  • you people are wrong, dale was not number three, he was number ONE!

  • ....i've never seen a more badass pit crew

  • his answer to Ned at 2:08 says everything

  • He went doing his favorite thing and it better to burn out then fade away R.I.P #3

  • He went doing his favorite thing and it bnetter to burn out then fade away R.I.P #3

  • the fact that he survived that wreck but lost his life in such a light crash is so depressing... a true legend

  • Chocolate Myers, what a guy! Been with Childress that long, can't imagine if all those years was with Earnhardt, had to have been a really close friend.

  • how did he servive this and not datonya

  • @smokey8D That's what everybody asks... he survive all the horrid crashes, but yet not Daytona? Daytona was nothing! But a concrete wall is a different story I guess.

  • @TatianaSword FUCK you sir

  • @TatianaSword What do you do with your life? You go around on all these dale videos and talk so much shit. You're not funny. You're not cool. You're fucking immature scum of the earth. Get a fucking life.

  • @TatianaSword dude have respect the man died its a mood point

  • @TatianaSword

If your gonna cuss at least learn to spell, and another thing you disrespectful asswipe, Big E is dead, why don't you show a little respect. Go crawl back up that monkeys ass you were hatched from...Asshole

  • God, his crash at 1:01 looks worse than his fatal crash at Daytona...

  • @thetwenty0ne exactly....its like i just dont understand.e came out walking from this crash and and the other one no disrespect but it look like it was a little tap.im sorry im just upset.its like everytime i look at this video or even his other interveiws i kinda wanna cry because i just felt sorry for him.(sigh)i dont know what it is i just feel emotional whe i look at his interveiws

  • Statement at 3:27 describes it all. I bet you HE would still be racing now...RIP.

  • man i must say..Dale has had a huge impact on Nascar, that stalking black car in the mirror is a threat! what i life he had..he went out as he should have, in the fast lane in a historic race..i believe it was meant to be,and he was unselfish with it!..and at .47 classic take out move..yea it was on Dale, but he done it many times..that is a bad wreak..shit!..really cool they gave the crew a nod there..

  • I'm not even into nascar but earnhardt made me watch everytime I'd flip the channels when I was young I would stop when I seen that GM Goodwretch car this guy is what Jordan is to basketball and gretzkey is to hockey he's a legendary figure someone that will draw your attention even if your not into that sport you had no choice but to reconize him as the best at what he did

  • I want a moustache ride!

  • you know what i like about him... he didn't say I... he said WE

  • I think to Dale he never would have admitted he was the best because he always said i think my dad was the best!

  • Yea Dale....you were the best.

  • lol uncle dale loves to win dnt he?

  • I am pretty sure those sunglasses are the sole reason NASCAR fans hated Jeff Gordon for so long.

  • It's hard to believe it's been almost 10 years already. Still seems like it happened yesterday.

  • FOREVER THE MAN FOREVER A FAN RIP NASCAR

  • @sindermugsy damn right brother. idc what any of these new NASCAR fans or bandwagon fans say. this was HELL OF A DRIVER in any form of racing dammit. fuck your kyle busch or jimmie johnson.this is a man i hope to be.passionate about fishing and hunting and just a true southern man. its why i have a 3 tattoo on my arm

  • oh how i miss seeing that 3 on the racetrack.

  • Bring back CBS Fox sucks. I used to love the intro music. They were better at covering than any of these clowns covering it today..I wish Dale was still here racing....Kryle wouldn"t stand a chance.....I hope Harvick keeps dumping him next year....

  • i love him. and miss him so much

  • he raced for strictly the love of the sport. which is the best kind of athlete to watch. because you know they're gonna bring it every day no matter what other factors are going on around them as far as injuries, money, sponsorship, competition, or whatever.

  • "Money's never been a factor, we raced when we didn't have any..."

  • @PeterMullock Aint that the truth............

