As is usually the case with Redemption, this album is deep and rich in musical sound and lyrics. You guys did another great job with this album! Thank-you!
I am not too impressed with Ray's vox on this album, to be honest. His singing on the Journey tune, "Edge of the Blade", is particularly weak and forced.
As well, I am NOT into the guitar sound. Too thick and undefined ... certainly for much of what this music calls for. It's unfocussed and sounds like a wet batch of cement.
cmon...this is ridiculous...lets get real...This mortal coil and snowfall on judgment day are both pretty much just medleys of the first three albums. For SnowFall i actually bothered to go through and find each exact track that i was being errr 'referenced'?? ...actually i still have my review...i can post it if anyone is interested...I loved their first 3 albums... particularly 1 and 3...
@nvandyk I wanted to find my high octane review Origins i did back in the day when it was released on itunes it was a really steller review but it seems to have disappeared. I semi slammed Snowfall in a review i wrote for a friend when it was first released. I posted it here: hmmm cant seem to post a link here and its too long to paste...check out vivace at sputnikmusic
I checked it out...wow, let's just say I don't hear anything that you are hearing. Keep Breathing is about my daughter being legally blind...has nothing to do with Sapphire. B&WW sounds NOTHING like Bleed Me Dry. I could go on, but to each his own. I appreciate you putting the effort into it, at least, and glad you liked some of it! I now return you to your Cannibal Corpse lyrics. ;)
@nvandyk I really wish it was my itunes Origins of Ruin review you had read instead of this...When that album came out lets just say i could really identify with that character on the cover and it was just so fantastic. That i was critical about a song about your daughter is awful, i am sorry...I guess have done my best to ignore the inspiration for your music. I know it sounds terrible but in a way its a compliment. Its(for the most part) brilliant music. The rest in some sense is irrelevant.
@vivace679 Take 2...don't give it another thought, man. Other than thinking that you're wrong because those songs don't like the other other ones! ;) Hope you like the next one more and thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts!
@ZGoten They definitely are for me! Great melodies, great virtuosity, right amount of heavyness,... Simply amazing! Each of their albums is great in its own way. However, I wouldn't really recommend their first one, which is still good, though.

I really loved Snowfall, and you say this is better, so it's a must for me!
By the way, can I expect a review for the new Steven Wilson solo album(s) later?
