  • the rest of the world provides taxpayer funded ( costs are kept down) and care provided to many and stupid yanks dont get it

  • The magic wand theory doesn't work, but that doesn't stop the plutocrats from pushing it. When America is bankrupted they will (already have) get rich off the carcass of the USA. And all you stupid F*^ks who voted for the commies will be singing a different tune when you lose everything you had to these monsters.

  • I liked the public option idea... what happened to it? I'm not crazy about the individual mandate idea, but it's better than things the way they are now! My insurance just jumped up another $200 a month out of my net pay - ridiculous. I very rarely every use my insurance, but I have to pay so much for it that I can't afford much of anything but to buy gasoline to get to work.

  • hey guys if you got the time you should give my vlogs a look every vewer counts:)

  • Gee I wonder why, but for some reason Reich's other top youtube video has comments disabled. Maybe they're afraid someone will post a link to the youtube video "The truth about Robert Reich" by Robert Murphy?

  • @garoad2

comments disabled because there are so many people that heckle instead of talking about the real problem

. people that heckle, are people that does not want to listen to how to solve the problem but cheering an idealogy within examining it.. seeing if its actually good for the country.

  • I used to be for the public option, then I realised it would keep too many angry Youtube morons alive

  • Reich is a coercive little dwarf freak. Just endless marxist nonsense from a complete doofus.

  • @qwertypoiu4321

and your an ignorant douchbag. How does it feel when you hide behind name calling to show how ignorant you are.. wanna prove he is wrong state your argument. Show me why you believe he is wrong. Hopefully you are adult enough... or mnaybe not.

  • @jvsus4117 Reich believes in fallacious, Marxist LTV exploitation theory. Demand and scarcity give value, not labor; that is a child, unicorn fantasy.

  • @qwertypoiu4321

and youre an ignorant douchbag. How does it feel when you hide behind name calling to show how ignorant you are.. wanna prove he is wrong state your argument. Show me why you believe he is wrong. Hopefully you are adult enough... or mnaybe not.

  • the truth about public option is we didn't get it. Obama, the oreo cookie, yet again licked the repukes and their masters the vampires of wall street's hands. so uninsured americans are forced to pay for profit insurers for piss poor health care plan that is worse than the treatment your pet gets from the vet. Finally Vermont is starting a true public health care system. That's how Canada started and hopefully the rest of USA will follow. KEEP THE PUBLIC SECTOR SOCIALIST!!!

  • @emotionalinvalid I retract the pejorative 60's description of a black man trying to do the bidding of the white elite or the elite in general. That term being "oreo cookie". Yet I still stand by my criticism of Obama, whom I voted for, who has not promised anything progressive as he said he would do in his campaign for the presidency. Politics is adversarial. Co operation with the elites leaves the people closer to peasantry and misery

  • But BUT BUT... they'll pull the plug on grandma!!! BUT BUT.... They'll tell us what to eat and when to get dressed!!! BUT BUT.... Godzilla will attack Tokyo if the public option passes!!!

  • I don't understand how it's an option. An option implies that if you do not want it; you do not have to take it. Yet, under this plan, if you do not have insurance, you MUST BUY into the government plan -- or face fines and penalties. So, either way, its just another scam for the government to take the people's hard earned money.

  • @medic6955 No you must buy some form of insurance. For example, it's the same as car, house, boat, or any other mandated insurance. Why is it okay for you to be required to have car insurance but it's not okay for you to be required to have health insurance. I don't get that.

  • @Ryooken Actually, the way the laws are written state that you must have (for auto or boat) "financial liability protection" (in most, but not all states). For example, in PA, you can have a set amount of money set in a separate account that is just for insurance. You're not buying anything and you can still make interest off of it. As for home insurance, that's not a government mandate. It's usually from the bank so they know they still get paid if something were to happen to the property.

  • chose of insurance =chose btw mafias

  • V.A. Hospital benefits are great!! I was young, dumb and so entered the military when I was 20. Just because I did that, I received LIFETIME SINGLE PAYER healthcare (and dental) for 4 years of being taken care of by the Army and trained on heavy equipment ops! So tell me again how single payer is bad??? I have perfect health and teeth because of it and oh yeah, when I am old, I can live in a VA nursing home plus be buried for FREE in a National Cemetery of my choosing with a 21 gun salute.

  • @p4h10oso We can't all be soldiers, you know.

  • Always nice to watch "this is your last chance" videos on youtube 2 years or whatever time later... Fuck me...

