camera to record something new lately xD)

  • hey man could you make a video for all of us thinking of getting emg 81/85s. i have the same guitar and i want to no how much differnce these pickups made. cheers

  • learn the solo and it would be a great cover

  • how is the 81/60 combo? i don't really know anything about pickups so if you could tell me anything that be great

  • The 81 is gonna give you a tight, crunchy rhythm tone, a clean creamy lead tone.. and the 60 will give you some amazing cleans, great for some lead work too.

81/60 is my personal favourite combo.

  • I'm gonna buy an ESP LTD M-50 in 1 week.

    It looks really good.

  • the M50 is amazing but realise that this cover has EMG's chances r itll sound nothin like that

  • Thank you for all the comments :)

  • I thought it was pretty good

  • Solo is nowhere , he has no idea what solo is.

  • wheres the solo

  • "worser"?

    your grammar appauls me

  • @THEREALdumbass07 "oh hey look at me i spell the bestest"

  • ur a dick i rly love this cover i think its pretty awesome and it inspires me 2 wna learn it fuck you

  • I'm sure you have nothing to fuck , except your hand

  • ok random ... point is this covers awesome and ur jus a prick hater ... go die dick hed

  • hahaha, worser. i'm dutch and even i don't spell that wrong

  • excellent 5* id love 2 play that

  • Your mids are too low, Metallica had their mids low but not that low. The treble is a bit too high, Imo.

  • The amp has a dry sound. Its the nature of the amp

  • me likey like :D

  • nice playing man, im learning this song. and i want to now if you'd recommend that randall cuz im sick of using a crappy ibanez 10 watt amp, and i can almost afford the rg50tc

  • If you like metal, then the rg50tc is one of the best if not the best at its price class. Only problem with it is that you wont be getting the most out of it in an apartment(like me) since you can't turn the volume up high where it sounds best(its very fuckin' loud).

  • o i guess im gonna get it, i mostly practice in my room, but i jam with friends and stuff alot, so i dont need anything louder than a tube combo

  • I've got ltd m50 with emg 81 in bridge.

Im planning to buy emg 60 in neck.

  • wow man u realy good!

  • rythm has to have one thing rythm

  • You don't have to flame, if you see something wrong then point it out and tell me how to improve on that.

  • heyy nice playiin, is the guitar n e good stock, coz i mite get one ?? plz check out my metallica enter sandman vid

  • The pickups are pretty much crap in stock :p
