Love this... it is my all time favourite ad, I love the tune the whistling and the colours are beautiful. I had it saved on my Sky+ but erased it by mistake it is good I can see it here
cool!!...i din't know that...if HONDA was a Woman, I'd Fuck that bitch all night lol....And if it were An eight ball of cocaine i'd overdose on that shit in one sNiff...MMMMMMif i was a rabbit, and HONDA was a carrot, i'd get the carot and fuck myself with it HAHAH...okay i'll stop:)
That's a great ad! I like the real twee 1960/1970s influence about that... it was a real pleasure to watch, all the colours, the whistling, the husky vocals, nicely dreamy, and being on cocaine, that ad would be absolutely amazing, mind you, you don't have to be on any drugs to see how good the ad is.. one thing I will say for Honda, their ads are always original :)
If Americans were allowed to buy the same efficient vehicles available in Europe and Japan, we wouldn't be importing any petroleum, or fighting Zionist petro-banking wars, or going into alleged "debt" to the Federal Reserve Corporation and other private central banks. But who bribes the puppet politicians? (Open Secrets)
There is no place for the public to buy natural gas for their car within 50 miles of my home so that would be a stupid choice for a consumer around here. The diesel averages 44mpg, as good as the hybrid and natural gas. The diesel will last 2x longer than the others could ever hope to. Get out of your usa shell and look at other countries where diesel has proven to be reliable and economical (they've had higher prices for much longer in Europe).
I don't know why Honda decided to go with a diesel motor, it makes more sense to make a Natural Gas vehicle instead. Cheaper to operate and not beholden to the big oil corps. Civic GX baby!
Wow honda welcome to 1994. ooh clean non clattering diesels. ooh hybrids get awesome mileage. Honda stick to your little rice rockets and leave the diesels to the big boys like Navistar International and Cummins I want reliability not fuckin rainbows and birds
It's not that Honda was in the past, it's that the consumers have the smoking diesel mindset even today. A smart company would choose to not stray far from consumers' mindsets and this is exactly what Honda is doing.
I defo agree with you pal...they always get the keep crap adverts like bloody sheilas gay wheels when they should keep adverts like this...uplifting happy and catchy hah :D Thanks for putting this on dude! HONDA ALL THE WAY!!!!
I have to agree with Redbeast2. Viper's comment about being a proud American is irrelevent and ignorant. It doesn't take a genious to figure out that Honda is making an effort to change the negative image that diesels have in this country. What does the fact that most Americans have a negative stereotype of diesel engines have to do with being a "Proud American"? I'm sure if this was a VW ad campaign, Viper would be praising it.
I'm an american and I'd rather drive a diesel Honda than any inefficient American piece of junk. Too bad most Americans are too ignorant to see the truth about our own auto companies, or too arrogant to admit it.
excuse me? honda is making an effort to making diesels cleaner? what happened to the germans who have been dealing and making diesels for a century?
honda is not doing shit compared with other european car companies with their diesels, and don't even get me started on toyota with their butt ugly prius or whatever the hell its called.
Benzlover, WTF are you talking about? You're defending German diesels yet they aren't even in the discussion and no one has criticized them. This whole thread is about ignorant Americans who criticize Honda for their diesel technology just because they're a Japanese company. My reference to VW was in regards to the fact that those same ignorant Americans wouldn't be showing their biggotry if it was a German ad as opposed to a Japanese ad.
That reference went right over your head and you somehow interpreted it as a slight on VW. It's not my fault you have poor reading comprehension skills. Apparently your lack of knowledge regarding the new Honda diesel engines is lacking as well. You wouldn't say something as stupid as "honda is not doing shit compared to other european car companies..." if that was not true.
The fact that they have developed a clean diesel engine that is not dependent on a urea injection process is significant and sets it apart from what the Germans are doing. Does this mean it's better? Not necessarily, just different. Please point out to me where in this discussion where someone has said that the German's haven't developed clean diesel techonology?
right, #1. no, I did not interpret it as a slight on VW. this comercial is too stupid looking even though they somehow got Keillor to narrate.
#2. I'm NOT two, so stop talking like I am. call me prejudiced if you will, but honda has only recently bin doing this just because everyone else cuz thats were the money is, greedy bastards, except, ditto, american car company's.
I'm just saying credit is due where credit is due, and thats with germans. 'yall happy now?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
That's where you're wrong. I'm not a child, I'm insulted that a company would try and lull me into a sense of security with a happy song all while saying very very little. I would NOT be happy if this was a VW ad. I've never even seen a VW TDI OR JEEP CRD ad! Have you?
In response to an earlier comment by kazimann, America doesn't have "ridiculously high emissions regulations", it's Europe that has ridiculously low emissions regulations. Laugh at us for not having low-sulfur fuel until last year, but our standards for air quality (especially CA) are not ridiculous.
typical japanese car ad campaign. Says so very little but has so many pretty colors! Fuel economy? Tier 2 Bin 5? Power? Displacement? Nothing. VW TDI's haven't smoked or been loud in a very long time. Honda is playing to general America's pathetically outdated misconception of what diesels are. I am a proud American owner of an '05 Jeep Liberty CRD and an '06 VW Jetta TDI. Actually tell us something in your commercials, Honda, instead of playing to the lowest common denominator.
"I am a proud American owner..." or "typical japanese car ad"
for anyone to realize what stereotyping redneck you are. The whole point of the commercial is to grab people's attention, not to educate them about the specifications of the engine. Diesels are not popular in the US because of people's misconceptions and this ad addresses this.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Where did you get redneck from my comment? I'm ignorant because I've known about the benefits of diesel technology for years and don't need some fanciful advert to sell it to me? Well then sell it, Honda! What is so much better about your diesels?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
And somehow I'm stereotyping. In case you live in a cave, MPGs and power sell. When people see how you can have your cake and eat it too, they'll buy a diesel. They don't need animation. How couldn't you get that out of my comment? You're the ignoramus.
I own a mercedes diesel, and yes, the sound does grow on you!
as for the cock sucking comment below, I'm not a redneck and I've never stereotyped anyone my whole life, and I also agree that this is a typical japanese ad.
This advertising campaign should be running in the USA now. Honda will need at least 2 years to rebrand diesel in America. I look forward to their arrival in 09.
There needs to be more diesels in America. The problem is that crappy high sulpher diesel you's got over there, and the ridiculously high emissions regulations.
Diesels are far superior over hybrids in many ways.
stupid commercial why would anyone want a quiet diesel. My trucks are loud as they can be and porin thick black smoke over all your hondas
