THIS IS NOT A BEAR ATTACK!!!!! The bear never made any aggressive move toward a person. Although there were food packages next to the campfire, the bear did not move that way because people were standing there and making noise. There must have been some food, an object that smells such as deodorant, chap stick, or food wrappers/trash in the pack that the bear was carrying away. Either that or some residual smell in the backpack of food, etc.

An "attack" is an assault by a bear to a person.

Thanks for posting this, reinforces the habit that I need to empty out my bag soon as I make camp. That video also makes me wonder if lugging around bear spray isn't maybe that crazy of an idea in Yosemite... probably would never use it, but I'd feel a lot better in that situation holding a can.

@kylewp That's not true. In Yosemite, they tag all the bears so they can keep track of the population. They've stopped moving bears because they've found that they just make their way back to the exact places they were caught stealing food.
