@Khoufu The distortion wasn't constant. It actually changes twice. When the Doctor goes in the first time, it's instantaneous. But for Amy and Rory there was a significant delay, they were able to converse with each other. When the Doctor goes in at the end, barely any time has passed since he arrived, a shorter delay than for Amy and Rory but longer than it was at first.
