  • Your daughter is so talented! I've been to Pont du Gard too :)

  • howcome she doesnt smile very much, is she just very focused on what shes doing??

  • @steflondon88 Yes, she is young & these are basically quick practices, not performances., done in seconds while we tour. Little kids don't smile when they are focusing on a fairly hard piece of music when they are practicing. She is a VERY smiley and joyful child...exceptionally so, which you can see by our many videos. Her nature is extremely joyous, but even a child like that is not constantly smiling. ;)

  • @soultravelers3 I stand corrected. what a grouch i must have been to say that.. im sorry

  • for children its never good to change the place to often...

children need stability (from wich the family is a big part, but also to have a "fix" home is important for children, especially in their first years)!!!

    but well...

  • @brubldi HOGWASH! I, like MANY people grew up with LOTS of moving & it helped me greatly in becoming very successful in life. Stability is given by a warm, supportive, loving family. Our child is luckier than most as she had more time with BOTH parents AND gets to see the world with them instead of just reading about it. She also lived in the same house for her first 5 years & has returned to same village in Spain for the last 4 years. Webcams & internet keeps relations connected 4 ever!

  • I <3 FRANCE

  • She really has potential to be very good in the future. I think it's wonderful that you allow her to learn so many instruments and to travel so much, but just watch out. If you spoil her too much in life, it's very dangerous. I'll understand if someone in the family has like a job that includes traveling a lot, but ... I don't know how to finish that... haha ^-^ Make sure she wants to become a musician when she's older or it maybe a waste...nyway, I hope a great future lies ahead of her =)

  • @ChaseAfterYourDreams Thx! Don't worry, we only spoil her with love & one can never have too much of that in life!

We travel the world non-stop since 2006 just as a way of life that allows us to enjoy more time together.

I don't think she wants to be a musician, nor a linguist with her 3 fluent languages, but they should serve her well in life & learning them enriches her in many ways + something she can pass on to her kids!

  • I don't think travelling a lot as a lifestyle is a way of spoiling a child. On the contrary, she gets way more enriching hands-on experiences. They don't seem to go to places for the luxe, but rather staying for a certain time long enough to know the place. That is interesting.

  • Thanks ulanis, You're right! We go slow, green and put thought into doing this in a way that enhances all of our lives. Our primary reason is to educate our child in a "hands on" way and have time together. The world is such a wonderful place to learn. ;)

The internet is also another part of the world that helps us so much as we go. I found an amazing violin teacher on Twitter who is from Russia and lives in the US, she takes lessons via skype webcam!

  • Ahh, Man, i love playing my violin, i wish i couldve started this younge, and gotten to tour. Now i have to wait until after highschool :( But, atleast i get to play a very beautiful instrament!!

P.S. Shes very good!!! I wish yall the best of luck :)

  • @rachelperson1 Thanks! It really is a wonderful instrument to play & so easy to travel with!

The great thing about starting instruments or languages early is it is easier that way & daily practice like brushing ones teeth becomes a habit.

She had just turned 6 when we shot this & now just turned 9 & is at the age where this early background allows her to compose, read music & sound out tunes & chords etc makes playing with music a delight!

    Enjoy your violin!

  • random ?

  • i rmember playing this a 6, i think!!! memories!! does she go to school?? you guys travel alot, and i think thats great!!

  • Thanks! Yes, we have been traveling non-stop since 2006! 32 countries so far! We homeschool all year and she goes to a local school in Spain in the winter months in her 2nd language (has for the last 4 years, but next year it will be Asia to immerse in Mandarin).

  • Wow!! that's awesome!! I've lived in France but that's it!! haha!!

  • great !

  • Thanks!

  • .....I've been there :D

I wish I could have learned the violin from that age :( Im finding it difficult and Im only on grade 2 hahaha

  • I remember playing this in the Suzuki books. XD

  • Cool! HyperAndHappy

Good name! Mozart is hyper and happy too! ;)

It is a very rare Suzuki kid who can play this at 5. She was the youngest playing it when we went to the SF Bay area Suzuki kids at Stanford Uni for a big concert. Most were around 10/11 that were playing at this level. She is not a prodigy, but she is talented and learns quickly.

