Phil Soussan wrote " Shot in the Dark " and recorded it in a band before joining Ozzy's band during the Ultimate Sin sessions. He brought it to Ozzy who enjoyed a hit with it. They've fought over the royalties of that song ever since.
@mpellegran almost. actually, he invented the Sousa Phone, a giant battery-free, early type of mobile phone. it is a big funnel which circles around your body, converging into one's ear. the user can thereby hear a friend whisper to him for up to 4 kilometers distance.
I remember when Quiet Riot came to our small hometown in the 90's. I was up front getting crushed by the crowd. It was a painful experience! This guy next to me said, "move and let my girlfriend upfront." But I held my ground, being 5'1". At the end of the show, Carlos Cavazzo was throwing out a few guitar picks and tossed one at me. Unfortunately the guy grabbed it before I could. Carlos was pissed and took my hand and put a guitar pick in it.
hmm am from this era lets see am a huge rhoads fan i worship the guy but hey give credit do where its do cavazo was n stil is a great he had his own stye sound and could play his balls off from that era in what you call the hard rockers or hair mtal there maybe a few that had there own sound style n skill there was rhoads cavzo jake e lee n warren d martie lnyce and mars the rest just copied
Cavazo filled Rhoads shoes...and back in the day when it happened, he succeeded quite nicely. he was admired by the Hollywood rock circles, and definatley "had somethin"...
cavazo is a great player ??? the person below obviously doesnt play guitar, sorry either doesnt, isnt very good/hasnt played that long,no ofence intended mate but the guy`s stuff is pretty simple to play (and they got this guy to replace randy rhoads) god randy mustve been playing with all his fingers taped together in quiet riot
@davor1873 No, you are coming in here with nothing to contribute other than you are trying to insult a legendary guitarist. There is nothing wrong with spirited discussion on a topic, but you contributing nothing other than negativity is worthless. What have you done? Carlos has made a great living as a career guitarist in one of the best metal bands of all time.

@treetoptop ok for fuck sakes lets voice it another way (and stress again this is my opinion, just like you are entitled to yours, cavazo aint even in the top 20 of guitarists that came from the same era as he did and dont call me ignorant you dont know me,dont get personal with some one you are never likely to meet (seems to be a favourite on youtube),i didnt insult you.
that´s son true ......JLT says that they are covering themselves.....bullshit......i hate that attitude that "i was in purple so i can sing highway star or smoke on the water"......FUCK NO !!!!!......you can´t do that
Joe Lynn Turner is an amazing singer, phenomenal voice... And also looks like a fifty-something year old Italian New Jersey woman that just got back from the hairdresser's. hahaha
Vinny was with Sabbath when they were at their peak IMO. Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules were their best LPs. I know it was Ward on the Heaven and Hell LP, but Vinny stepped in during the tour I believe
oh yeah cos dios a real metal legend hall of famer with more success without selling out then anyone. oh no wait hes a withered fag with an annoying voice. you are not a fan of metal you are just a cunt
guess it's all a matter of personal preference. I personally cant see how anyone would prefer Ozzy over Dio; Then again, I didnt begin to like sabbath til they got Dio. Im obviously more of a Dio fan than an Ozzy fan. But on the other hand, I do like Ozzy's first 2 solo LPs. I owe that more to RR than anything else tho.
At their peak!?? Heaven and Hell,,EXCELLENT ! Mob rules a gigantic thumbs down ! Please that was the second wave of Sabbath, Johnny come lately !!! The Blizzard of OZ turned everyone's heads the other way before the bat incident ! Why ? OZZY was Sabbath !!!!
Carlos ROCKS! Seems to me that he's such an underrated guitarist. I saw him live with Quiet Riot back in '99 when they were playing small clubs and Carlos (as the whole band) kicked ass!
Carlos needs to be given far more credit than he's received.
LOL...has the right?...any band with Vinny Appice in it has the right IMO...But should he?..thats another story..JLT could never shine the shoes of RJD...Ronnie is a legend..JLT is a...ummm....substitute rock star....thats the best description I have for his radio friendly vocals.
The chick misses the boat when she lists the guitar legends that Carlos has replaced by not mentioning Randy Rhoads.

The band was called Wildlife. The guitarist for Wildlife, Steve Overland, also recorded " Shot in the Dark" on his solo cd.

Nice people making good music.
Give them a chance. Vinnie Appice is a legend with Vanilla Fudge. Hendrix, Blackmore and many more cite them as big influences.

@gillan5
Carmine Appice, his brother is from Vanilla Gudge, not himself =p
Appice brothers are both in my top 10 drummers ever
blackoystercultist 1 year ago
@gillan5 Dude, Carmine Appice was in Vanilla Fudge, not his brother Vinnie. Vinnie was in Black Sabbath (the Heavan & Hell version) & Dio.

@davor1873 You are the ignorant one here. Cavazo is a great player in his own right. He is a seminal player in metal, excellent chops and vibrato.
