ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment or suffering. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)
RECENT NEW SPECIES don't possess any new genes. Although new species have come into existence, they don't carry new genes for new traits from the parent stock. They've become new species only because they can't be crossed back with the original stock for whatever biological reasons. Only variations of already existing genes and traits are possible allowing for limited change within a biological kind (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.). Nature has no ability to invent new genes for new traits.
@Mogley52 nature has no ability to invent new genes for new traits?? REALLY??, and what the hell has been doing the nature the last 3.8 billion years?!!!
SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE could not have sustained itself eternally because of entropy (even in an open system). Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! That beginning had to be supernatural because natural laws have no ability to bring the universe into existence from nothing. The supernatural cannot be proved by science but science points to a supernatural intelligence for the origin and order of the universe ~ HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM (Article)
EINSTEIN CONFIRMED that space and time are just as physical as matter. That's why space and time can be altered by gravity, and space produces particles. Einstein's equations show that the universe couldn’t be eternal. It had a beginning. Einstein believed, because of science, in the existence of God behind the origin and order of the universe. He didn't believe in a personal God like Christians do, but he did believe science pointed to the existence of an all powerful and intelligent Creator
THE SCIENTIFIC CASE AGAINST ATHEISM: Please read this Internet article of mine published in Russia's English Pravda. It will be a real eye-opener for all who think belief in a Creator is merely subjective blind faith. Also read my article, LIFE ON MARS NO SURPRISE (In the Earth's past there was powerful volcanic activity which spewed life-containing dirt and rocks (meteors) into outer space. NATURAL LIMITS TO EVOLUTION: Only evolution within "kinds" is genetically possible (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.), but not evolution across "kinds" (i.e. from worm to human). EXPLAINING HOW AN AIRPLANE WORKS doesn't mean no one made the airplane. Explaining how life and the universe works don’t mean there was no Maker behind them. Natural laws explain how the order in the universe works, but mere undirected natural laws can't explain the origin of that order. Once you have a complete and living cell, the genetic code/mechanisms exist to direct the formation of more cells, but how did the cell originate when no directing code or mechanisms existed in nature?
WHAT IS SCIENCE? Science simply is knowledge based on observation. No one observed the universe coming by chance or by design, by creation or by macro-evolution. These are positions of faith. The issue is which faith the scientific evidence best supports. Natural laws can explain how an airplane or a cell works, but it's irrational to believe that mere undirected natural laws can bring about either. Read my Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
@Mogley52 If we see fossils of an animal we can infer the existence of an animal despite the fact that we can't directly observe the animal. Your statements are actually not scientific but antiscientific. A large part of science is infering the nature of events which are not directly observable.
It requires just as much faith to believe in evolution as it does to believe in the existence of the other planets in our solar system during the daytime, when they cannot be directly observed.
SCIENTISTS HAVE NEVER CREATED LIFE. And, even if they do it won't be by chance but by intelligent design. By genetically engineering already existing forms of life, scientists have produced new forms of life, but they did not produce these new life forms from non-living matter. Even in synthetic life, scientists design and build DNA from scratch, through intelligent design, and then insert their man-made DNA into an already living cell. Read my article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
THE ODDS of the sequence of molecules in a cell coming together by chance are similar to the odds of magnetic letters randomly bonding together in a sequence to form all the words and sentences in a dictionary. Without the right sequence, a cell's molecules won't work. Amino acids can come by chance but not proteins. Without DNA there can be no proteins and vice versa. Gradually won't do. NATURAL SELECTION DOESN'T PRODUCE ANYTHING. It can only "select" from what is produced that has survival value. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, that survival is called being "selected." That's all it is. There's no conscious selection by nature. It's a passive process. Natural selection is a figure of speech. The term itself is a tautology. Natural selection only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before. Read my article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM.
NATURAL SELECTION IS NO BLIND WATCHMAKER because it can only "select," not produce or arrange. If a variation survives, that's called being "selected." Natural selection operates only once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't have been involved in life's origins. ARE FOSSILS REALLY MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD? Popular Internet article examines assumptions concerning fossil deposition as well as built-in assumptions involved in modern radiometric dating (not used for dating fossils but other rocks), and arguments from starlight and time. Discusses lack of true transitional forms in the fossil record and lack of "age" sequence of the fossil layers. Discussion of mixed species (i.e. dinosaur, reptile, mammal fossils in the same stratum).
IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! There are no true transitional forms, either living or fossilized. Evolutionists realize this fact! Read my Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. @Turtleluver26 The way he looks at Penn after his speech, and Penn shrugs, Teller looks seriously worried. That episode of Simpsons must be true. Penn probably beats him if he talks too much.
But I love Teller so much. He's smart, entertaining and a proper showman. I think he's the only human being that can make me laugh without actually saying anything.
@JenRageify i actually couldn't agree more :) Teller is amazing at magic, and by not talking makes the audience pay more attention. he really is brilliant.
