  • Funny...my laptop just gave me that "find power source, battery almost dead" sign after watching this video.

  • Buy me a pony! Now!

  • Will this 'WiTricity' cause cars to activate when it is off?

  • How did they get Ze Frank from the 90's to do this video?

  • @WhatYouOughtToKnow netaddictionanon(dot)org/about/itaa-12-steps/ There's your AA group ;)

  • What is the efficiency?

If it needs 100 watts to convey 1 watt, it wouldn't be too good.

  • What is the efficiency?

  • Dude, are you a Ze Frank fan? The delivery is scary similar to "The Show"

  • YEAH MAN, GREAT VIDEO BUT YOU SHOULD START UPLOADING HD QUALITY VIDEO.

  • Oh man, I read a great book that had to do with that. it was fiction... but it was a good book nonetheless.

One of the Repairman Jack books by F. Paul Wilson (in case anyone wants to check it out)

  • every once in a while science makes a huge breakthrough, and then forgets about it for a hundred years or so, but eventually it gets dug up and rediscovered!

  • For the original presentation at a TED talk from the MIT WiTricity folks, search for "TED wireless electricity" Watch the magic at ~7:30

  • 1:39 NIKOLA TESLA came from Croatia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the only way people know that country exists!

  • Electro-Sensitivity (ES)

Electro-sensitive people suffer from a variety of symptoms in close vicinity to electromagnetic fields, Wi-fi, mobiles, DECT phones, baby monitors, certain light sources etc: Headaches, Speech problems, dizziness, chest palpations, tinnitus, sweating at night. skin irritations, pins and needles in the hands in the mornings, short-term memory loss, nauseas, joint aches and pressures at the back of the head as well as in the sinus or forehead area.

  • Even if you are not ES, it is beneficial to turn off your Wifi over night, as well as to ban electrical items, your cordless phones and mobiles from your bedroom. You will sleep much better and are less likely to have an interrupted sleep pattern. Usually waking around 4 am.

  • Another simple test is to stop carrying your mobile on your body (chest or trouser pockets). in many cases people experience the so-called “phantom text messages”. This describes a situation where every now and then you think you had a text message, when keeping the phone in your pockets, but when you checked there was no message. Some even suffer from heart palpitations. If that is case, just try for a while to carry your mobile in a bag or switch it off, while you have it in your pocket

  • A simple explanation of the concept is that a magnetic field passing through a wire cause a current to form (electricity). The problem is that from the generation of magnetic field back to electric ones is very inefficient. Tesla had proof of concept, modern day scientists are improving this to increase the efficiency to usable levels.

  • I LOVE THIS GUY HES IS VERY ENTERTAINING

  • but i like cables :(

  • OMG!!!!!!! I knew it was about Tesla when i saw the word "WITricity"!!!!

  • so if wireless internet is WiFi shouldnt wireless electricity be WiTri? Thats got a better ring to it

  • i wish you would respect the Tesla.

  • Tesla, you little mad scientist you

  • I dont have a source but i was told in elementary school that someone did this but apparently it caused the animals to all freak out and people were getting bad electric shocks so they ran the scientist out of town

  • I have to say that it is a very inefficient energy delivery system and it can never get to 100% efficient or even close!!!!

  • @WatchmenDrManhattan Its people like you that would say "Oh, we'll never shrink computers from the size of a classroom!"

  • NIKOLA TESLA FTW SERBIAN PEOPLE!11!!!!!!

  • TESLA ROCKS....

    EDISON SUCKS...

Sir Tesla did tell Edison that the future would belong to Sir Tesla..

Also respect to u guys from INDIA...

  • Tesla was a genius !

  • Actually Tesla kept his notes, but uppon his death, FBI confestated everithing. Even today there are classefied files ;)

  • @integral123 Nice. Name.

  • ...What about mice?

  • They stole this from Dr. John boys of the university of auckland, NewZealand. create something of your own. Auckland uni is a generation ahead in this area of research

  • Too many distractions...

  • "2 meters for everyone that uses a measuring system that makes sense..."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nikola tesla is the best inventer of all time!

  • i did even better than this. i sent industrial energy 20 ft wirelessly using the real tesla system! i put up a ton of info on it so that everyone can learn! i did this for everyone so we can learn!

  • WiTricity doesn't role off the tongue

  • holy fuck u rock

  • this guys an alight chap but tesla did keep notes ill leave u to figure out what happened to them

  • And your car, YOUR CAR!!!!

  • i did even better than this. i sent industrial energy 20 ft wirelessly using the real tesla system! i put up a ton of info on it so that everyone can learn!

  • Witricity or " Death ray" bad idea, hand me my tinfoil helmet!

  • hahahaha indeed.

  • I'm using that phone to watch this video, and it is a greedy little thing but it also my source of internet so It kind of controls my life (and I play supernintendo on it)

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, you got to charge the magnetic object which provides the witricity...

It would be almost 100% of the time something is not completely charged,

energy will be transferred to those objects and energy from the magnet

    would be reduced.

Which means electricity is constantly used to charge the magnet and it means we got to pay more unless

the magnet requires a little energy to start up and itself can create energy which I doubt.

  • I'm not going to say you're wrong, I'm just going to propose an idea.

The miles and miles of cables that run through towns, over rivers, and through deserts constantly have electricity flowing through them. There is a gigantic amount of static electricity around the cables, which some cattle herders used to power their homes and such. Just because there is electricity around the wires doesn't mean it's being used. Path of least resistance means whenever the magnetic field isn't being used,

  • The reason that Tesla's model was not developed was that the could not charge for the distribution of the power. If you look at you power bill you will see the distribution charge - in some areas this charge is 30% or more of the bill per kWh.

