Fabulous song! I really think this should have been a single.

I met Jennifer Rush in May 2011, and we talked about this song (she even sang the chorus to me personally) and she revealed what the song is about! She wrote the lyrics by herself, and she said "I wrote it for my mom, why died" (her mother Barbara died of cancer in 1984), and that the "shadow" that you cannot escape is the cancer you see in the scan pictures. It gives the song and the scary soundscape a whole new depth.

@rashid81 Youre welcome. Its one of my favourite songs of all times, and now after Jennifer told me what her lyrics are about, i understand why it sounds so scary. Her mother died of cancer (a shadow on the scan) and mine did too.