  • not all americans are stupid but the moderates among you better stop being so moderate and fight for your country. im irish and from over here it looks like you're letting the lunatics take over. that affects everyone not just america

  • @tonyspacecowboy It looks that way from here in Canada, too.

  • @tonyspacecowboy I live in Canada, We and Mexico are being hit haarder than anyone by the terrible U.S. choices. Sen Bernie Sanders for President

  • @tonyspacecowboy

Agreed.... It's news channels and the lies from the media that use the socialism card to scare people into thinking social programs are like Hitler himself.... WHEN in reality it's all about money and big business to these goofball politicians.... The American people better wake up really quick before there is NO MIDDLE class anymore.... THE only reason we don't have a public option in health care is because the Insurance companies bought off our politicians...

  • Americans are simply too stupid to demand something like this right now. Maybe one day...although I doubt it.

  • @slcpunk33606 - yeah everyone in America is stupid, way to generalize. by the way slc punk SUCKED, d-bag

  • @420propot Yes, we have 320 million people in this country and I'd imagine that most are fairly stupid. Often marching in the street to protest something that could provide them great benefit, and a higher quality life. Doesn't get much more stupid than that.

  • @slcpunk33606 Pfft... benefit and high quality living? Who cares about that when Americans can march around shouting: "OBAMA'S A SOCIALIST TZAR THAT"S GONNA DESTROY THE COUNTRY WITH HIS EVIL ILLUMINATI SATANIST SCHEMES!!!! BAN ABORTION!!! BAN FREE HEALTHCARE!!!! BAN THE LEFT!!!! 2012!!!! THE TEA PARTY IS GREAT AND ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS A DIRTY LIBERAL WHO WANTS TO DESTROY THE NATION BY GIVING PEOPLE EQUALITY AND OTHER COMMUNIST STUFF I DON'T UNDERSTAND!"... Oh what a tangled web we weave.

  • @Mystrymeat ... LOL, brilliant. Thank you for that.

  • @Mystrymeat I agree with you that Obama does seem intent on completely ruining this country. It feels as if he has a plan he's working on to take our country into a global community where we the people don't really matter any more. We will just be "workers" and the elite will be the only ones who count. Strangely enough, the liberals/progressives in this country are falling for his agenda and they'll be sorry when they see what his final plan is for us... God help us!!!

  • @SherryAnn68 It's not so black and white as you may think. Many liberals don't always side with Obama's choices just like how many republicans didn't always side with Bush when he was running his circus of idiocy. Obama isn't necessarily the reason why big businesses are becoming more important than the little man, but he certainly isn't the solution. So long as corporate America has the government in their back pocket, things aren't going to get any better.

  • @Mystrymeat But what you don't get is that many people have woken up to the reality that the politicians are all in this together. It's not a matter of Republicans vs. Democrats anymore. Notice how Jeb Bush is building up Obama. How weird is that? We the people need to wake up and realize that their plan is to take control of us and put us in subjection to the state. They want us to think that it's as simple as Democrats vs. Republicans but that's the big farce. America needs to wake up..

  • @SherryAnn68 Of course it's not Democrats vs. Republicans. They cut so many backroom deals with one another that it's sickening. The two parties, whether we recognize it or not, often have the same agenda. In other words, they put on this charade of D vs.R in order to make the people think they can control politics by voting for one or the other. The reality is that both parties are using the same means to reach the same ends. So long as you're buying their service, they're working for you.

  • @Mystrymeat So why don't the American people wake up to what is going on and let the government know we GET what they're doing? No, we're all so divided that we're playing right into their hands...That's just how they want it.

  • But we can't have that! It would mean that the politicians wouldn't get money from the big corporate healthcare giants to fund their campaigns for re-election.

  • Ask yourself why the major insurance companies are 100% behind this move??? Because they will force to to have insurance, and if you don't you will be fined!

  • Seeing as I'm in the UK, this doesn't affect me. Though it is interesting.

  • Robert Reich the guy who said he did not want white men to recieve any benifits or jobs from the stimulus bill.

  • Just think about that "Trojan Horse" Marxist public option proposition. If this country started out based on free enterprise, and the BRIC countries are going capitalist, full bore, why would we want our government to compete against private enterprise? Thinking about all the Nazis who Obama has hired (and some are jumping ship), what chance does a SMART patriot believe private enterprise will have? yes, folks, this is how the Demolsheviks work.

  • Is Reich really not even 5 feet all?

