Real music. Real people playing instruments without assisted computers. Bloody beautiful. Greatest lineup of all time. Improvising from their soul, now that's what I call rock n roll.
some guitarists try to perform, some - perform. Ritchie is celarly one of the very very few ones who simply lives inside the music, is sort of fused with it. no wonder he can manipulate with it so easily. just the way we manipulate our hands or legs...
Absolutely brilliant guitar playing from Ritchie Blackmore here. This, at a time where most other guitarists were just getting to grips with the Blues merging with Rock. The playing here is so versatile it's just unreal. How many genres were played by him in this performance? Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical - simply phenomenal! And the icing on the cake has to be the English national anthem at the end, especially when taking into consideration the country it's being played in! A true guitar God!
In fact , Richie here and Lord have both wrung the necks of most rockers and heavy metal musicians by this masterpiece of the best Classic Rock ever played
its tried and tested and yes withstands the test of time you can fuck it over two time it murder it but once you know yer shit yell know that rocks one bitch who never leaves
Led Zep had Blues and Country influences while Purple had Classical and Jazz influences infusing their rock ... I love both bands but I have always been a Purple man in the end.
@coreyagraph I have Segovia doing it on a Bach all-guitar collection. Given Ritchie's early classical training, it's no surprise he was exposed to it.
What a character Ritchie was / is! Of course he could play like blazes, but he was an entertainer of the first order as well. I have to laugh sometimes at the faces. Roger seemed to enjoy watching the show, didn't he?
@vw1302s Yeah, I thought I had read that somewhere too. If that's actually the case, then I'd be surprised if she still had it. I think she would have more likely sold it (either back to RB himself or to a wealthy fan/collector) than just held onto it for spite. Wherever it is today, I trust someone is enjoying what's left of it....If a guitar could talk, man, that one could tell some stories!
@RedGibsonsRock I also remember an interview where he said that he got rid of a Gibson because it was too easy to play. And that he preffered the sound of the Fender.
Just imagine going from 10 years 1953 to 1957 fast forward 1967 to 1970. Hendrix to Deep Purple. The sound shock that caught Planet Earth. Like what fuck is that? This is rapid creativity period that has never been done in the history of music 5000 years previous to this period and will never ever happen again so rapidly 5000 years in the future from the 1950s,1960s,1970s,and 1980s period of music

@RedGibsonsRock He's doing a solo project with his wife called Blackmore's Night, they're doing medieval music, its very wierd nothing like this

@Adamboms I like some of Blackmore's Knight. I have to be in the right mood for it though. And that mood doesn't strike real frequently.
I guess I'm glad he's got something he's into so much. They take that whole trip a lot further than I could, though.
