  • The one thing I miss from Scottland...

  • whae gives a flying shite about ancient history?

away an play wi yasel's ya wikipedia reading's weirdo's and trying sam a scotlands ither national drink ;)

  • Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin can openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday

  • And here is one of the main reason i am proud to be Scottish =)

  • That was amazing

    /)'o'(\

  • I fucking miss Irn-bru and Scotland!!! After a wonderful year there I am in Spain again :(

  • mmm irn bru.. having a craving for it the now :)

  • Irn Bru is sooo nice, never knew what flavour it is but I love it.

  • @Awayze its bubblegum actually lol

  • @Awayze I actually asked my friends this question suggesting that it might be a fusion of sparkling orange and ginger beer, but the general reply was that it is simply just Irn-bru flavoured. So it is its own flavour, according to them.

  • Makes me proud to be Scottish. And I'm not Scottish.

  • FUCK TANNING.

  • im being treated to watch an add before i watch an add, talk about shit

  • SO nice... I miss Scotland BIG time!

  • i remember when they started selling `diet` irn bru a mate ,of scots decent, was disgusted ,what next low fat scotch pies?

  • Best drink in the world. Ultimate hangover cure as well.

" We hate Coca-Cola, we hate Fanta too (it's shite), we are the Tartan Army and we drink Irn-Bru, Irn Bru x 100)"

  • is it like pepsi or does it taste like orange?

  • @Scrol1

It tastes like WIN and AWESOME.

  • @Scrol1 Explaining the flavour of Irn Bru is very difficult, it has an almost spicey taste the way gingerbeer does but without tasting anything like gingerbeer. It has peculiar ingredients that you wouldn't find in many other drinks, citrine, caffeine, ferric nitrate, these give it an energy drink like buzz and a partially metallic taste "Made from girders".

Very hard to explain, but the taste is phenomenal, it's a proven hangover cure (caffeine, etc) and in Scotland it is worshipped, haha :P

  • @Scrol1 It tastes like Scotland!

  • @Scrol It's nothing like either,it's unique.

  • i love irn bru :D woooo scotland FTW

  • I. LOVE. IRN-BRU.

I'm as Scottish as it gets. The Highlands are Brutal min!!!

  • First energy drink ever <3

  • whats the dafty at songing that bird

    up the gers

  • @IIIxRaMbOxIII best comment ever

  • Good stuff. They should have ended it with something like, 'you'll be a Scot, my son'. I'm not Scottish, but would have fit better ... I guess the marketing department wouldn't have liked it though.

  • @Metal5Dark maybe if you wernt licking so much ass irn bru wouldn't taste that bad ha

  • Should have given the Scottish football team some IRN BRU THEY MIGHT BE IN THE WORLD CUP IN SOUTH AFRICA....LMAO

  • @trevtrash Rather that than keep going on about an event that happened 44 years ago and insisting out of sheer arrogance that it'll happen again in 2010, while unnecessarily covering everything with the national flag.

In short - nyeh nyeh! :P

  • god i need some irn bru right now...living in ireland for ten years and the thing i miss most is irn bru with a good fish supper.

  • hmm...IRN-BRU IS AMAZIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @RSkelly117 That's actuallly a myth, it has no effect on the reproductive system whatsoever.

  • @Yungnuty It's the Scottish Romeo and Juliet situation!

  • drink about 9 litres a day without fail or i will get the shakes.

  • is the guy at the end winstons grand son in still game?

  • @craigrbb na don't think so.

  • Gotta love the Bru! I've only ever met one Scot who calls their lunch dinner and it confuses me everytime he says it though...

  • @TheHumanWreckage

  • c'mon the hoops

  • i drink 2L a day with out fail

  • i could if i had the money n that lol

  • vodie n coke tonight .............. irn bru in the fridge for the mornin

an when i was preggie a bottle of bru every morn to keep the mornin sickness awa lol

  • OMG so true tbh :P

  • irish pride!

and scottish,of course, they invented the irish

  • @zsimmitus Actually I don't wish to be a pedant but Ireland invented Scotland if anything. The original inhabitants of Scotland, the picts, were almost annihilated by the romans and the bretons for continually invading and killing them. Much much later the Irish scottia tribe came over and settled in the west giving us our current name of Scotland and then for the following few centuries the English tried to dilute our genepool further with prima nocti. Not much pict blood left in us.

  • @FatBlackFrancis you argument, sir, has my respect

  • @zsimmitus Well it shouldn't, because it's all complete bullshit.

  • @FatBlackFrancis Scotland is stronger than Ireland :D

  • @FatBlackFrancis Actually, although the picst were almost annihalated bt eh romans etc, they werent totally annihilated. My family from North of aberdeen as have many friends- trace their origins to the picts/vikings.

Yes, The irish Scotti populated the south west of scotland but without a doubt, there are still MANY pictish decendants in the north who were there first!!

  • @Rathardican The Picts (early Scots) were not only not annihilated by the Romans, the Romans didn't even manage to nearly annihilate them, the Romans never managed to colonise even half of Scotland, the furthest main fort they managed to build in Scotland was Antonine's wall, and that didn't even last 20 years before they backed off back down south again.

Scots didn't come from Ireland, they were always indigenous to Scotland, Google the site "Irishtribesman the Scots did not come from Ireland".

  • @FatBlackFrancis Actually the Scotti were both Scottish (by modern definitions) and Irish. They came from Dal Riata which is basically SW Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The Romans never really got much further than the Antonine Wall(although they did on occassion) and they may have defeated the Picts but they certainly never destroyed them. The Picts lasted until the Scotti unified Scotland(well, mostly unified) which was after the Romans tried and failed.