  • And, we now know that Joe Wilson was right. Obama is a liar. Re Obamacare scam, abortion IS included and Illegal aliens will also be covered. Why is being a left wing liar so common? Is that why they are called liberals, when they are so often just radical perverts? That label "progressive" is pure unadulterated crap. How's that for vitriol?

  • Postscript. Alleged "progressive" left wing scams, former USSR and Communist China governments, no longer exist. (China is now more capitalist than USA.) They were fraudulent, and are DEAD. But the left wing power monger cockroaches are still around, active in politics, after they earn their art and sociology degrees will not earn them jobs.

  • What about "HUNGRY FOR PROFIT"? Or "SHELTER FOR PROFIT"? Hopefully, people understand that these Marxists are just trying to pick off the weakest member of the herd. Few people really love insurance companies. After insurance, it would be the next industry. Reich is pretty much another Lenin or Stalin, only much shorter.

  • Comment removed

  • @forwardmover how can your name be forward mover with comments like this? Linking Robert Reich with Lenin and Stalin is preposterous, (considering his explanation of the public option did nothing to abolish private industry), and attempting to discredit him for being short is a sophomoric action. Remove the blinders, perhaps then you will be able to get passed your biases!

  • @dheath70 I understand the left wing lingo scams. We can move forward when we lack the collectivist shackles that people like Stalin, Mao Tse Dung and Obama have proposed. (At least the first two were not liars.) Barney Fwank explains this commie scheme, the evolution to government takeover, in a widely disemminated YouTube video. Just search on google. I know the behinds the scene story, as do most of the people who will be voting against the Obama scam this coming week.

  • And, if the government started making cars, you could buy one of those, because necessarily they would be subsidized by taxpayers, or at least the ones who have not fled the United States. Just check out people like George Soros and Jim Rodgers and will know where the smart money has gone, and is going. Beware the cat herders.

  • Overall, Reich is a fraudulent character. Actually, he is a not very bright guy who happened to derive from a childhood as another very neurotic Jewish boy is probably smaller than most of the girls. He's another Krugman. Not a real economist. Albeit Krugman has a Econ PhD and a fake Nobel, they are both fairly dimwitted, spineless bobble headed professional pundits.

  • This would all be great if it were true, yeah just let to government go in and compete with the private sector on prices. The entire idea behind the public option is that it will be much cheaper then private, and will eventually put private insurance out of bisiness, in which we will then all be on a "single payer system" which is garbage. govt run health care will not work. Go to your local motor verhicle association. thats what healthcare will be like.

  • @parmstrong32x Bingo! Its all about the Statist / Collectivist / Communist agenda. These people don't like private property or competition or anything other than forced equality. Only problem is Soviet Russia tried this; and they no longer exist. These big government Marxists are like cockroaches. Beside being a dimwitted dwarf, Reich is a Berkeleyite. That's all you really need to know.

  • @forwardmover All of this posting on this wall, simply because you took Robert Reich way, way, way out of context? Bravo, especially on the fact that there's a posting delay after a few posts. Got to love it when you go on worldnetdaily and read all this vitriolic garbage you parroted. And the thing is, he didn't argue in this video that public option should be the only way, but rather an additional choice.

  • @Mythosician06 Additional choice? (belly laugh.) You sound like a real liberal mushhead. A real collectivist cockroach. How's that for vitriolic? Reich is a hardcore, big government left wing dirtbag. Marginal intellect. Short neurotic guy with an over-sized ego. You know even the girls used to beat him up as a kid, and now he wants to reactivate the Politburo in USA, and attack real men. A real bolshevik. I am way ahead of you art school dropout bike messengers.

  • @Mythosician06 "Bravo" ... "Got to love". Nothing much more pathetic than effeminate sarcasm from a male. Do you wear a tutu?

  • @forwardmover Fuck you you maggot shit licking piss smelling foul dick motherfucker. Dirty rotten shit-bathing capitalist pg.

  • @kingnat2 Left wing Big government slacker types really took it up the YouKnowWhat on Tuesday, no? Most hurt big time! So, you need to vent? Does your mother know you are doing this? Notice lack of vulgarity? Do you live in a sewer? Ready to buy your own health insurance? Do you personally have any hope and change left?

  • @kingnat2 3 subscribers in 4 years? That's almost 1 per year!

  • @kingnat2 Also, at age 30, you can still get your GED, and they have English classes in most major cities.

  • @forwardmover You're funny man. Real character. I can speak perfect English, you keep on sucking corporate cock.

