  • When he said "that needs a little something extra" and stand up a bit, I thought he was going to display his own genitals...

  • As Penn said in one of his books, on stage, Teller never talks. But when they are doing other stuff, Teller does most of the talking.

  • In the end Penn was like "meh whatever. I wanted to answer it *shrug*"

  • Holy shit, he talks!

  • NNOOOO!! now i know tellers voice!!!

  • damn, nobody told me Teller would speak!

  • Holy shit this is the first time I've ever heard him speak.

  • This is the first time ive heard Teller speak... I just shit myself.

  • @ItsBuckful There are videos of classes he taught and interviews here on YouTube. Enjoy!

  • Tldr

  • he talked

  • i never thought i would get so excited by seeing a grown man with no speech impairment or learning disability speak

  • @superguy658 why are you copying that comment from other penn and teller videos in the attempt for some random person on the internet to think you are funny, despite the fact that you don't know then and in all likelihood never will.

  • I don't like penn, tellers the real genus

  • I love hearing Teller talk. :)

  • Teller can speak, there is no God!

  • So far I've tallied four minutes of teller speaking youtube.

  • penn looks like he wants to punch the guy.

  • HOLY SHIT! HE CAN TALK?!

  • Mogley52 is a Troll

  • @Mogley52 institute for creation research?? thats definely religious crap!!!!

  • @Mogley52 If we see fossils of an animal we can infer the existence of an animal despite the fact that we can't directly observe the animal. Your statements are actually not scientific but antiscientific. A large part of science is infering the nature of events which are not directly observable.

It requires just as much faith to believe in evolution as it does to believe in the existence of the other planets in our solar system during the daytime, when they cannot be directly observed.

  • I think Penn is pissed off! And Teller knows! Check out after Penn shrugs at 1:11 :D

  • First time I've heard Teller!

The legend is now dead :(

    but It is still awesome

  • Of all these years, that was the first time ever I heard Teller speak and he speaks well and his voice is awesomely powerful!

  • I didn't even know teller has a voice box!

  • AGH! I've been trying my whole life to avoid hearing Teller talk.

  • OMG Teller can talk!!

  • His voice fits his face and he speaks eloquently and wonderfully...but the sound of his voice still freaks me out a bit.

  • I liked him better when he was mute.

  • I wasn't looking. I looked up while somebody was talking. What the fuck? :D

  • WTF?!?! Teller talks!!!?!

    lol :P

  • Oh my god teller talks :@

  • That was the longest speech Teller ever made. He looked tired afterwards.

  • Penn looks kinda pissed. "YOU FUCKING RUINED EVERYTHING YOU LATIN TEACHING BASTARD!!!"

  • @viralarchitect lol!

  • I want Penn's hair.

  • holy crap i love teller to death! <3

lol he looks uncomfortable after talking for so long

  • @Turtleluver26 The way he looks at Penn after his speech, and Penn shrugs, Teller looks seriously worried. That episode of Simpsons must be true. Penn probably beats him if he talks too much.

But I love Teller so much. He's smart, entertaining and a proper showman. I think he's the only human being that can make me laugh without actually saying anything.

  • @JenRageify i actually couldn't agree more :) Teller is amazing at magic, and by not talking makes the audience pay more attention. he really is brilliant.

  • @JenRageify Teller doesn't look worried and Penn shrugged because there's nothing else to say, it was answered excellently. Penn doesn't like to steal the limelight away when Teller talks.

  • @JeefCakes I completely agree! I was just saying because of Teller's expression. I know that Penn's got nothing to add, but just look at Teller's face! He goes from grinning to looking quite sullen.

My comment on him looking "worried" was a little jokey. Implying that Penn's the one in control and doesn't like Teller talking out of line. :)

  • @JenRageify What about Mr. Bean?!

  • @LordDisQo Touche! Haha!

  • 12 people needed something extra

  • Teller is amazingly cute:o

  • I want to hug Teller.

  • he talks :O

  • I'm with TheLibertyLion's interpretation here. I don't think Penn's shrug is dismissive at all. Teller is a very emotional guy, which is evident if you've ever read any of the interviews with him online, and this shows when he speaks of things that mean a lot to him. This is clearly the case here... What more could Penn add?

  • Holy shit! I have the exact shirt teller is wearing!! I got it from the Gap!!

  • holy shit! teller spake! i've never heard him utter a single word before.

well that's not true. he said "PENN!" on Fool Us two weeks ago. but besides that!

  • OMG teller talked ! ive never heard him before <3

  • Damn did anyone else feel bad for teller at the end of this video.

  • Teller has such a nice voice! Wonder how it would sound if he sang!

  • LOL he talks so much and then grips his microphone shyly.

  • You could also interpret it as Teller looking at Penn to see if he has anything to add to the answer, but Penn shrugs his shoulders to say, 'What can I add to that?'