She had a great Suzuki teacher, but sadly we have not found any in Spain or online yet.

  • and where do you live relly ?

    sorry for the question !!!!!!!!!

    ^^

i'm frensh , I'm 13 and i live in avignon next the pont du gars ^^

    good job ! Bye !

  • We live nowhere & everywhere right now

gothikGirlnoir! We have been traveling since 2006 so have no home now. We have wintered in tiny village in southern Spain near the sea for the last few years, so that is kind of like home to us now.

Lucky you! Nice place to live! I wish my French was as good as your English!

  • How old is she now? I think she's pretty young for a worl tour...

  • Today she is 8 1/2, but she was 5 when we began our world tour. She had just turned 6 when this was taken.

We travel slow which allows her to immerse deeply. She was a very early self taught reader & was reading Harry Potter at 4, so books have helped her world tour be more enriching.

She plays the violin and piano just for fun & the world tour is for her education & time to bond with parents and share this awesome experience together.

  • Suzuki method, I presume (from both the song and her technical quirks). As a violinist, and someone who used to be a Suzuki-trained violinist, I'd recommend finding something else. I feel that for me, personally, Suzuki stunted my music abilities. And my brother, a cellist, feels the same way about his Suzuki experience.

She's a great musician though. She has a great feel for music.

  • Thanks, she has always had a natural talent for music. Yes, Suzuki is one of those things that people have strong feelings for, both pro and con. We had a fantastic teacher who lived in the neighborhood, so I think it was a great beginning for her. She has been studying with a traditional teacher since we have been traveling. Also her piano is non traditional with VERY strong emphasis on theory that helps I think. The loving ,fun Suzuki ear training & technique was great for her early start!

  • i think for her old it`s very god, but i don`t like the song

    she`s very cute

  • such a talented girl

work on the tone and the bowing :)

and itd be nice if she could use a little bit more bow.

  • Thank you! Yes, she has been working on those areas!

  • ive beeeeeen there :P shes so cute!

  • Wow! It's great that you've started her early. It'll be great to see her a few years, she'll be amazing.

  • What a lucky and talented kid! If you have any recent footage of her playing the violin, I'd love to see it. I enjoyed watched the piano lessons very much!

  • Thanks TanzendenStern! We do have more video of her playing the violin. We are still traveling so will get it up as we can.

She actually would be doing better in Piano and violin if we were not traveling, but we do the best we can on the move.

She went the first 14 months without any lessons in violin & now her teacher in Spain moved, so violin has been a challenge on the road. She does practice every day tho! ;)

  • What a lucky and talented kid! If you have recent footage of her playing the violin, I'd love to see it. I enjoyed watching the piano lessons very much!

  • A GAZILLION STARS!

That's an amazing girl you've got there. I'm a bit jealous. xD

  • tune her violin first :P?

    shes cute

  • Why, she's better that ME!

  • Great job, tell her to continue to practice all the instruments and work on tone quality.

  • She is wonderful. It makes me so happy to see a continued interest in violin. It is my favorite instrument in the world and it is wonderful to see such a young and talented girl playing it. :)

  • I played that song on my violin a long time ago! Shes pretty good for how young she is

  • i really don't know anything about the violin so my comment doesn't count, but it sounds good to me!

  • 5☆5☆5☆5☆5☆tars from: Smi-ren-ger! wooonnnderful!

  • How adorable. :)

  • Not too shabby, she'll be amazing when she's older and had even more practice. The violin might be a little out of tune though. I used to play, and I wish I could pick it back up again, the violin is such an amazing instrument.

  • Arg. It's always a violin never a viola. :(

  • OMGGG

    I know how you feel!

Ive played viola for the past six years and I'm so dissapointed with the amount of publicity it gets and its lack of popularity. :/

  • omg i used to play the violin and i kno the song lol. is her name rly Mozart though?

  • well done for how young she is..

  • wow...

i remember getting ad cause i couldn't play that song...

it looks like shes gonna be an awesome musician wen she grows up.

