    A true if less than appreciated legend.

  • Definitely among my favorite cuts by Smack's outfit - drummer Walter Johnson does his best to stir things up here, but that sax section as a whole is the real hurricane that shoots the band into orbit here and blows the doors off of anything in the way. Love every second of this one!

    Now THIS is what I mean when I talk of authentic hardcore swing.

    Of note: This was producer John Hammond's first session, December, 1932.
