  • @T0KELY sp. "Yeeeeaaahhhhhh!!"

  • not an ounce of heart or feel man. Not for me....good for some but I'm just not into this speedy stuff...barely able to get the lyrics in...i've heard other things you do and find them quite good...this one in particular doesn't do it for me..cheers.

  • @Yeshead641 I joke, man, but, absolutely no problem. Honest opinions are always appreciated.

  • no thanks.....

  • @Yeshead641 You must. I insist.

  • Boy, you're f a s t !

    gerry from France

  • @3000gerry It's all a trick! The hand is faster than the eye.

  • pretty good pickin

  • @steve2275 A bit late on the reply, but thanks!

  • Impressive!

  • You have your own style of entertaining and improvising, Tommy Emmanuel puts a twist on every classic he plays and the crowd seems to love it. Hey, rock on maybe we will see you at on a stage someday...

  • Hey, thanks a lot, man - yeah,I hope you see me on a stage too1

  • Totally ridiculous. What a ridiculous ego trip to completely trash a truly great song. The melody, lyrics, the chords... everything is great and you've turned it into a show-off piece for your frantic, confused picking. Do you ever listen to people who can play in that style...Doc, Tony Rice, etc.

If at least you picked a showcase 3-chord tune like Mama Don't Allow for that kind of show-off picking. But a beautiful classic!? Yeah, right, the sound you made at the end says it all.

  • Why are you lying?

    Jealous, much?

  • Incidentally, the title and description of this video clearly state that this is "flashy and athletic" and a "stunt guitar take" on this song. I could not have labeled it more clearly.

    [cont'd...]

  • [...cont'd]

Because you have an obvious sensitivity in these areas - perhaps your family was massacred by a man playing a folk song much too fast when you were very young? - you might want to take care to read video titles and descriptions before viewing, to avoid any future injury.

  • By the way, it's not that I think your opinion is invalid. It is valid.

It's just that you're, you know, an Internet Bully... taking out some sort repressed anger on total strangers from behind the safety of a keyboard. You should forget about music for a while and focus on getting help with that.

  • Oh, and the sound I made at the end DOES say it all. That's why I put it there. Idiot.

  • You know, looking back a year later... I think I went too easy on this guy. :-P

  • Man, that is one 'happy' guitar! Very cool sound! 5 Star's!

  • I dug it. At least you didn't sing it in the 'Chipmunk' key. That would have been enough to make Arlo turn over in the grave had you pitched your voice up and either mixed it with the playing or just sped the whole thing up to a 2 minute processed version of this. Maybe you could still remix it for a good laugh?

  • Hunh... alternatively I could do a super-fast version, but with pitched-down heroin-sounding vocals... that would be pretty trippy...

  • That would be humorously disturbing. I would love it. I guess I'm not normal at all. Whatever NORMAL is...

  • Ciao G.P.i miei complimenti BELLE SCALE BLUES.

  • hey, fantastic, ya got any blisters on your fingers. My favorite tune on speed! your awsome

  • Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment - glad you liked it! Got more on the way soon.

  • holy crap...you can play man...sounds awesome...thanks for the sub!

  • And thank you for the compliment!

  • not a prob bro

  • Wow. Great, i would if icould.

    But cant, so.

ANYHOOO, heres a challenge for you.

    Play, WITH a FLATPICK

Dont think twice its all right.

    The Steve Young version.

    Envy speaking here.

  • Oh, yeah? Never heard that version... I'll see if I can find it.

  • do you ever get bored with the guitar?..not fair question huh?..gotta check ya out here some more..pete townsend ain't got nothing on ya man!

  • Not fair is right... that's like asking if I ever get bored with eating or sleeping. It's just something I do.

Pete Townshend? Thanks for the laugh,man... hopefully someday I'll be able to touch his solo acoustic version of Drowned from the Secret Policeman's Ball. Until then... I keep trying. Thanks for the compliment, though!

  • now you're just showing off on this one. but I gotta admit, never heard this song that a way before !

  • Woa, will you be my friend?

I've got you on my favorites.

  • Never heard this song move like this! The guitar has a good tone! I love to hear songs changed up like this. Good job!!

  • Ah, you found this vid before I had a chance to send it to you! Not exactly bluegrass - certainly a pale imitation compared to your vids - but as close as this raised-on-rock Long Island boy is likely to get, and I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the kudos!

  • I'm a fan! wish I could flat pick worth a damn.....

  • Funny, I wish I could fingerpick worth a damn. Grass is always greener. Actually I have an exercise I learned to pick like this with... just a standard bluegrass thing someone showed me that I played day in and day out for years. Once I clear my backlog of videos to upload, maybe I can post a lesson or something.
