Outside of the blue eyes, Regan actually has naturally red hair (she dyed it black for her previous role on Legend of the Seeker). Regan also has a fuller figure, while Fox's is a bit more emaciated, especially as of late. So there are stark physical differences. In terms of acting, they couldn't be more different. Regan is quite clearly the superior actress.

I think the reason "The Legend of the Seeker" is garnering the popularity that it has is not because of the acting/storyline, both of which are a bit clichéd and sub par. I think the show is gaining in popularity because a lot of guys tune in to see Bridget Regan, because she is one of the most exquisitely beautiful women on TV. If they want to increase the ratings all they have to do is put her in a more revealing outfit that shows her midriff - a la Gabrielle from Xena Warrior Princess.
