I have since read that also - air movement signals the plants to grow stockier. I wondered if you noticed the same and if it is a benefit. Do you transplant these? What time of year and what part of the country?
@jwt0bos Air movement indirectly causes stockier growth, due to cellular damage and reconstruction. I have a fan blowing to keep them somewhat strong, however when in an outside environment I tie them to a steak close to the main stem and tie off longer branches to the top so the wind cannot bend them to such an extreme that they snap. I grow them in Upstate New York from seed in late Dec to early Jan and they germinate in 1-2 weeks, I then transplant them to containers after the last frost.
What are the zip ties for? Identification between kinds or you use those to check moisture levels at the bottom of the cups or something else? Thanks.
They're really short - the light is the secret huh? What is the air movement for? I am doing this but obviously way behind in knowledge. Thanks for the video
This is amazing. Your plants look healthy, it looks like its not too hot with your light, you have ventilation, and that light fixture! that is simply brilliant (giving you credit) 6 out of 5 stars man, simply amazing. This video deserves atleast a million views.

Yes the zip ties are sort of a color coded identification system to tell apart varieties... If I remember correctly:
Orange: Orange habanero
Pink: Caribbean Red habanero
Green (black tip): Aji Chombo habanero
Green: Congo habanero
Blue (black tip): Congo habanero x Caribbean Red habanero F1 (female x male)
Blue: Caribbean Red habanero x Congo habanero F1 (female x male)

@jwt0bos The air movement is to control heat, the CFL lights put out a lot of radiant heat.
