You have to love how almost all of the NPC's at least had character to them, instead of being filled with random generics like Final Fantasy that tell you the most useless information.

Every time I'm in a scary place this music plays in my head. This song actually gave this map an ominous feel. With the creaking and waves adding in on the music. This game will be my favorite mario game until the day I die...Unless they have it in heaven where it should be.
This was the scariest place as a child for me to visit. I remember I would bide as much time as I could before I finally got sunken into the water by the first whirlpool before you enter the ship itself. I got a sense of fear from not ever coming back as soon as I entered that forsaken vessel.
No offense, but I HIGHLY doubt it, Square Enix is busy doing other junk and I don't think Nintendo would do it anyway, besides the fact Square doesn't make Turn-Based RPG's anymore, so even if it did, it would probably be crap, I'd love more then anything for this sequel to come out, but the expectations would be so ridiculously high, it would be nothing short of a miracle for it to be a good turn based, graphically updated version of this, aka Seven Stars 2, I'm not holding my breath
Dude I would love nothing more then to see Geno and Mallow again, and get a Mario game that isn't so bright and cheery it hurts, lol but that would be too much common sense, and judging by how Square Enix and Nintendo act these days, Common sense is nothing short of a super power to them, lol

This music gives more of a final fantasy 5 temple sorta sound behind the sound effects that make it a underwater sunken ship song.. you know? Listening closely it reminds me of the ancient library, Not sure why.
Now why weren't the characters of this game sold to Nintendo yet. Square isn't even doing anything with their Mario characters so why even bother keeping them. Ditch what you don't need and continue making FF games until you drive the franchise into the ground.
SMRPG was underplayed since it came out so close to the N64. if it had came out a bit earlier, it would be properly recognized for what it is. Definitely my favourite mario game.

@ToolOtaku In Mario SuperStar Saga, the princess is kidnapped at some point, but it is not Bowser who kidnaps her, it's Bowletta. It's good that at times, Nintendo changes the plot like in Super Mario RPG. I also enjoyed Super Mario RPG, but I just wanted to let u know it's not the only Mario game with Princess Peach being kidnapped as the main theme.
To be fair on one point, Princess Peach was not kidnapped in Superstar Saga. Just her voice was stolen. Also, Bowser wasn't the one who kidnapped Peach in Thousand-Year Door, it was a new villainous group named "The X-Naughts," and Peach joins the party in Super Paper Mario.
Really pretty much EVERY Mario RPG is good and tries something new (well, except the original Paper Mario plot-wise, which used a straightforward "Bowser kidnaps Peach" plot, but with more story than usual).

This place is just cheap, they throw toadstool in your party only to have her be murdered by all of the ghosts and shit in here and you can't do anything about it except force all of your pick me ups down her throat.

when i first fought jonathan jones i thought he was gonna be hard but he never was because i ALWAYS over-leveled myself i was like lvl 22 when i fought him so yea i really breezed through the game. thank god for over-leveling.
he was a real boss. took a while to break him. because when he turns red his magic defense is up. had two spells to worry about diamond saws, and mega drain.

Oh god.. the password took me FOREVER to figure out the second time. First time was when I was like 4 and guessed it first try. i thought "What do Pirates like?" and guessed pearls. but the second time (about two years ago) It took me FOREVER cause I had forgotten, and did the whole thing legitimately. I had actually gotten a blister on my left thumb. ^_^
mario-peach-geno. save FP for healing with Peach and use geno's strongest special that u have every few turns. have mario or geno use syrup when need be, and u should win. Johnny is hard lol. if u still cant win, grind a few lvls up.