  • @tj4234 Actually that's religious revisionist myth. Scots were always indigenous to Scotland, they didn't come from Ireland, only the tiny northern tip of Antrim in Ireland was part of Dál Riata, and historians are coming to see that it went the other way, they came 'from' Scotland, not 'to'.

It's usually the Plastic Paddie Yanks that enforce this view around by word of mouth, with their higher population, it's not that hard to spread myth as fact to the point where it becomes common 'view'.

  • @tj4234 The Scots today are by far and large the Caledonian Picts of ancient Scotland, this is proved by the 'OGAP4' code found all over Scotland from 12 years of research (1996~2008).

And no, the Romans never defeated them, they sometimes managed to get as far as Antonine's wall, but it was so short lived, at a mere 18 years before the Romans retreated back down south to where the built the protectional fort of Hadrian's wall, at no point did the Romans even colonise half of Scotland though.

  • @FatBlackFrancis The Caledonian Picts and the Scots are one and the same people.

It sounds like you've been reading too much into either Plastic Paddies or National Catholic revisionist propaganda from Ireland.

The OGAP4 code shows that just about every Scot within Scotland is Pictish by majority.

The Scots were always indigenous to Scotland.

Modern archaeology and genetic research dis-proves Irish/Catholic made myth.

  • @FatBlackFrancis You seriously need to educate yourself, everything you've said has gaping holes in your comments, another thing you go on about is the medieval practice of 'Prima Nocti'..You do realise that that part in Braveheart was complete historical bullshit? It's another one of Bravehearts several inaccuracies, almost as equally as bad as making King Robert I fight against his own country of Scotland, which never happened either.

The Scots are by far and large very Caledonian Pictish.

  • @segano1 Very smart stuff, thanks for that. Not everyone can handle honesty.

  • @segano1 i'm so sick of hearing people bitch about that, braveheart is a movie its not meant to be a historical documentary stop moaning and just enjoy it, its a great movie! a very famous actor once said a movie is first to entertain second to inspire and THIRD to educate, either Schwarzenegger christof waltz tom hanks tom cruise or brad pitt for the life of me i cannot remember who said it

  • alot of people dont call their lunch dinner and dinner tea?

I do it all the time..

Maybe it's a glasgow thing, or im just weird! :D

    amazing advert, amazing drink!

  • Nah it's no a Glasgow thing, it's a Scottish thing to call your lunch dinner and dinner tea, I thought everyone worldwide did it that way too but it must just be a Scottish thing and im not changing it either coz it's natural to me

  • @segano1

nope i english and i call my midday meal dinner and my evening one tea :)

  • SCOTLAND! =)

    We made the Telephone!

    But best of All ..

    WE MADE IRN BRU!

  • It's such a shame, I always used to call my lunch dinner, and my dinner tea, but recently, due to American influence on the television, lunch is becoming lunch and dinner dinner. I do sometimes call my supper, tea though, ahh Scotland, 4 square meals a day. ;)

  • In the American south

    lunch = dinner

    dinner = supper

  • Im From the West and i Say Dinner / Tea -

  • im scottish and irn bru is the most amazing drink in the world but i hate this advert; its just too cheesy and sentimental. i preferred the goth holiday and the shoplifting granny, not to mention the grandad with false teeth!

  • Irn Bru is the greatest drink in the world and i should know I'm from Glasgow hahaha!

  • i know the guy without the tan flexing his muscles, he's called jamie and he goes to my school in helensburgh (:

  • I'm Scottish and I've never called my lunch dinner? Is that an east coast thing or something?

  • I always call my lunch dinner, yeah I'm from the East Coast but all my West Coast mates do it too

  • anyone who says marketing doesn't work on me there wrong!!

i went out nd bought a can after to watching this!!

GOD BLESS IRN BRU AND SCOTLAND! :D

  • I'm scottish but i don't do any of these things :S except the tea and dinner one :)

  • proves that scots are awesome <3.

  • man i love that stuff

  • I think this is great!! There's a balance of humility and pride when it comes to being Scottish. Despite being scrawny, pale and shite at football...we love ourselves just as much as anyone else loves their country. We have a chip on our shoulder because of our neighbors to the south, but we don't flaunt the great things Scots have done for this world.

  • Will, I'm from scotish and i like scotland. :S

  • lol av always called ma lunch ma dinner n ma dinner tea haha

  • Naff off! Yes, we're small, yes it rains yada yada: but every nation on earth thinks theirs is the best and we're no exception. I got a bit misty-eyed watching this, I miss Scotland now that I live in London...

  • There's nothing wrong with having love for your country. I love the little underpant smear I'm from. I don't think 'it's the best' per say. I'm sure there's a lot of folk would think it's a load of shite (and they're probably right) but for me, my memories and the culture I grew up with feels somewhat special and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that!!! HUZZAH!

  • You fool.

  • Shut up you retard.

  • this is an irnbru advert whats it gotta do with rangers n celtic?

  • what it's got to do with rangers and celtic is that the rangers/celtic sectarian divide is one of the strongest modern day rivalries and it represents the way that a true scot won't let this divide ruin a relationship. To all those of u who believe the divide has nothing to do with religion, i suggest u examine the history of scotland in greater depth

  • You might want to do that yourself of you ruin the risk of oversimplifying something that is far from simple.
