videos such as this and documentaries on tv showing stories of poor/suffering/sick ppl reminds me I'm not alone in my struggles. Nagpapatatag. Wish they will be ok.
This is one song that will touch many hearts, many minds around the world for a long long time and will remain fresh, refreshing and loved by many. I heard the Filipino version ages ago and whenever I heard this I am deeply touched and felt the pangs of old, nostalgia overcomes me and melancholy all along the road. I love this song. Love this one too !

You should listen and read the translations by the original, Anak - Freddie Aguilar, you'll find one, the english version doesn't get the whole thing, the original doesn't even have a chorus

the music and the voice didn't match. It was a great song tho. I've heard the chinese guy sang it in english and it was so much better than the original.
I think the point of the video focuses on the human spirit, despite the surroundings, the environment they are happy. I should shoot a counterpoint video in suburban america where many of the children appear lifeless and dull. I think if people saw outside of themselves or traveled and saw all humans worthy of a chance at life or opportunities it would be a different planet.
well said.I have been to the phillipines and these people dont know that they are poor.nowhere else in the world will you see poor people smiling. They play the hand that god gave them and for that they are better people. I watch this video alot...and am amazed.
hi.. thanks for uploading this one.. i want it to share with my fellows in the church.. but the video is not too good when viewed in full screen (it's pixelated)... if you don't mind, could you send me a copy of this.. one with high resolution.. thank you so much..
He is Freddie Aguilar from the Phillipines. I remember it from the 1970's when I was over there. I only heard it in Tagalog. One of the Phillipine Dialects. Hearing the English Version is just as good. I was moved by the song never knowing the words until a friend translated it to me.
Thank you for these strong pictures....any father or mother will cry watching these....for myself it was long time ago that i faced asian facts...high time to remember

Very well said friend. People like you lend a bit of sanity and meaning in this cold and often heartless, so-called "progressive" world. Thank you.
