@Awayze I actually asked my friends this question suggesting that it might be a fusion of sparkling orange and ginger beer, but the general reply was that it is simply just Irn-bru flavoured. So it is its own flavour, according to them.
@Scrol1 Explaining the flavour of Irn Bru is very difficult, it has an almost spicey taste the way gingerbeer does but without tasting anything like gingerbeer. It has peculiar ingredients that you wouldn't find in many other drinks, citrine, caffeine, ferric nitrate, these give it an energy drink like buzz and a partially metallic taste "Made from girders".
Very hard to explain, but the taste is phenomenal, it's a proven hangover cure (caffeine, etc) and in Scotland it is worshipped, haha :P
i think being a rangers fan (as i am my self ) has alot to do with religion i am a proddie i go to a cathlioc school and all of my friends are celtic fans
I spent some time in Scotland last year, gorgeous country with fantastic people, and, more importantly, Irn Bru. Brilliant hangover cure. I'm a Scot at heart.

i love this advert so much. i remember it being on tv, unbeliev- phenominal :). its such a gorgeous commercial, love the words to it and it makes me even more proud to be a scot. i know its only a drink but its amazing what this ad has done :')
@trevtrash Rather that than keep going on about an event that happened 44 years ago and insisting out of sheer arrogance that it'll happen again in 2010, while unnecessarily covering everything with the national flag.
@zsimmitus Actually I don't wish to be a pedant but Ireland invented Scotland if anything. The original inhabitants of Scotland, the picts, were almost annihilated by the romans and the bretons for continually invading and killing them. Much much later the Irish scottia tribe came over and settled in the west giving us our current name of Scotland and then for the following few centuries the English tried to dilute our genepool further with prima nocti. Not much pict blood left in us.
@FatBlackFrancis Actually, although the picst were almost annihalated bt eh romans etc, they werent totally annihilated. My family from North of aberdeen as have many friends- trace their origins to the picts/vikings.
Yes, The irish Scotti populated the south west of scotland but without a doubt, there are still MANY pictish decendants in the north who were there first!!
@Rathardican The Picts (early Scots) were not only not annihilated by the Romans, the Romans didn't even manage to nearly annihilate them, the Romans never managed to colonise even half of Scotland, the furthest main fort they managed to build in Scotland was Antonine's wall, and that didn't even last 20 years before they backed off back down south again.
Scots didn't come from Ireland, they were always indigenous to Scotland, Google the site "Irishtribesman the Scots did not come from Ireland".
@FatBlackFrancis Actually the Scotti were both Scottish (by modern definitions) and Irish. They came from Dal Riata which is basically SW Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The Romans never really got much further than the Antonine Wall(although they did on occassion) and they may have defeated the Picts but they certainly never destroyed them. The Picts lasted until the Scotti unified Scotland(well, mostly unified) which was after the Romans tried and failed.
@tj4234 Actually that's religious revisionist myth. Scots were always indigenous to Scotland, they didn't come from Ireland, only the tiny northern tip of Antrim in Ireland was part of Dál Riata, and historians are coming to see that it went the other way, they came 'from' Scotland, not 'to'.
It's usually the Plastic Paddie Yanks that enforce this view around by word of mouth, with their higher population, it's not that hard to spread myth as fact to the point where it becomes common 'view'.
@tj4234 The Scots today are by far and large the Caledonian Picts of ancient Scotland, this is proved by the 'OGAP4' code found all over Scotland from 12 years of research (1996~2008).

It's another one of Bravehearts several inaccuracies, almost as equally as bad as making King Robert I fight against his own country of Scotland, which never happened either.
The Scots are by far and large very Caledonian Pictish.

Nah it's no a Glasgow thing, it's a Scottish thing to call your lunch dinner and dinner tea, I thought everyone worldwide did it that way too but it must just be a Scottish thing and im not changing it either coz it's natural to me
i hate when ppl say i have a scottish accent >:(. cause there are soo many different dialects. the 2 major ones being glaswegian and edinburghnian. (edinburgh here :P)
It's just really really sweet. It also turns your tongue orange if you drink too much. Ahhhhh Bru - makes our nation great. (If inclined to acting a bit mental due to the sugar rush...)
It's such a shame, I always used to call my lunch dinner, and my dinner tea, but recently, due to American influence on the television, lunch is becoming lunch and dinner dinner. I do sometimes call my supper, tea though, ahh Scotland, 4 square meals a day. ;)

I think this is great!! There's a balance of humility and pride when it comes to being Scottish. Despite being scrawny, pale and shite at football...we love ourselves just as much as anyone else loves their country. We have a chip on our shoulder because of our neighbors to the south, but we don't flaunt the great things Scots have done for this world.
Naff off! Yes, we're small, yes it rains yada yada: but every nation on earth thinks theirs is the best and we're no exception. I got a bit misty-eyed watching this, I miss Scotland now that I live in London...
There's nothing wrong with having love for your country. I love the little underpant smear I'm from. I don't think 'it's the best' per say. I'm sure there's a lot of folk would think it's a load of shite (and they're probably right) but for me, my memories and the culture I grew up with feels somewhat special and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that!!! HUZZAH!
what it's got to do with rangers and celtic is that the rangers/celtic sectarian divide is one of the strongest modern day rivalries and it represents the way that a true scot won't let this divide ruin a relationship. To all those of u who believe the divide has nothing to do with religion, i suggest u examine the history of scotland in greater depth

segano1 6 months ago
@tj4234 The Scots today are by far and large the Caledonian Picts of ancient Scotland, this is proved by the 'OGAP4' code found all over Scotland from 12 years of research (1996~2008).
And no, the Romans never defeated them, they sometimes managed to get as far as Antonine's wall, but it was so short lived, at a mere 18 years before the Romans retreated back down south to where the built the protectional fort of Hadrian's wall, at no point did the Romans even colonise half of Scotland though.
segano1 6 months ago
@FatBlackFrancis The Caledonian Picts and the Scots are one and the same people.
It sounds like you've been reading too much into either Plastic Paddies or National Catholic revisionist propaganda from Ireland.
The OGAP4 code shows that just about every Scot within Scotland is Pictish by majority.
The Scots were always indigenous to Scotland.
Modern archaeology and genetic research dis-proves Irish/Catholic made myth.

HUZZAH!

this is an irnbru advert whats it gotta do with rangers n celtic?
JcLjx3 2 years ago 2
what it's got to do with rangers and celtic is that the rangers/celtic sectarian divide is one of the strongest modern day rivalries and it represents the way that a true scot won't let this divide ruin a relationship. To all those of u who believe the divide has nothing to do with religion, i suggest u examine the history of scotland in greater depth

You might want to do that yourself of you ruin the risk of oversimplifying something that is far from simple.