  • That fiddle needs tuning, but god what a gift

  • I can play that song! :) It was one of the first songs I taught myself on the cello. That violin needs to be tuned, though - the notes are way off. I'm jealous - she's so lucky that she gets to travel all over the world at such a young age! Unfortunately, I've never even left the US yet =(

  • I remember playing that song ;)

  • these video's are amazing

seeing her perform in so many places makes me jealous

and the one of her in the sahara was pretty touching

  • WOW! What dedication from a 5 year old!

  • shes gonna be so amazing when she gets older

  • im only 12 and i did orchestra and i remember that song i did it when i was like 9 .. i just cant remember the songg!!!!! ;] well anyway good job !

  • that is quite good for a starter and even more so for a starter at the age she is at.

    keep it up and enjoy

  • her E string is out of tune :P

  • wow nice bowing.... definitely got some talent there

  • Now that's more like it, now I can hear her play and that was nice for a young starter.

  • ACTORS P3WN MUSICIANS!!

Oh man, am I mature or WHAT.

Anyways, nice playing. But I like fiddles better.

    Fiddles.

  • I love to see how you give your child a braod musical education - music is such a great thing for a child to have for a hobby!

I feel a little jealous of her, haha ;)

  • I'm impressed, but next time she plays she might want to get the violin tuned. Her A string was sharp and E was flat D:

  • I love what you are doing. She is amazing :)

  • Gaaaah, it's Perpetual Motion from the Suzuki book! My student's been playing a bit shy of a year and we're almost to this piece....oh boy. Your daughter is very cute! How amazing to get to do this!

  • I played this when I did Suzuki method on violin :) but now I play clarinet; i dislike the violin :/ but she sounds great ^^

  • Wow! She did such a nice job for being only five years old! I play the violin too, but I never could have done that when I was five.

  • thats cool

  • i can play that song... except i play is on bass

  • I could play a very nice trumpet to that.

  • is her name actually mozart?

  • I wish I was as talented at her age, wow!

I would be a lot beeter off, music wise, than I am now :(

It's a lot harder to learn how to read sheet music at 18 than 5... Kids are like sponges it's amazing hahaha!

And again, very good job and keep it up :)

  • Great!

I play the cello, and I was 12 when I learned that, but then I did start when I was 11, she's super cute!

  • lovely! she has a lot of enthusiasm! :-) tell her I think she's wonderful :-)

  • Bravo!

  • she played it better than id ever be able to. PROPS!

  • Great for one so young! If she keeps practicing, she'll be Amazing!

  • great playing...and for someone so young its fantastic to see a amazing young talent. Soon enough some depraved lonely person will put her down, but i doubt that will matter much when she is a grown woman playing her sweet melody to millions of fans

  • great!!! keep it up little girl!!

  • Shes very talented!

  • Is she using "suzuki method"?

I'm sure she'll play easily the violin (very soon)

  • Thanks! She was using the Suzuki method, but we could not find a Suzuki teacher where we winter in Spain, so this year we moved to a traditional style.

She has made some nice progress this year and is reading music for violin and piano.

  • I wouldn't reccomend the Suzuki method anyway, at the music school i went to asian violinists all had amazing technique but little expression, suzuki method gives you fast results on a technical scale but little originality in terms of musical presentation. However considering how young she is she shows talent and more importantly a genuine enjoyment for violin, hope your proud, lol :)

  • its out of tune... tune her violin... she seems like a star hmm probably 5years for now shell be a star.... nice keep posting i want to see her... play more... im 10 and dont like violin but i want to see her play she will probably be really good

  • Moving to a traditional meathod was probably a good move. I started at her age or maybe a bit younger. I never studied Suzuki and could always beat the Suzuki trained kids in auditions and competitions. By the time I was twenty most of the Suzuki trained kids were no longer playing, or were playing in civic orchestras while I had gained a spot in one of the world's best orchestras. One thing I would suggest would be to have her work hard on pitch matching. That needs to be done early.

  • She did it just great!

  • Wonderful! Nice to hear her play. That is a very hard song for one so little!! Good job.
