  • H, did you find out what was making the creaking noise?

My 60hp is making the same noise (much louder) I want to get a few ideas before I strip it down.

  • Watching further you see that it takes the OTHER/ Right SIDED lower cylinder bottoming out to start pulling the Left cylinder in ... therefore (seeing that the electric pump motor sounds normal) there is a DIFFERENCE in flow / or an obstruction to/in the left cylinder circuit ...

I would look at the flow diverter to the Left and Right cylinders ..... those units are pretty easy to work on ......

  • ... NOT low on oil .... Oil is RETURNING to the resevoir when the motor lowers, and what I see is that when the motor is almost to the bottom the lower TWO cylinders have to retract and the left on is NOT .... is the hose pinched on the left one ... maybe the cylinder rod is bent or rusted .. most likely a flow problem from the left cylinder.

Did you recently CHANGE anything in the REAR of the boat - strike anything ?? ... put something in the rear storage (battery) pinching the hose ...

  • needs oil and loosen the collers 1/4 turn on both sides of steering, piviot tube

  • i hvae heard worse!

  • sounds like your low on oil.
