Indeed, MLK passes right in front of the convention center. It's a challenging place to cross up there as well. This is about 1 mile south of the convention center.  There are commercial, industrial, and residential buildings in this neighborhood. It also connects the Central East Side district to the waterfront and downtown.

Is this anywhere near the convention centre? I went to Portland once to attend a trade show at the convention centre, and I walked over from my hotel which was nearby, and I remember walking along MLK blvd.