  • Cant believe he survived that wreck at dega only to be done over by such a lesser looking crash at daytona. His legacy will live on forever

  • @g0ing2n0where In his Daytona crash all the forward momentum of the car shifted directly into the wall, at the Talladega crash he kept forward momentum and didnt strike the wall with the same direct impact. I will agree that the Talladega crash looked alot worse.

  • haha "HE'S A DIRTY ROTTON DEVIL !!!! "

  • @deering1134 it was "scoundrel" which was even more hilarious

  • its amazing how he survives this, but dies in the daytona 500 wreck

  • @racestarter88 plus the music they play, it's just an erie feeling the whole time.

  • one of a kind no one else will ever come close!

  • RIP dale

he died doing what he loved. thats the best way to leave the earth.

  • He seems to have been a very nice person. His wife is beautiful. But, BUD... king of beers? Drink some real beer from Poland, Czech Republic or Germany!!!

  • I wish racing still was what it used to be when Dale was around it was alot more fun and entertaining. Im a J. Gordon but when dale died part of nascar did too. Then they screwed everything up.

  • He looks like scatman.

  • Notice how he says "we", we we... coool..

  • 2:26 Love the eye roll!

  • Pretty all-star crew

Dave Rodgers, Jimmy Elledge, Mark "Hollywood" Armstrong, and Chocolate Myers.

    only 3 people I haven't heard of!

  • @SparkPlugRocks i would replace dave withe chad kanus, or ray evernham

  • In today's NASCAR 17.0 s is a slow stop now it's 13.0 s is a good stop. Dale Earnhardt will always be my favorite driver

  • man i miss dale,, i am a dale jr fan

  • i still say that he would have won championship number 8 or even more had he died

  • Hero to many, Beloved by All. RIP Dale

  • yeah they do. take a left. he was a really hard man, but face the facts people he is an old ass bitch. dale appeared to me in a dream. he said "winston-salem". i said you are a douche. richard petty sat on my cock. hes gonna take in rear tire himself in person

  • The older dale junior gets the more of his daddy i see in his face.

  • @quasiphatpaul you must like guys.

  • @turntomurder You're the one saying richard petty sits on your cock dude not me.

  • I'm not a religious person, but Dale.. you're in a much better place!

    R.I.P!!

  • What does he say at 3:45 - 3:55? Need to quote him for this project I have. Thx

  • RIP Dale

  • now its just....i gotta get a good finish to make my sponsers happy or i'll be happy if we finish in the top 10 so we can get get some good points for the chase. Bullshit. IF only race drivers got paid what drivers did back in the day, maybe we'd have good ol' racing like we had in the early 90's.

  • The reason why dale is the best is yes because he raced to win....but its the mentality that he and every other old school driver had. Win so we can pay the bills and feed our family. Drivers didnt get the massive pay days drivers today get. Back then...if you didnt win...you went home empty handed and with racing being your job, that wasnt good. Dale fought for everything he had. He was a mans man. He was loved by us blue collar workers because he was like us. He raced to live and lived to race

  • ned knew who was the best

  • He survived that crash, but he died in one that looked routine and not as dangerous as this one.

  • That crash looked dangerous, he rammed full speed into an effing wall.

  • Dale, you are the greatest driver to ever grace a track, and the best the world has ever gotten to know.

You were and always will be the best!

    RIP Dale Earnhardt

    1951 - 2001

Notice, even Earnhardt's crew is Intimidating!

  • R I P Dale

  • R . I . P Dale sr for ever it was sad when they annouced you dead if they would have a air bag u would have made it out of that car maybe with a broken or something

  • Jarrett said it right, I think your the best. Jarrett raced with Petty, Pearson, Yarbourough, Allison, Waltrip, etc.....he should know.

  • "I just love to race, I don't claim to be the best. I just want to win." Only if everbody had that mentallity still, now a days it's more like this, "I just love to get paid, I got a big ego, and I just want to get a good points day."

  • Absolutely! People just don't have the sheer out-and-out desire to win races any more. When a guy is 3 seconds behind a leader with 10 laps to go, too many people go "oh well, ill get 2nd and a bunch of money, thast good enough" Dale Snr would say "hell no, i want that win" and he'd chase down the leader and 9 times out of 10 he WOULD win. Awesome driver, RIP.

