  • @9:32 AB doesn't look like he's enjoying that cracker very much at all.

  • pause at 3:52 AB looks HILARIOUS!

  • STOP HATEING ON ALTON

  • While they have generally raised the threshold for a positive for opiates to a level undetectable by drug testing, if you live in a smaller area where drug labs don't get as much customer turnover (as in fewer businesses sending them new candidates for drug tests), they may not have the budget to spring for the new equipment. Beware in that case, because on both Mythbusters and Brainiac: Science Abuse, it's pretty well proven that the old-style tests indeed go false positive for poppy seeds.

  • Ugh stupid thing. Anyway you can totally fail a drug test from poppies

  • Comment removed

  • Umm. You totally can failna

  • Keebler elves?

  • alton, ur so fkin smart!!

  • Love the P.T.O. (Power Take Off) attachment on the KitchenAid mixer. Heck if a P.T.O. is good on a John Deere Tractor,. it certainly is good in the kitchen.

  • It was proven on mythbusters that poppy seeds do cause you to fail a drug test

  • Yes, but it required more than what you'd find on a cracker.

  • this is true lol.

  • I watch these good eats episodes on youtube every night before bedtime. It's so relaxing and fun at the same time!!

  • "You understand that?"

Anyone else think there may have been a pun in his reply, referencing Kant?

  • Nobody else talks about synthetically judgments and the a priori aspects of cognition like Kant.

Kant is one of the few philosophers I advocate the cliff notes over the original. His thinking is complex, but not overly and he loves inventing hyper technical definitions.

  • @khesed One person responded to me saying "proven by mythbusters" and you respond "busted by mythbusters" but i don't give a flying fuck because it's been proven by actual scientists doing real research and testing that you can in fact get a false positive from eating poppy seed bagels

  • this show is great

  • A comment on the poppy seed and drug testing. From what I read is that drug testers have raised the limit of opium so that it is not as easy to get a false reading. In britian they had tests come back as postives with only 2 poppy seed bagels eaten before the change. That is why AB has mentioned that it is no longer an issue in drug tests.

  • O_o You just have to go and draw attention to yourself, don't you?

  • Dude, what the hell is your problem with Alton Brown? Go bother someone else.

  • Clearly you have no life and choose to waste your bitter existence complaining on the internet.

  • You're whining about a plastic bag, I suppose you're all mighty in your attempts to not use oil-based products in your pathetic life.

  • And to top it off Plastic can be made from any type of oil including vegetable oil. AB obviously does advocate using the plastic bags more then once. And for putting crackers in there is no reason to toss the bag when it's empty.

  • I understand what you mean man, the people who whine about oil based products are the same people who whine about not eating raw meat. Idiots I say.

  • @dancinbluegirl The funny thing is that all computers use plastics in them so; he used plastics just to post the message.

  • @dancinbluegirl Who the friday are you talking to?

  • If you posted that comment and didn't expect this, you're a fool.

  • LOL @ 9:36, he looks like he HATES the cracker!

  • Probably just because it was dry lol

  • that was an awesome cut off...

"my bread and cracker recipes have been instrumental in overthrowing dietary habits that lead to lust"

    Alton:...uh uh umm I'm sorry?

  • Sounds like the guy is off his rocker, much like Gary Busey.

  • Why should A.B. know about drug tests? Is there something we should know?!? ;)

  • I imagine he probably watches Mythbuster. He has gone on record as being a fan of the show.

  • *Mythbusters

  • REALLY good cut-off XD

  • I always figured there was a way to make crackers at home, but I never knew how. Now, I do. Thanks, AB!

  • He has a recipe in one of his cookbooks.

  • Funny you mention that...I should have known that. I have the "I'm Just Here For..." books, including both editions of the first one. So I should have known.

    Still...awesome episode.

  • Yes, it is. But they all are.

  • There's probably a good reason for that.

  • lol imagine saying "OMG THERES CRACKER BEHIND YOU!!!

  • Good for you...

  • nice u see it my way

  • Sorry, I forgot my [/sarcasm] tag.
