  • @babayabadabadu Lol really man... what kinda loser gets offended at a joke said over a year ago...? If you're gay, thats your business. Dont get all bent outta shape b/c I find 'em funny.

  • I still can't believe that this film was released in 1959.When I first spotted it one late night, I initially thought that it might have been filmed sometime in the 1970s.

  • Hi Randy Fertel, I tried sending you this music video - for a reason to preserve history. It's all coming back to me - thank you for meeting with me to preserve the Mardi Gras New Orleans. I am sorry things did not work out for Carnival Brasil - where the grand-daughter of the Onasis family got married.

  • Cannes Film Award Classic-love it!

  • Obrigado Brasil! A great movie, I caught this on Turner Classic Movies channel. Did you guys see those Capoeira breakdancing low leg kicks Death tried to strike Orpheus with at the end? That shit was funny.

  • pretty people.healthier than now too. what has happened?

  • i always thought dude looked like a gay spider man lol

  • I love this death, the infinitely laconic Rio assassin in traditional death garb with capoeira street-fighting abilities. So very fitting to the sleaze and gaudiness of the whole movie.

  • @gobo0m ..Sleaze and guadiness? good thing the Acadamy Awards saw something different.

  • There is only one movie with Breno Melo that maybe you can find, Prisoner of Rio (1988). Is the history of Ronald Biggs, his train robbery and escape to Brazil! The Ball of Count Orgel (1970) is a great movie with Dawn but is also hard to find!

  • @heithmann Good info! Thanks! I'm looking for both right now!

  • Such BEAUTIFUL people.

I love the Beautiful and various shades shown.

This movie is one of my Favorites.

  • @lovelyjessie79 I agree with you. Each shade shown is just a beautiful reminder of the legacy and the silent story behind the initial population of varios Latin America countries.

  • @lovelyjessie79 The legacy of slavery, it's sad how badly those same shades are treated with disdain in much of the white world.

  • loved that bit of capoeira

  • @6elfauno9 That's what I love about this movie. It displays so much of the Brazilian culture. If you have never been after seeing this movie you feel as though you went for a month and came back home. The capoeira just added to the culture experience of the viewing.

  • does anybody know the name of the man that plays 'the death'in this movie?

alguem sabe o nome do actor quem é 'a morte'?

  • is the olympic medallist of 52 and 56 Adhemar da Silva!

  • What happened to the actress and actor who played Eurydice and Orpheus. I saw this movie when it first came out and have loved if for so long and have always wonder what other movies the members of the cast plyed in.

  • Unfortunately, Breno Melo (Orpheus) died on july 2008! He worked in 4 brazilian movies after this one, but stop acting in late 80's. Marpessa Dawn died in august 2008 (40 days after Breno) in Paris!

  • Thank you for that information. Do you know the titles of the 4 movies that Breno Melo played in and if Marpessa did any other movies? They were such beautiful people. I love the music and recently bought the movie soundtrack as well as the movie itself.

  • @heithmann They both left an incredible piece of work to share with many generations to come.
