it really is no mystery why drummers like this don't really make a name for themselves, partly because they play bullshit progressive music and play a retarded set up like this guy, and not to mention the Satriani crap being played on guitar. NOT IMPRESSED
Go to his website and take a look at his discography. He's he's recorded/toured with ... everyone from The Who, to The Pretenders to Toto to Jeff Beck, Judas Priest, Asia, Peter Gabriel and *many* in between... Even Joe Satriani, ironically enough.
There are many drummers out there you could say "don't make a name for themself". Simon Phillips is definitely not one of them.
@johnditmo ohh now i see.. i should have probably read the comment marked as spam first... he has a problem with both philips playing and the "satriani crap" on the guitar... but ironically philips has actually played with satriani and many other great players

People force yourself to play with your other hand and use a heavier stick for your weak hand and practice air drumming
NO contact with skins just sticking along to a track, I can play anything left / right now.....just a learning curve.
I agree this stuff sounds like Cobham fusion from the 80s
not my cup of tea but Phillips s platform of choice