  • 5:27.. "A bunch of pit stops under 17 seconds.." Amazing look at today.. come in the leader and have a 16 second stop.. your in 20th...

  • At 3:27...it says it all. Ned knows.

  • R.I.P. Dale sr

  • Before SAFER Barriers, COTs and HANS devices

  • @mnemt when drivers still had respect for one another. It was a much different era, because competitors wouldnt sacrifice the safety of another for their own glory. Earnhardt knew it was an accident. Today, that would be considered dirty because half the drivers out there know nothing of car control.

  • @snappy452 what do you no bout it FUCK HEAD

  • Comment removed

  • @babyboo3571 probably a lot more than you and your 15 year old vocabulary do, dumbass.

  • @mnemt They had the White Device though. Much like the HANS. Neil Bonnett was going to test it at Daytona

in 1994. Neil was suppose to wear it right after that 1rst practice, he never got the chance.

Don't know what ever happened to the White Device, most drivers said they didn't like it, just like how they didn't like the HANS at first.

I really wish Neil was wearing it that day.

  • @mnemt Most people say it took dale dieng to make safer cars R.I.P dale

  • hard headed as hell but awseome driver rip dale

  • Atleast Dale had a son that loved racing, so now he can pass it on to his son. :P

Dale was the best, and always will be FOREVER!! :) No one can take that away from him.

  • jeff gordon did

  • lol jeff gordon at 2:25

  • I miss Dale Sr. so much, used to love seeing him wearing that Atlanta Braves hat!

  • haha jeff gordon looks like a duesh bag

    rip dale earnhardt

    we miss ya

  • I agree Ned

  • wow.

    55 races without a win!

    unbelievable

  • @pwnzor3000 He went 59 before his next win in the Daytona 500 of '98. In this race he finished 29th

  • @adame3383 Thanks for that ;) lol

He was still the best though.

  • I yes dumbass's your NECk can only move so far. Ask Dale that.

  • You didn't have to call me any names...I was just giving my opinion as to what contibuted to his death. I've seen Ken Shrader hit head on into the wall for a qualifying race in 1998 and he lived. I will not stoop to your level. God Bless you.

  • I honestly believe the August 31,1997 incident where Dale Earnhardt blacked out was a small part of the cause of his death in the accident in 2001. It was never diagnosed properly when it first happened in 1997. Anything that affects the head and brain should really be diagnosed immediately.

  • @tjazz05 It actually was later diagnosed as a chemical reaction like Dale was talking about. He had a fresh tomato and some actron which is a muscle relaxer. Eating a tomato allows you to take in more fluids and become better hydrated. Dale normally ate the tomato before races, the day at Darlington he took the actron as well and he had a chemical reaction. It had nothing to do with his death which was from a basular skull fracture.

  • NASCAR isn't fun anymore.

  • Legends NEVER die.

  • @nadeau1064 suxs but they do

  • It was after that wreck at Talledega that DW's wife, Stevie, started giving Dale a scripture passage before every race to tape in his car. If she didn't find him to give him the scripture he looked for her. I think Stevie knew Dale needed the encouragement and strength at first to get over the fear. The last scripture at the 2001 Daytona 500 was Psalm 18:10. Stevie came to the track that day just to give it to Dale. You can read about it on Internet. Type a search: "Dale Earnhardt scripture."

  • I remeber watching the race where he blacked out, i was wtf?

    there will never be another.

i really enjoy the old themes they had..i really enjoy the one abc(i think it was abc) would use at the end of they're Daytona 500 broadcasts

  • That is the one thing I always loved about Earnhardt. He sat there with 7 championships and 76 wins, and when asked if he thought he was the best, he still denied it. Dale Earnhardt was very successful, but still remained very humble, he never got a big head. I still miss him too.

