When you started you locs did you use any product at all.....I am now about 2 months into my loc process and am having trouble with finding a product that I can be content with any advice

@Rrellierell91 at first i used a little organics twist n loc gel cos i was too impatient and didnt have the oils yet..then switched to oils...reverted back to twist n loc in between oils and got build up even when using a little bit and regular washes...so now i jut stick to oils
@kbgaston the oil on damp hair has always held my hair just fine. i would let the clips sit and air dry for the most part only blowdrying if i was in a rush. ur hair trains itself to twist that way over time and the hold gets better on its own from that...i never used all that magnificant ra out there everyone else uses. but like i said if thats not a hold to ur liking..then make sure u research carefully what else u will be testing out to find what works for you. ( :c)

@dadamdada23 tho if that doesnt work for u to ur liking u can always google all natural hair products for locs and if u dont want to do the all natural route this is one of my favorite people on here ....damianjw84....he's very informative...he has a mixture that isnt all natural but i say if the natural route doesnt work for u his mixture shud def get u right. his clients never have any complaints and their hair is always light and flowing and healthy! hope any of that helped!

No the texture of the gel does not matter. YOur hair locs not because of what holding agent you use... its by your hair matting together. And how does your hair matt together? By washing it--water. I started locs using two strand twists and washed my hair within the week and kept washing it (gently at first). Good luck!
@superslyfoxx1 well i'm starting with comb coils so mine uniform and not lumpy [just my personal preference lol] so the washing is going to be a task smh...i see LOTS of re-twisting in my near future...
@kbgaston Just a warning--retwisting alot means weak locs. Your comb coils will only stay uniform for a short while...until you wash them. YOu will have a few months like 3-6 month phase where you won't be able to control your hair. It will be lumpy bumpy because the hair is doing what it needs to do.Just love it for what it is because that is the phase it will need to go through for you to obtain the gorgeous locs you want. I wish you well in your journey. You will learn alot along the way.
