  • Does it support every SNES game? It doesn't seem half bad from most of the reviews/unboxings I've seen so far. Oh can you also hold it in your hand like a GBA or DS?

  • @michaelwash12 sorta it is kinda bulky. also it comes with the two wireless controllers so if your hands are t small for it they are there.

  • Do you have the same brand but in different format version besides the SNES, like NES, SEGA or some other formats?

  • Okay so I got one of these and while I was playing it the battery light thing started flashing red meaning it was almost out of battery. It died and then when I plugged it in to charge it still wouldn't turn on. Is this normal or should it play while its charging?

  • Who cares if it looks like a giant DS? It's a fuckin SUPER NINTENDO! I'd play Killer Instinct then New Super Mario anyday.

  • @Jonzilla37 Killer Instinct is awesome! I'm getting one so I can play all the DKC's and KI and Super Mario.

  • a fucking brick and a half

  • @AVGNfanNO1 I see the point you are trying to get across, but you have to remember that this a SNES portable and I am sure that was the smallest they could get it. It might have been smaller with out the flip screen.

annyway the companny dit a great job of replicating the snes hardware.

  • I think Im gunna get one of these...seing as how the snes is my fave console and all...playing it portable would be bad ass.

  • the store next to me has all this shit

  • can it play imported games

  • @UltimaMan1

i saw on another video that you can just break off the little plastic clips in the cart holder thats supposed to be used for the US carts and then you should be able to play other regions also

  • can i play super mario rpg on it cuz i heard it wont

  • I just bought mine!! It's amazing!!!

  • You should try Secret of Mana and report on what this does to the menus. Certain menus in that game use the SNES's 512X224 mode for text, and I doubt this LCD has that high of resolution, but I could be wrong...

  • i can't find it on the site? and hpw much does it cost?

  • dude. It hasn't even been a full day and you already have 16 comments. wow. by the way cool vid

  • Is it rom enabled ?

How much did u pay it and where ?

    thanks :))

  • Yeah, they sure are. What I would REALLY love to see is an adapter that lets you play NES games on your SNES. Why Nintendo never made one is beyond me. It would solve the whole cartridge connection issue.

  • A 3rd-party company actually made an NES>Super NES cartridge adapter during the Super NES' lifespan called the Super 8 or Tristar depending on the region. It's a very rare 3rd-party add-on that, nowadays, is quite expensive. Another adapter like that was even made for the Nintendo 64, named Tristar 64 which provided compatibility for both NES AND Super NES games on the Nintendo 64. That one is even rarer, making it even more expensive than the Super 8 adapter for the Super NES.

  • That's right, I forgot about the Tristar64. It is rare, but I'd love to get one. I do wonder how comfortable it would be to play NES games with a N64 controller, though.

  • I personally wouldn't have a problem. For many years, I used the D-pad on my Nintendo 64 controller until I got games that absolutely required the use of the analog stick. To me, the Nintendo 64 controller, when the D-pad is used, feels like a bigger Super NES controller with grips and a different button layout. Liked it.

  • Yeah, I like it quite a bit myself, although I know some people aren't big fans of it.

  • because the NES and SNES are NOTHING alike. The Genesis had a Master System converter because the Genesis had a Z80 processor inside. You would literally need a full NES inside the converter. The FC Twin/Retro Duo/FC3 is the closest you'll get to an NES/SNES all-in-one.

  • Ah, I didn't know all that, thanks! I'll have to get one then. I probably couldn't play Castlevania III on any of them, though, which would stink.

  • You CAN play Castlevania III on a RetroDuo, but the system itself is crap. The biggest problem is this: INTERFERENCE!!! A TON OF IT! If you play an NES game, you'll get diagonal bars on the screen that scroll from left to right and waves that are in sync with the music, while the Super NES side will have thick strips of static scrolling down the screen. To make matters worse, the NES side produces HORRIBLE sound. Watch my RetroDuo vs. Original Hardware videos and see for yourself.

  • are you Ace from Sega-16? lol, only Electrical Engineers and Technicians ever notice those minor interference discrepancies and always blow them out of proportion and scare away the casual consumer. The Retro Duo is a great system to use day to day while you track down an NES and SNES in good shape, and it does play CV III as well.

  • Yes, I'm Ace from Sega-16. May I remind you that I own quite a few clones, old and new(MicroGenius IQ-501(old), SuperJoy X(old), FC Twin, GN Twin, Gen-X, RetroDuo, Retro Entertainment System(revised version of the FC Game Console made by RetroBit), and I have personally gone through the trouble of recording games played on my clones to show people how good/bad they are. Have you not watched my RetroDuo vs. Original Hardware videos? Maybe then, you'll think differently.

  • my g/f got me a retro duo a year or so ago and i totally agree with you on the nes side...its awful...however the snes side (at least on mine) is virtually flawless...the only thing i notice is the color is ever so slightly washed....besides that the thing is great (snes anyway)...i use it for all my snes reviews.

  • I may have gotten a bad RetroDuo, since I heard that not all RetroDuos have the interference problems on the Super NES side I mentioned. I remember one of the oldest models of the RetroDuo having perfectly clean video on both the NES and Super NES sides, but the NES side sounded like absolute crap, especially with Konami games. THAT'S BULLSHIT!!! Konami makes 2 of my favorite series that hit the NES: Gradius and Contra, and both are murdered by the RetroDuo. UGH!

  • The clone makers are on a roll! First, portable NES clones show up, then we get TWO portable Genesis systems, and now a portable Super NES. I'd better save up some money for some NES, Super NES and Genesis on the go!

How big is the FC16 Go? It seems kinda bulky to me.

  • Love the big screen! The new Genesis portables needed a bigger screen like this one. A+

  • Does it play FX chip games?

  • tried Starfox and it loaded fine

  • Good to hear..........

  • @qruqid does it play pal and ntsc?

  • @qruqid what is fx chips

  • @craptastic720 FX chips are special chip that are in a few SNES games that enhance the SNES memory. Without the FX chip we would not have Star Fox

  • prime material for a case mod

  • definitely!

  • Cool.

  • This thing looks so cool. I just wish the carts went in further.