  • i did even better than this. i sent industrial energy 20 ft wirelessly using the real tesla system! i put up a ton of info on it so that everyone can learn! please check it out everyone, way more farther and way more energy delivery than this guy. please i did this for everyone so we can learn!

  • I need this.

  • It may also reduce waste due to battery usage as well, but you have a point. Maybe if we just used a bunch of geothermal technology or something like that we could keep the bills down a bit, lol.

  • How do you know that? Are you the inventor of wireless electricity?

  • no but i have a brain

  • pervert

  • Zzz... damn, give me the damn demonstration then talk about history... this video just waste over 3 mins of my life >_>

  • allen21478 is almost correct. He just forgot something. The records were taken by the government because the government gets more money from providing electricity this way, Remember that thing you get called an electric bill? There would be no way to monitor how much electricity a building or household was using with this WiTricity, So the files were stolen and it was never mass produced to get the government more money.

  • JP Morgan stopped funding the project because he said,"Where would I put the meter?" If Morgan couldn't profit from global wireless power, he wanted nothing of it. Tesla DID keep records. When he died in his hotel, the CIA stole his paperwork because it was a matter of national security. Tesla was supposed to be designing some sort of plasma gun for DoD.

  • NIKOLA TESLA!

I saw this wireless power on the telly once. It was pretty amazing.

  • BLACK MAGIC !

  • You'd still have to plug in the wireless source for energy wouldn't you?

I mean, it's not unlimited energy...

  • you would have atleast one cable connecting your house to a powerstation through cables underground.

There will always be cable. just underground

  • lol ive known this was at least POSSIBLE since i was like 10 years old =P was kinda wondering when somebody would figure out how to make it efficient and safe enough for use in consumer electronics...looks like i still have a ways to wait *sigh*

  • He always looks to his right when delivering a punchline...

  • pretty funny but you need to say more about the subject and cut down on your korny jokes. But still funny. New Subscriber.

  • I like his M.O better now, it grew on me :)

  • disagree... :)

  • pony. lol.

  • Metric system!

  • METRIC SYSTEM!!!

  • METRIC SYSTEM!!!!!!

  • They'd have to make the witricity free, because there's really no way to concentrate it onto certain points.

  • Originally, Tesla got his funding for Wardenclyffe through J.P. Morgan. Tesla had to lie about the project, saying he was trying to make the first transcontinental radio broadcast. However, Morgan didn't give Tesla enough money so he went back to get more, and accidentally mentioned that his goal was to wirelessly transmit energy, not to make the radio broadcast.

Then, Morgan cut the funding, Wardenclyffe was torn down, Marconi stole Tesla's technology, made the broadcast and stole the credit.

  • Actually, he wasn't lying. It was suppose to do both. Tesla was competing to send the first transatlantic radio broadcast, but another man beat him to it.

When Tesla announced his plans for wireless electricity, Morgan realized there was no money in it, and cut funding (and slandered his name, preventing him from getting funding elsewhere). Some say this accelerated Tesla madness.

  • Sorry, but I didn't mean to say that Tesla lied about the project, but I do believe he left out crucial details.

As far as the first transatlantic radio broadcast goes, Tesla would've made it if his funding hadn't been cut.

  • I don't know the original message your responding too, but if you think about it, in some situations, that's the best choice.

  • I do believe they had him killed because they couldn't meter the wireless electricity meaning they didn't continue to get rich. Tesla wanted to create free electricity for the masses and obviously the big companies didn't want that. Watched some 2hour video on the subject one time.

  • It's a shame (conspiracy, perhaps?) that Edison and Marconi are all over the textbooks, and yet Tesla -- the real genius -- is rarely mentioned.

  • i remember learning about this in school

this investors didnt want to invest in it because they couldn't find out a way to charge the people using the electricity

dont you love how money limit technological advancments??

  • Go Tesla!

  • make a video about caveman and their advanced technoligy

  • Great video.

  • Hey WYOTK, any info on the effects of WiTriciy on the human body (like if we all one day had it installed throughout our houses)? I'm just curious as to how this could affect the human body over time through prolonged exposure, if there is any exposure at all. I also think that wielding WiTricity would make static-zapping my friends alot more fun and a little more powerful.

  • Hahaha, "Prima donna, what do you want me to do, buy you a pony?" Love it.

  • tht was a good 1!

  • yes. i WOULD like a pony. :D

  • everybody it's waiting fow WItricity but 45%? come on! that's not worth me and my family getting cancer...at least 70% will.

  • you can buy wireless extension cords on thinkgeek i believe...

  • first

  • "no strings attached" and the joke about the metric system made me laugh.

  • wont it cook people o_o?

  • brett...is that his name?

  • Ah! But what if you run searing hot plasma through the bones of a black chicken?

    :P

I worked with a girl who told me about how as a girl in Mexico, here sister was sick so they went to a Bruja, who rubbed a black chicken all over her, while chanting, then killed the chicken. The sister did start feeling better.

    LOL!

  • OMG! No way!!!!

  • he wasnt crazy just very reclusive , people had problem getting in touch with him and he never replied he said he dispise regular people because they would not just understand his poi t of view his last real work was on the philadelphia experiment

  • With only 40% efficiency, I don't think that WiTricity is a viable option at this point. It could be viable if the technology imporves and efficiency is increased, it could be used to power appliances for short distances. But do you really want more radiation flooding your house than you already have (radio waves, ect).

  • I do hope that have WiTricity though.... It would help everyone! This should be on the front page, very informative....

  • PUT IN HQ videos, everyone is doing it.. :D
