Ladies --- i told ya to get Education in AdvertiOZZZZings

  • Maybe the building codes should state Hurricane & wave surge proof Buildings only.. Don't build anymore houses unless they meet such codes. It's possible, and not that much more expensive, given the cost of rebuilding/evacuations/lives lost etc.. Throw in a generator and you're sitting pretty for a while.

  • @agonyflips the same should be done for tornadoes in states like Oklahoma

  • "The eye of the storm, where the most intense winds are"

No, eye wall, most powerful in the top right quadrant of the storm in the northern hemisphere.

  • What is the difference of a direct and indirect death?

  • I remember going through the rain and winds when it weakend on land.

  • Texas doesn't need a Super Hurricane, just a good slow moving tropical storm to end this exceptional drought.

  • Texas needs the storm now...

  • i enjoyed watching this @spacerip. :) ty

  • guy sounded like stephen hawking at one point loooooooool!!

  • The thumbnail looks like a tie dyed t-shirt.

  • I still remember when Hurricane Ike hit Houston. It had weakened considerably, but those winds still sounded monstrous to me and my family when we were locked down inside the house that night.

  • dont you mean, the strongest winds are actually at the eye wall of the hurricane? because the inside of an eye is really warm and calm but still rainy, this is where all the pent up energy is created then spat out in huge winds reaching a colossal 320 kph. (true fact!)

  • never moving to the coast.

  • why are you going back to 1917

  • meh

  • We get so many hurricanes here in florida but we never flood.

  • wow thats terrible where is this?

  • @evilclosetmonkey1122 Galveston Texas

  • It says that the eye of the hurricane is where the most intense winds are but that's actually not true. It's most peaceful if you are in the actual eye.

  • @SocialGhost11

Narrator probably meant the "wall" of wind, dust, and debris that separates the chaotic world outside the eye from the calmness of the real center of the eye.

  • hurricanes are scary!

  • I love how the speaker is totally fine with it.

  • @jtricky5101 Firefox ad blocker FTW!

  • you know most of the damage caused by andrew was uniquely wind not storm surge or rain not just wind but i hear it also spawned allot of tornadoes

  • @irelandcool1 I was in Key West during the time Hurricane Andrew hit. Despite what wind speeds were reported in the media, some areas were recording wind speeds of over 350 mph (563 kph). The most damaged areas didn't have tornadoes involved at all. The storm itself was as powerful as a F5 tornado in some regions. I had to drive all the way up to Pennsylvania to live with relatives after the storm was over. Seeing the devastation Andrew left behind is something I will never forget.

  • 0:01

INSIDE the eye is the calmest, the WALL of the eye (eyewall) is where the strongest winds can be found.

  • 90-min.com

  • I love these videos. Most informative videos on Youtube.

  • this was an informative bad ass mind boggling video

  • The eye of the storm doesn't have the strongest winds. Well the edges do, but not the eye itself.

  • @BlazeCyndaquil

The eye itself is calm, but the eyewall is where the most violent weather is found.

  • @Fox250R Except for Andrew in 1992, Katrina in 2005, and Wilma in 2005, oh and Rita in 2005. Ike in 2008 was the 3rd most devastating hurricane in history. Don't forget Ivan in 2004.

  • tht kinda sad

  • I blame the film industry.

  • haha and my comment got demoted because of the new youtube CENSOR policy google ruined youtube and thats a fact!

  • i liked youtube better when it DIDN'T advertise

  • Fuck Smirnoff!!!

  • his guys voice is so irritating. Trying far too hard to sound dramatic, and his sentences are often cut short, like this, to make a, dramatic, effect on the listener, that is, watching this video. Talk f**king normally. You're no David Attenborough

  • I'm glad i'm able to mute the adverts.

  • Hurricanes need hot, moist, turbulent air to form

  • A long time ago, Galveston got ROCKED by a hurricane.. The "experts" at the time believed there was no way a hurricane could make it all the way through the gulf of mexico. They ate those words in the end

  • The EYEWALL has the most intense winds. The eye is relatively calm.

  • nature also has ways of saying "screw you humanity"

  • I BLAME ALL OF THE PRESIDENTS I WOUD PUT THA NAMEZ BUT IT TAKES UP 2 MUCH ROOM BUT LOL

  • I was without power for 6 weeks because of Ike!

  • @Frosty9825 duude that sux ,,,, MY FUCKING HOUSE WAS FLOODED FOR LIKE 2 WEEKS BECAUSE OF GUSTAV AND WE HAD TO CLEAR OUT OUR HOUSE WHICH WAS ALL MOLDY , WE LOST ALOT OF STUFF ,WE HAD TO TEAR IT DOWN , BUILD A NEW FUCKING HOUS THEN ELEVATE IT , ALL OF THAT TOOO LIKE A YEAR, AND LIKE EVERYONE IN THE AREA I LIVED HAD TO DO THE SAME THING AND THY ALL COST LOTS OF MONEY IF YOU DONT GET IT DONTE FOR FREE,,,,but ur house was with no power thts much more worse!!!

  • @jzlACoSTE done*

  • @jzlACoSTE OOH! Don't we all feel sympathy, I know people whose houses have been BURNED down, by fuckin' lightning hitting it, they didn't lose alot of things, they lost EVERYTHING. People's trees fall in houses and kill people from storms. Oh, but your house was flooded for 2 weeks? Woopty fuckin' doo.

  • @Perceus995 OK first of all i too know ppl whos houses burned down bc of lighting , and yes ppl did die, most things couldnt be used after the hurricane so thts basically like every thing, not just my house every ones house some people lost relatives, photos, and tons of other things. and why didnt you complain about tht guy tht said that his house lost electricity? mine is much more worse than his , dont ya think?

  • Your video are showing a error for the gulf oil spill

  • lol what about hurricane katrina wtf 200mph wind gusts

  • damn ads!

  • Thanks SpaceRip...I believe the deforestation of both the countries of Africa and the tropics around Burmuda has a devestation affect of the formation of hurricanes. There are no forests around the equator to balance the winds when they hit the Atlantic seas, also affecting the hurricane/typhones around the Pacific that also hit Japan ... it's sad man is killing our planet today.

  • uqhh google are you pAYING YOU TUBE!!!!!If you are you better quit its not like your the king of the internet evrywhere i go i see adds by google

  • Very informative from a scientific stand point.

  • It really pisses me off that New Orleans is the only city that is ever mentioned when Katrina is described. Anyone that saw the Mississippi coastline after Katrina would feel the same way.
