The ending kind of pissed me off. i can handle when a horror movie kills all the characters off But this one was just messed up. I just cant imagine anyone going through that.

This movie's ending is definitely not for the emotionally sqeemish. But that reviewer just repeating "lame" over and over without giving any real examples of why he thinks that just gives me the impression that it did not make him feel all warm and fuzzy and he is channeling that toward the review. This movie was excellent and has some exploration into human nature that some people actually find interesting.

I liked the movie, but that ENDING. It was completely different from the novella, and (spoilers) almost everyone is dead. You just don't do that. Driving off into oblivion without much hope is fine, but... that's just too depressing.

THis movie is so well done, and how could you not like this movie because of the ending. It hits you in the gut, it comes way out of left field... and after you walk out you have to ask yourself how could they do that? The mere fact that you ask yourself that makes it good.
The movie was about how fear destroys people. That's why the woman at the beginning walks out of the store into the mist to get her kids, and at the end she's in the truck that drives by when the main characters give into their fear. They had the right idea by not giving in to the religious nut, but they didn't hold on to the faith that they would survive for long enough.

The only good thing about this movie was the ending. This movie betrays the idea that you aren't supposed to show the monster. Definitely at least a high rental. I really enjoyed it over all even though it was campy. I think the campiness was intentional though and that Darabont was aiming for an old school scifi/ horror film. He eve released that black and white version. What makes this movie stand out from the genera is that it actually has something to say in it's themes. There is more going on in the subtext. The ending was a nice twist from the conventional and I respect it's risk taking spirit.

As much as I love Stephen King and his stories, I did not like how this one was done. It got too political about conservatives, Christianity, etc. In particular, I was bothered by the military aspect. I'm aware King supports are troops well but he HAS said some questionable things about the military. I have to give this a low Matinee. It could have been better without the politics.

I didn't like this movie at all. I didn't like any of the characters. I felt the main characters did some things that was just plain stupid. I refuse to watch this movie again. Once was enough for me.

I honestly did NOT care much for this movie, I read the book, which was much better. And I hated that religion thing, I am a christian but damn lol, it was just annoying,,,,, Also the ending was NOT that good (in my opinion)

Definitely at least a high rental. I really enjoyed it over all even though it was campy. I think the campiness was intentional though and that Darabont was aiming for an old school scifi/ horror film. He eve released that black and white version. What makes this movie stand out from the genera is that it actually has something to say in it's themes. There is more going on in the subtext. The ending was a nice twist from the conventional and I respect it's risk taking spirit.

it was entertaining at least. i didnt know what the movie was about at first, so i was pleasantly suprised until it started draging on towards teh end. There are just certain stephen king stories that honestly cannot be turned into movies. (It, The Mist, The Gunslinger, and From a Buick 8)

The ending should never have happened, where the military came along and saved the day. I really just hated the ending with a passion. The end of the original story was like an apacolypse

As much as I love Stephen King and his stories, I did not like how this one was done. It got too political about conservatives, Christianity, etc. In particular, I was bothered by the military aspect. I'm aware King supports are troops well but he HAS said some questionable things about the military. I have to give this a low Matinee. It could have been better without the politics.
