  • Thank you for uploading this. I am from Pontardawe, now living in London for over 15 years. I am so proud to have spent my childhood in a part of the world that was beatiful and safe. The welsh language was a big part of my life and remains so. I am very moved when I hear these traditional songs sung so beautifully.

  • whats with the ridiculous amounts of dislikes?

  • This is an absolutely lovely rendition. Shadows most of the others I've heard so much, I can't even stand to hear them. I just keep playing this one over and over.

  • @sixgunner455 Thank you for your lovely comment.

  • @richpat going to upload some Mary hopkins welsh language covers of international songs soon :) please subscribe

  • My Mother used to sing this to me . Thank you so much for bringing back happy memories of Wales .

  • "While the water of the sea is salty

    And while my hair grows

And while a heart beats in my chest

I will be faithful to you..."

  • Soul stirring!!

  • yes indeed,

    thanks for your comment

  • I know this recording Pat !

Mary is accompanied by Gallagher and Lyle (not on that song )

and I know also who did that recording...

What a wonderful concert that was

  • mary makes these old welsh folk songs sound so simple and pure, when in fact they can be quite difficult to sing. I very much appreciate her songs, and I am glad richpat posts them. Something about nature's beauty in these old songs, that she understands so well.

  • Yes that is absolutely right...

If we keep the pressure up maybe, just maybe, she will record a whole new CD of beautiful Welsh songs...

    Bye for now

    Pat

  • A rare find. Thankyou.

  • Very nice rare recording, thanks for posting!

  • I can just say..

    Beautiful and so nice.

    Thank you, thank you, Pat.

    Tomoya
