This speech was a lapse in judgment. He's remained true to conservative values: fiscal responsibility; no military adventurism; and ensuring that the Executive Branch doesn't become too powerful. If he had been on the 2000 GOP ballot and won, America would be in much better shape than it is today; he would've fought a more effective War on Terror, balanced the budget, kept America's image in the world positive, and he wouldn't have listened to the stupid NeoCons who wanted to invade Iraq.
