I don't get one thing: Since you've got the possibility to lift the truck off the ground, why didn't you unbolt the engine and drive train completely off the body and just lift the body off the frame. It would've been a whole lot easy.
Did something similar with a Ford sports car once. Of course, there was no ladder frame, so the engine, gearbox and front axle popped out really easy. So did the rear axle with the drive shaft. Got all the bolts together in a tin box. Only lost like two of them.
Parts are now further taken apart and in storage to use as spares.
well i gotta say i like these videos true hard work with not alot and unlike some videos no being drunk on the job some folks believe the hype its ok to drink and work on vehicles but its not a smart thing cause you could hurt yourself or even worse kill yourself always best to leave the drinking after your done in my opinion keep em commin and good luck
@TinManKustoms No real element of danger. The way the hood and cowl are shaped, it basically seats itself against the cowl when the bolts are off. Didn't have to worry about paint or dents either. Would never have done it like that on a truck with real paint. Besides, I gottta do SOMETHING redneck, don't I?
@gple87 All V-8 GMC's came with the Poncho installed in 55,6,7 and 8. They all used the same block but kept upping the cubic inches every year. 55 was a 288, 56 was a 316, 57 was 347, 58 was a 370 and 59 was a 389. The story I head long ago was that GMC wanted the highest torque passenger V-8 that corporate GM had to offer. Pontiac won the prize. As it turns out, some numbskull ran this 347 without water and cracked both heads. We manged to locate a 59 389 and punched it .040 over. I love torque
very funny videos,, but this is how real people build a truck. not all of us have a million dollars worth of equipment, and a fancy shop to boot. The only thing missing is the beer. keep the vids coming

Enjoying your videos and appreciate the "no foul language" aspect missing in so many car videos online.
Thanks,

why didn't you use the loader to help you take the hood off. A lot safer than the broom jammed in there.