@JenRageify Teller doesn't look worried and Penn shrugged because there's nothing else to say, it was answered excellently. Penn doesn't like to steal the limelight away when Teller talks.
@JeefCakes I completely agree! I was just saying because of Teller's expression. I know that Penn's got nothing to add, but just look at Teller's face! He goes from grinning to looking quite sullen.
My comment on him looking "worried" was a little jokey. Implying that Penn's the one in control and doesn't like Teller talking out of line. :)
I'm with TheLibertyLion's interpretation here. I don't think Penn's shrug is dismissive at all. Teller is a very emotional guy, which is evident if you've ever read any of the interviews with him online, and this shows when he speaks of things that mean a lot to him. This is clearly the case here... What more could Penn add?
You could also interpret it as Teller looking at Penn to see if he has anything to add to the answer, but Penn shrugs his shoulders to say, 'What can I add to that?'
@TheLibertyLion That's definitely the truth too, Penn always complements Teller as being smarter, more genius etc. No way he's being a random douche. We gotta remember we're thinking "wow teller can speak" but Penn has been talking to him for 20 years, he knows he's got a strong articulate voice and is real smart.
The pleasant, patient yet plotting silence of Teller is great stage persona. I cannot help but wonder if he studied the role of Joe E. Brown (famous for his yell) as 'Flute' in the 1935 "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The silent character is powerful in theater histoy.
ignore the previous comments. As I was saying, the absense of speach is his stage persona, STAGE being a key word. The silence is a metaphor, like his whole career. he wants to show how people can be easily mislead to believe what they are seeing is true .People are so involved that they want it to be true. in my opinion expecting Teller to be silent all the time is selfish. It's all lies. Most things we see is just a manipulation of the world around us and Teller is a marvel for that
@mtszabo Penn is a talented magician himself, but you're right, he might not have big tits, but he's a very large man, with a very loud voice and a very distinct personality, for the average viewer, it's very hard to not pay attention to him while teller goes unnoticed pulling off a key part of the trick.
And now Teller has entered a list with Paul McCartney, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Area 51, Shari Lewis (who resides on column A & B)... Who is really dead? Who the ventriloquist? The Dummy?--- The moment he spoke in"Penn and Teller Get Killed" was a shocker. But he was upside own, a sock head; I latched upon that. -- There is his writing.. Try to find "Teller's Bat Call", a text page. For years now there has been a 'redirect' away. But I cite that so often as the best Vaudeville. Thanks, Teller.
Now if only they were actually correct when they presented information on Bull Shit. Sadly, so often they are completely ignorant and clueless. Not always, but often.
The tail tried to wag the dog and it shrugged as if it was a whimper. This would have been more interesting if Teller was washing Penn's back in a bathtub. One of my favorite videos is when Teller is kissing the alien doll. The Freak ! Would have been funnier if he was naked though.
Teller sounds *nothing* like I had expected him to sound. Granted, the only thing I had heard him say before is "MOTHERFUCKER! OW!" (PETA episode of Bullshit!), but still...
I actually clicked play on this from someone's blog, while I was looking around at other tabs, and only vaguely listening to the video, so you can imagine how it startled me and got my attention when he started speaking! LOL
I used to think their names were a pun. Like one writes the material and ones performs it. a "Penn-er" and a "Teller". And of course the pen speaks while the teller stays silent. maybe i was just really high
@dljm226 I agree. And here as said, the shrug really kills teller and the look on his face is like a poot little child and just for that and that only, I can kill Penn!
Teller doesn't talk in character except when his face is concealed, but he speaks in interviews and stuff. He speaks to the camera on four occasions in the magic & mystery tour in Egypt, for instance.
The amount of time we see Teller NOT talking is only 0.0001% of his actual life. The other 99.999% of the time the general public isn't seeing him. The first time I heard him talk was in the movie Penn and Teller Get Killed in 1989.
@Hikk0 Teller used to teach English and Latin. Pretty strange considering he normally doesn't talk. But you can be damn sure that every word that comes out of his mouth comes out sounding exactly like it is supposed to sound.
Wow, never heard him talk until this. Like I knew he spoke and there were videos of him talking, but I never checked them out. He has that sort of "Gentlmenly/Intelligent" sort of voice.
@hmsbackstroker Yes he does! XD When I actually got the chance to meet and talk to him, I was thinking, "Will he actually speak to me?" and he did. ^_^
penn and teller are incredible. whether or not you agree with the things they say, when i saw their live show, afterwards they came out and met with the fans for pictures and autographs and they were super nice and really seemed to care about the people who came to see them. it was a real blast. thanks guys for being cool and having good shows. and, teller talked freely afterwards - people were asking him to talk on their cellphones to friends and family and he happily agreed. Great stuff.
@gibletcaptain You are so right.. I saw P&T in 1998 at the MGM in Vegas, and they stood outside the theater signing autographs and taking pictures. They also took the time to answer anyone's questions with great empathy and patience. I then saw them 10 years later in 2008 in Vegas, and they did the exact same thing after the performance. They are truly inspiring people, and top the list of influential people in my life. Also, if you look into Penn's eyes, you almost drift off into them.. Imo :P
@amishius I remember that Daily Show clip, too. I think he said, precisely, "F--- you, Craig" in response to Kilborn asking if he ever, ever talked. That was where I first heard him talk, too. Haha. :)
If you see P&T's Vegas show (which you should!), they sometimes do a great trick in which an audience member comes down to operate a video camera. I won't ruin it, but suffice it to say that Teller talks in the trick, which makes it my fave.
Again, if you are in Vegas, be sure to see P&T's show at the Rio!
When he said "that needs a little something extra" and stand up a bit, I thought he was going to display his own genitals...