  • ive watched nascar since i was old enough to move. ive never seen anyone get close to earnhardt in talent, charisma, or consistency. i have no grudge against gordon, i mean, he has more wins than earnhardt, but if dale was around, than nascar would have another driver break the 100 win mark. (i am sure that he would beat pearson in the winning department.)

  • "He's a dirty rotten scoundrel." HAHAHAHA! Great line.

  • They didn't call him "Jaws" for nothing

  • love Dale rolling his eyes after it, too.

  • true measure of a champ, never admitting you're the best...Gordon, Earnhardt, Petty, Pearson, Waltrip, none of them ever say they're the best...this Gordon fan says Earnhardt rocks! It hasn't been the same without him.

  • he was the best. ive watch nascar since i was born and never saw someone with so much talent. no disrespect to petty but all he had to do back in the day is ride along cause he had the best equipment. the only driver who would have been close to dale and possibly better than jeff was davey allison. by the way if you have the chance check out the 1993 die hard 500. the best race never talked about in my opinion. thanks for putting up the sr. videos. they bring back many a memorie.

  • Even his crew was Gs none, you see none of em smiled during the broadcast when they were showing them :)

  • i wonder wut chocolate myers is doin. is he a manager of some sort at rcr/dei?

  • chocolate myers is on Sirius NASCAR radio doing a show called "Tradin' Paint". He was involved with the RCR museum at one point I believe, but not to much with DEI...

  • i wish he retired after this... at least he would still be alive.

  • I'm glad he didnt. He won the Daytona 500 after this and he won at Bristol and Talladega three more times and he won at Atlanta beating BLabonte in a narrow victory. I can't imagine Dale Earnhardt not racing, he died the right way.

  • Dang That Was more gruesome then the Daytona wreck and he died at Daytona I bet If he was alive Now he would have way More cup wins!

  • I bet if he was alive now Nascar would be more exciting then what is now

  • this was greatest race race went from 17-1 in like 4laps and won

  • What are you talking about?

  • He's talking about the 2000 Winston 500 Dale's last win he came from 17th to 1st in 4 laps to lead it. The greatest race, I agree.

  • I had no idea anyone was on that subject.

  • @Nascarfever This was 1997, he finished 29th in this race after being caught up in the big one.

  • Best interview yet, shows the real Man.

  • Jerk didn't return the compliment.

  • ruzer is Right his Impact At Daytona Wasnt As bad as this one I think this one Weakend him and The one and Daytona finished him

    RIP DALE SR

    1951-2001

  • i think what the retard below me meant to say was surprised that wreck didn't kill him and the wreck that did i kill appeard to be nothing

  • if i could meet you face to face right now, they'd be puttin me in handcuffs after i whoop your mother fuckin ass

  • I think he meant that this wreck should have been to one to kill him not the one at daytona

  • yea hopefully.its hard to tell.i had just got done dealin with someone sayin shit about earnhardt before i posted that comment anyway

  • Lol I understand perfectly why cant people just shut up about him and be respectful? lol

  • exactly.some people just have no respect, same with any kind of person idolized like him

  • they all went every which way

    some are on juniors crew

    some are on harvicks

  • Going to Harvick's crew isn't going anywhere. It's the same crew.

  • What happened to the guys on Earhardt's crew?

  • @vitoduval Jimmy Elledge is a crew cheif for the Red Bull Team. Mark Armstrong changes tires for Steven Wallace, Chocolate Myers is a radio host on Sirius NASCAR Radio, not sure about the other guys.

  • That was a hard lick...I still miss this man, racing is not the same with the #3 not out there. For me at least, I don't think it'll ever be the same.

  • me either man me either

  • This was a great interview..He didnt have a terrible 97' unlike 92' but In my mind he drove hurt most of 97 & 98 after the crash in the spring race in 98'. I honestly belive he wasnt himself until 99.

  • I'm a die-hard Gordon fan, but NASCAR just isn't the same without Dale. He was the greatest.

  • 97 was a rough year. That whole season he had no win at all. But come the 1998 Daytona 500 the streak ended

  • That was cool.