Oh yes, that would've been awesome. As a matter of fact, that's what I was expecting when I first played the game. If they re-release SMRPG, they should definitely add him in as a party member. I always thought that there should be one extra character in the game.
I actually thought he would join the party the first time I played too. He helped you corner Yardiovich and called you his friend. Then he just kinda left.
dude, when I was 6-7 years old (10 years ago), this part got me stuck for SO long lol. I got the game used so there was like 4 lvl 30 slots. I was at the Quiz part at the end of the game and the question was what was the password to the sunken ship. Thats how I figured it out lol. True story. I thought I was pretty smart for figuring that out at 6 yrs old :D.
i see, i didn't know the quiz master asked the question about the secret pass, although it's not easy figuring it out, so u did quite well to find it like that on your own at that age :)
i havent got that far yet, I beat johhny this afternoon, and then got woned by a star on the way back XD, and the puzzle, it took me an hour XD, I went from oyster hen took 15 mnutes then thought of pearl, since pearls come from clams but was like oh waitonly 5 letters
15 minutes later Ah i see pearls! put it in nothing happened tryed again for another 15 minutes, then accidently talked to king calammari XD and the 3d maze, It was actually easy for me, and for 6 you were good ;)
It must have taken me probably a few days to figure out the password when I was 13. But those were the good ol' days. Now my SNES seems to be busted and my mom won't let me play video games :(
lol everyone had trouble at the password part. i was 11 and couldnt figure it out worth a shit. mainly cause i dint know what the fuck a pearl was. that password held me back for at least a couple of weeks till my friend told me it.
lol I fortunatley found it on the 1st day without any help but if you really needed help on that part I would've suggested looking it up in a walkthrough or somehting XD
Wow... me and my uncle had so much trouble finding the password 11 or 12 years ago. I mean, he used a dictionary to search words that could actually work. My aunt told me that he was so lost in the game while looking for it. Lol.
I always found it odd that Jonathan Jones and his crew had eyes in their mouths. Like they were in costume...There were a lot of monsters like that though.

@Drakeman69 No, but I I could never figure out some of the puzzles to get the hints, and I said to myself, "It's gotta be Pearls." Then I was retarded and have a bad time with the entering the passcode blocks cause I was little, though I had the password wrong, bought the strategy guide for just that part. All it said on the page, "The Password is Pearls. Enter it in the blocks." Argh blargh rarrrrrr

@Drakeman69 lol i thought i was the only one who thought it was oyster, its found under the sea, they should have gave a hint of "it was found in a clam", something specific, either way those were fun challenges to get the hints, and glad i got this on the virtual console ,password=PEARLS

Oh yes, that would've been awesome. As a matter of fact, that's what I was expecting when I first played the game. If they re-release SMRPG, they should definitely add him in as a party member. I always thought that there should be one extra character in the game.

I LOVE the sunken ship part of the game... and Johnny is a very unique and charismatic character :) One of my favorites from this awesome game.
**at the end of the game, I LOVE the orange star scene where he's looking into the distance.. it's so pretty~**

dude, when I was 6-7 years old (10 years ago), this part got me stuck for SO long lol. I got the game used so there was like 4 lvl 30 slots. I was at the Quiz part at the end of the game and the question was what was the password to the sunken ship. Thats how I figured it out lol. True story. I thought I was pretty smart for figuring that out at 6 yrs old :D.

i havent got that far yet, I beat johhny this afternoon, and then got woned by a star on the way back XD, and the puzzle, it took me an hour XD, I went from oyster hen took 15 mnutes then thought of pearl, since pearls come from clams but was like oh waitonly 5 letters
15 minutes later Ah i see pearls! put it in nothing happened tryed again for another 15 minutes, then accidently talked to king calammari XD and the 3d maze, It was actually easy for me, and for 6 you were good ;)

lol everyone had trouble at the password part. i was 11 and couldnt figure it out worth a shit. mainly cause i dint know what the fuck a pearl was. that password held me back for at least a couple of weeks till my friend told me it.

Wow... me and my uncle had so much trouble finding the password 11 or 12 years ago. I mean, he used a dictionary to search words that could actually work. My aunt told me that he was so lost in the game while looking for it. Lol.

I always found it odd that Jonathan Jones and his crew had eyes in their mouths. Like they were in costume...There were a lot of monsters like that though.