As Penn said in one of his books, on stage, Teller never talks. But when they are doing other stuff, Teller does most of the talking.

JenRageify 4 months ago 22
@JenRageify i actually couldn't agree more :) Teller is amazing at magic, and by not talking makes the audience pay more attention. he really is brilliant.
Turtleluver26 4 months ago 3
@JenRageify Teller doesn't look worried and Penn shrugged because there's nothing else to say, it was answered excellently. Penn doesn't like to steal the limelight away when Teller talks.
JeefCakes 3 months ago

Teller has such a nice voice! Wonder how it would sound if he sang!
marklee17 6 months ago 2
LOL he talks so much and then grips his microphone shyly.
StFaceKillah 6 months ago
You could also interpret it as Teller looking at Penn to see if he has anything to add to the answer, but Penn shrugs his shoulders to say, 'What can I add to that?'
That's a nicer way of looking at it, certainly.
TheLibertyLion 6 months ago 4
@TheLibertyLion That's definitely the truth too, Penn always complements Teller as being smarter, more genius etc. No way he's being a random douche. We gotta remember we're thinking "wow teller can speak" but Penn has been talking to him for 20 years, he knows he's got a strong articulate voice and is real smart.
davyjames 5 months ago 3
The pleasant, patient yet plotting silence of Teller is great stage persona. I cannot help but wonder if he studied the role of Joe E. Brown (famous for his yell) as 'Flute' in the 1935 "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The silent character is powerful in theater histoy.
MrDarwinsDog 6 months ago
This was amazing until the last few seconds, when Teller just looked crushed.
AcidKnockDownn 6 months ago 2
ignore the previous comments. Most things we see is just a manipulation of the world around us and Teller is a marvel for that
UglyPratFace7 6 months ago
@UglyPratFace7
Exactly. Teller is silent all the time because he's the real magician. Penn is his version of the "blonde with the big tits" misdirection.
mtszabo 6 months ago 25
@mtszabo
Well Penn is a magician too and he knows how to do the illusions, but Teller is the brains behind it.
soadpwnsyou 3 months ago
@mtszabo Penn is a talented magician himself, but you're right, he might not have big tits, but he's a very large man, with a very loud voice and a very distinct personality, for the average viewer, it's very hard to not pay attention to him while teller goes unnoticed pulling off a key part of the trick.
thispoorguy 3 months ago
why are people so angry at Teller? Him not being able to talk is just a stage persona, per

The tail tried to wag the dog and it shrugged as if it was a whimper. This would have been more interesting if Teller was washing Penn's back in a bathtub. One of my favorite videos is when Teller is kissing the alien doll. The Freak ! Would have been funnier if he was naked though.

When Teller stood up, as he was talking about "a little something extra," I thought he was going to take off his pants.
I think for an episode of Bullshit!, Teller should talk and Penn should do the silent part. They should switch roles. I think that would be cool.

The first time I heard him talk was in the movie Penn and Teller Get Killed in 1989.

penn and teller are incredible. whether or not you agree with the things they say, when i saw their live show, afterwards they came out and met with the fans for pictures and autographs and they were super nice and really seemed to care about the people who came to see them. it was a real blast. thanks guys for being cool and having good shows. and, teller talked freely afterwards - people were asking him to talk on their cellphones to friends and family and he happily agreed. Great stuff.
gibletcaptain 1 year ago 2
@gibletcaptain You are so right.. I saw P&T in 1998 at the MGM in Vegas, and they stood outside the theater signing autographs and taking pictures. They also took the time to answer anyone's questions with great empathy and patience. I then saw them 10 years later in 2008 in Vegas, and they did the exact same thing after the performance. They are truly inspiring people, and top the list of influential people in my life. Also, if you look into Penn's eyes, you almost drift off into them.. Imo :P
