I just bought one 2 weeks ago. I understand that it still takes a lot of practice to get good with this thing...I'm not much impressed with it. The videos make it look easy.

Putting it together is easy, getting it to balance properly is a whole nother ball game. I have a Canon GL2, which is not very heavy....but once you add the balance washers that come with the kit, it adds much more weight and causes strain on your wrist. You would eventually need that harness they make for it.

($265 @ B&H) Anything lighter lighter than and including an HVX is great, that means a VX2100/2000, DVX, Sony HDV FX1 equivilants. Get that over the merlin, because the glidecam has the telescoping pole = easier to control. I have a 1.5 lbs camera (HDR HC1) and that was light for the glidecam. Used a DVX and it's perfect for it. Dont get the swing arm thing just use your own arm. Only thing is its not quick release: not that big of a deal, if you want that and have the money then go steadicam.

This Video looks like it might have been shot with a Sony DCR-Hc96 along with an adapter of some sort. With the new Adobe Premiere Pro cs3 and After Effects cs3 you can enhance your footage. Everything from white balancing, depth of fields, Pro mist filter effect to give that warm look and ofcourse color correction. What impresses me though is the way they shot this video. Very Smooth!!! Excellent Job!!!
