@MrLearn2board These things are so loud and primal that you get a rush just standing next to one. These can be put on gocarts, motorcycles, etc.... if you're brave enough and have enough open space to try it!
I would LOVE to take this contraption, at full throttle mind you, and just dump it into a pool filled with liquid nitrogen. You know, to COOL IT OFF a little. Any takers out there?
So Im thinking , You run it long enough and you are left with a pile of melted metal and your shed on fire , But if you rig it up in the kitchen that would be one hell of a toaster
is the double dog leg.. or gooseneck.. required? how much thrust are you getting.. and do you get thrust form the intake form the blowback? and have you ever considered, running a high speed fan, and thne maybe some sort of air brake on both ends of the chamber to aide compression, and keep the chamber lit.. i know it kinda veers from the point of pulsers, but i think itd be a neat little expiriment
@chillincruisin Propane is injected into the pipe, which ignites it (via spark, or in his case, a torch). The propane explodes outward, producing thrust. Now there is a vacuum in the pipe, because all the gas has rushed out. This sucks the flame BACK IN, igniting the next spurt of propane. That's why it has a "throbbing" sound- it's exploding propane several times a second. The versions that are straight instead of bent generally use a valve to direct the force of the combustion.
@chillincruisin It is a jet engine with ZERO moving parts, and thus it is very easy to make and keep up. Anyone can make one with just a welder and some pipe, and they almost never break when used properly. It's a good easy way to produce a lot of thrust cheaply, and is therefor used by inventors for insane concepts- like jet powered bicycles, dune buggies, or gliders.
well you can use it on anything where a Light Simple robust engine is Ideal, so long as the Noise and Vibration is not too much or a problem. Because of this they are often used on millilary target drones
@MATechz thrust, heating, spreading pesticides/other chemicals, ice buildup removal, fun, a giant leaf blower (hehehe, been there, done that!) and lots of stuff. they are super effiecient combustors, and produce a very good power to wieght ratio. plus, they are cheap to build. ya just cant beat a cheap jet engine!
@MATechz Weenie roaster, Rush Limbaugh's cigar lighter, lighting Snoop Dog's bong. annoying your Illegal alien nieghbors, wkaing the dead... need I go on?
@wdowa94 usually for making power in flying vehicles like RC and control line airplanes and some target drones. the V-1 flying bomb used by the Germans in World War II also used it. Some are also used for huge industrial dryers
