I have Dell inspiron 5110 laptop. Core i7 2630 QM, 2.0 ghz (turbo boost to 2.9 ghz), 6 gb of ram, geforce gt 525 M and still I have only 10 - 15 fps. What`s the problem? I know, this laptop isn`t very powerful, but come on...I think it really should have more fps. By the way, my settings are set not on ultra high or high...any suggestions?

I was running it on all medium and getting 20fps, I followed this guide and was sceptical as all your settings are higher than mine, but I followed it and now I get 90 fps.

Never heard of a game that increases fps from higher graphics settings

Why is enabling DX10 a bad idea? FSX runs better in DX10 mode rather than DX9 in my computer.

@pilotofa787 That's true, I use windows 7, anyway the performance difference is incredible between DX9 and DX10. My only beef with DX10 is that at some airports the taxiways and runways look like ass, the textures (especially the taxiway markings) flicker and dissapear. It's very weird and annoying.

hey, i've found that the autogen and scenery complexity settings are the worst for bad frame rates, but with both on very sparse, when i flew over new york literally the only building was the empire state building, but even on normal the frame rates slow massively. should i have autogen fairly high but complexity low?

@9gent Oh my! I'm sorry, i really cant help you with those kind of specs. That computer bearly has enough power to even start up the simulator. I suggest an upgrade of RAM and buying a video card- better yet just buy a new computer, because FSX wasnt made to run on a system like that. You have no choice but to have alll your settings down. If you had 2GB of ram, then i can probably help
