Fuckin' A- right! This song really showcases John Stabb's Damned obsession beautifully. This transitional e.p. might be G.I.s finest moment for me: just the right blend of that early Damned influence, early G.I.'s more thrashy HC sound, and an emerging 'emotive' hardcore style. What an underrated- and in retrospect, really trail-blazing sound (mid-to-late period G.I.) I can never give 'em enough props!
you're sooo right! I always thought the very same thing. "Fun just never ends" and "Joyride" had perfect balance between power and melody, with these peculiar guitar textures by Tom Lyle.
Generally speaking I think that often historical hc bands had their best moments in the transitional phases. For example Husker Du, band that had a similar evolution to G.I.