That's a nicer way of looking at it, certainly.

  • @TheLibertyLion That's definitely the truth too, Penn always complements Teller as being smarter, more genius etc. No way he's being a random douche. We gotta remember we're thinking "wow teller can speak" but Penn has been talking to him for 20 years, he knows he's got a strong articulate voice and is real smart.

  • The pleasant, patient yet plotting silence of Teller is great stage persona. I cannot help but wonder if he studied the role of Joe E. Brown (famous for his yell) as 'Flute' in the 1935 "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The silent character is powerful in theater histoy.

  • This was amazing until the last few seconds, when Teller just looked crushed.

  • ignore the previous comments. As I was saying, the absense of speach is his stage persona, STAGE being a key word. The silence is a metaphor, like his whole career. he wants to show how people can be easily mislead to believe what they are seeing is true .People are so involved that they want it to be true. in my opinion expecting Teller to be silent all the time is selfish. It's all lies. Most things we see is just a manipulation of the world around us and Teller is a marvel for that

  • @UglyPratFace7

Exactly. Teller is silent all the time because he's the real magician. Penn is his version of the "blonde with the big tits" misdirection.

  • @mtszabo

Well Penn is a magician too and he knows how to do the illusions, but Teller is the brains behind it.

  • @mtszabo Penn is a talented magician himself, but you're right, he might not have big tits, but he's a very large man, with a very loud voice and a very distinct personality, for the average viewer, it's very hard to not pay attention to him while teller goes unnoticed pulling off a key part of the trick.

  • why are people so angry at Teller? Him not being able to talk is just a stage persona, per

  • Why is ev

  • And now Teller has entered a list with Paul McCartney, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Area 51, Shari Lewis (who resides on column A & B)... Who is really dead? Who the ventriloquist? The Dummy?--- The moment he spoke in"Penn and Teller Get Killed" was a shocker. But he was upside own, a sock head; I latched upon that. -- There is his writing.. Try to find "Teller's Bat Call", a text page. For years now there has been a 'redirect' away. But I cite that so often as the best Vaudeville. Thanks, Teller.

  • The Teller is a lie

  • its so weird seeing him speak its really as if it isnt real

  • obviously fake

  • TELLER YOU SOUND SO AWESOME !

  • what the heck, Teller talking? HAHAHA. i think this is a hoax or something.

  • THATS NOT TELLER, TELLER HAS A SUIT AND SPATS AND DOESNT TALK, EVERYTHING I KNOW IS A LIE

  • Teller, He speaks! O_O

  • haha teller looks so nerdy when he turns to see penn, but he's so fucking cool, he is the magical part of this duo and he's just great

  • Gaaah! He talked!

  • That isn't Teller talking, Penn is just an extremely good ventriloquist.

  • Holy fuck Teller sounds like Garrison Keiller

  • @teniguafez "Next up, some more of that banjo-fiddle crap..."

  • @teniguafez I was reminded of Christopher Walken, a little XD

    Teller has a lovely voice!

  • Now if only they were actually correct when they presented information on Bull Shit. Sadly, so often they are completely ignorant and clueless. Not always, but often.

  • The tail tried to wag the dog and it shrugged as if it was a whimper. This would have been more interesting if Teller was washing Penn's back in a bathtub. One of my favorite videos is when Teller is kissing the alien doll. The Freak ! Would have been funnier if he was naked though.

  • @aleon1018 Lol! What video is this?

  • @JenRageify

    Penn & Teller: Bullshit! Season 1, Episode 3 - Alien Abductions (1/3) 7:30

  • @aleon1018 Oh brilliant! Haha, thanks ;)

  • haha

When Teller speaks, it is gold

  • Teller talks too much.

  • Teller sounds *nothing* like I had expected him to sound. Granted, the only thing I had heard him say before is "MOTHERFUCKER! OW!" (PETA episode of Bullshit!), but still...

  • I actually clicked play on this from someone's blog, while I was looking around at other tabs, and only vaguely listening to the video, so you can imagine how it startled me and got my attention when he started speaking! LOL

  • Penn likes to be the one that talks.

  • OMG TELLER IS TALKING!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow. Teller has a wonderful voice.

  • Well thought out and said on a moments notice and much appreciated by one who is a member of the latter part of your answer. Thank you.

  • When Teller stood up, as he was talking about "a little something extra," I thought he was going to take off his pants.

I think for an episode of Bullshit!, Teller should talk and Penn should do the silent part. They should switch roles. I think that would be cool.

  • @qwexas I don't think Penn could keep quiet that long.

  • @dljm226 I agree. And here as said, the shrug really kills teller and the look on his face is like a poot little child and just for that and that only, I can kill Penn!

  • @aaqucnaona94 Truedat! I love Teller! >.<

  • Teller doesn't talk in character except when his face is concealed, but he speaks in interviews and stuff. He speaks to the camera on four occasions in the magic & mystery tour in Egypt, for instance.

  • I guess not many people have seen 'Penn and Teller Get Killed'.

  • LOL! First time I heard Teller talk

  • The amount of time we see Teller NOT talking is only 0.0001% of his actual life. The other 99.999% of the time the general public isn't seeing him. The first time I heard him talk was in the movie Penn and Teller Get Killed in 1989.

  • @zerobeat18 For real.

  • Teller isn't talking. That's Penn's ventriloquist act! :P

  • Teller isn't talking. That's Penn ventriloquist act! :P

  • @Hikk0 Teller used to teach English and Latin. Pretty strange considering he normally doesn't talk. But you can be damn sure that every word that comes out of his mouth comes out sounding exactly like it is supposed to sound.

  • WTF!?!?!? TELLER TALKING!?!?!?!?

  • @astrolifter go away

  • Penn hated that

  • Wow, never heard him talk until this. Like I knew he spoke and there were videos of him talking, but I never checked them out. He has that sort of "Gentlmenly/Intelligent" sort of voice.

  • hehe nice comments

  • i am sure penn would say that their greatest achievement was when they decided to make fun of magic

  • So THAT'S what Teller sounds like. :)

Nice answer, too. Probably not how I'd present skepcism, but hey, whatever works!

  • That is NOT how I expected Teller's voice to sound like

  • That's how he rolls lol. Breasts and genitalia lol.

  • Only Teller can make Penn speechless :-D

  • Holy shit! Teller can speak and he likes breasts and genitals! I love him all the more now!

  • Niiice! :)

  • holy shit...

    he talks

  • I fucked teller once

  • @flexicon1996

    ...

  • I was kinda shocked when I saw him start talking. I expected the crowd to gasp, but I guess they heard him speak before this.

  • Holy shit he speaks!

  • @hmsbackstroker Yes he does! XD When I actually got the chance to meet and talk to him, I was thinking, "Will he actually speak to me?" and he did. ^_^

I walked away thinking exactly your comment! lol

  • He makes a fucking great point. Why did he suddenly lose it?

  • Penn's shrug at the end was sooo wrong.

  • @jezebellilith I don't think so. I think he was saying with that little shurg, "Yep, that says it all." It did say it all too.

  • @jezebellilith I'd like to know too

  • holy shit he can talk

  • His voice is incredible.

  • Oh Teller, so sexy.

  • Ive heard him before, but by the end of this video it shows why usually doesnt talk... Still, Teller still kicks ass!

  • Right at 1:08 when Teller looks over at Penn, it just looks like Penns shrug just crushes Teller.

  • @duffmanhb lol, didn't notice that before. That was pretty harsh by Penn. Teller must have really bad self esteem too.

  • @duffmanhb Teller looks sad. I get sad when Teller is sad =C Teller is cute =P

  • @duffmanhb That's so sad :(

  • @duffmanhb yeah, Penn is an asshole!

  • @duffmanhb oh my god thats the saddest thing i've ever seen :(

  • @duffmanhb And it was at that moment Teller ceased talking... again.

  • @duffmanhb He probably never talked again after that fatal blow

  • penn and teller are incredible. whether or not you agree with the things they say, when i saw their live show, afterwards they came out and met with the fans for pictures and autographs and they were super nice and really seemed to care about the people who came to see them. it was a real blast. thanks guys for being cool and having good shows. and, teller talked freely afterwards - people were asking him to talk on their cellphones to friends and family and he happily agreed. Great stuff.

  • @gibletcaptain You are so right.. I saw P&T in 1998 at the MGM in Vegas, and they stood outside the theater signing autographs and taking pictures. They also took the time to answer anyone's questions with great empathy and patience. I then saw them 10 years later in 2008 in Vegas, and they did the exact same thing after the performance. They are truly inspiring people, and top the list of influential people in my life. Also, if you look into Penn's eyes, you almost drift off into them.. Imo :P

  • I used to watch their how ALL THE TIME! <3

  • I heard Teller once on the old Daily Show with Craig Kilborn during the five questions. He covered his mouth and shouted "F--- YOU!!!!"

  • @amishius I remember that Daily Show clip, too. I think he said, precisely, "F--- you, Craig" in response to Kilborn asking if he ever, ever talked. That was where I first heard him talk, too. Haha. :)

  • @abyschan Oh yes- good memory. Mine certainly isn't that good anymore! Thanks for that!

  • If you see P&T's Vegas show (which you should!), they sometimes do a great trick in which an audience member comes down to operate a video camera. I won't ruin it, but suffice it to say that Teller talks in the trick, which makes it my fave.

Again, if you are in Vegas, be sure to see P&T's show at the Rio!