  • @kingnat2 Oh, you've got cock on your mind? OK. In many states, can stop in at your Secretary of state's office and incorporate yourself for as little as perhaps $100. Then you could hate yourself as much you want. If you became successful, you could become a big corporation. Of course, this requires adequate education, more work, and fewer video games. Its not the same as slacker / welfare life.

  • @forwardmover What you said has nothing to do with the public option. Moron.

  • @kingnat2 Its called a "response", a response your attempt at an intelligent response. Dictionary: "an answer or reply, as in words or in some action".

  • @kingnat2 Beside, why would anyone comment on the public (collectivist) option? That option is dead. Ain't going to happen. You do know about the Obama "centrist" scam, and the fact enough Americans reject Obama's Marxist agenda, don't you? Better put up that skateboard.

  • .....He's not a Marxist.

  • @kingnat2 Right. And, he's not a liar. And, he doesn't smoke. And, he aint black.

  • @forwardmover Well, he's half black, probably lies, and I think he does smoke. He is not, however, a Marxist.

  • @kingnat2 "Quacks" like Marxist. Obama is the most leftist president we have ever had, altho he ran as a being Right of center. So, we know he is a liar and a con man. Like Hugo. Rated most liberal / left wing senator by national journal. Believes in redistributing wealth and has taken over, or has tried to take over, much of private enterprise. Really not interested in getting picayune with another clueless negative personality disordered 30 year old teenager, so I gotta block ya.

  • @parmstrong32x Assuming your logic, why then are private colleges not out of business? Why do they continue to prosper despite having to compete with public colleges funded by Uncle Sam?

We already have government healthcare. The VA and Medicare. I don't see either one of those groups marching in the street demanding their care is replaced by private insurers who would screw them at the drop of a hat. So your DMV analogy is garbage.

  • @slcpunk33606 - simple moron, this is not an attempt to put these corporations out of business. A public option would make COMPETITION for them in order to lower prices. Also you are comparing oranges to apples. People still attend private colleges because it is prestigious, or because it appeals to a certain type of employer, the cost is irrelevant. Where as in medical insurance, cost and coverage are of utmost importance. So you fail, and your attempt at an argument is garbage

  • @420propot You seem very angry about all this. The right continuously claim that this is a "socialist plot" hell bent on destroying free enterprise. The notion is absurd and that is what I was referring to. Maybe you should take a hit off the ol'bong and chill out weirdo.

  • This makes sense, in theory. But this isn't what is happening (why else would it have to fit into thousands of pages.) We shouldn't be forced to use or pay for it, or it would defeat the purpose. So who is going to pay for it?

Also, they claim the public option will run cheaper then private industry, and if it doesn't it will fail. So will it, and who pays for the loss if it does fail?

  • Mr. Reich makes a bold claim: the public option will run cheaper and/or more effectively than private health insurance.

Very bold indeed, when one considers transportation, existing health services, security, etc. etc. etc. and not one government run service runs cheaper or more effectively than competing privately run services.

    NOT ONE!!!

  • Cat herding Obama Econotards required that insurers insure all children, and not deny coverage for any pre-existing conditions. How idiotic. Now insurers have stopped issuing child-only policies. A no brainer. Reich and comrades want businesses to serve the welfare state bolsheviks. Aint going to happen. TG Obama will soon be repealed. Welfare slackers will need to get jobs.

  • @forwardmover I don't think there are enough jobs for all those people.

  • well gj corporatists, you blocked the public option. And now kids are being denied insurance from certain providers. I hope you're really proud.

  • The "wet dream" of power mongering collectivists like this Berkeley dwelling neurotic midget is to destroy free enterprise and reinstall the politburo, while putting himself in charge. He' not going to sooth that Jewish ego as a CEO, or as a 2nd rate academic. So, he's got to play revolutionary. Must have gotten bullied way too much as a youngster. Very sick man,

  • @forwardmover are you insane?

  • @kirbyman1kanden7pf Communicating much with a moron with a user name like yours would be insane. HTF did you get into ANY college? Your channel actually has a schizo quality to it. Moore chomsky, incoherent notes. Idiosyncratic at best. What do you study, art? let me guess, sculpting. Playdo. Photography?

  • Joe Wilson is a "political operative" ? Everybody and his brother knows that Obama and comrades lied about most of Obamacare. Death Panels? You betcha! (called something else). Rationing - soviet style. These nerds NEED power. Abortions for sluts, on demand? You betcha!

  • @forwardmover I sir am a socialist, and I can tell you for certain that Obama is no Socialist! Also your opinion is unfounded, show me proof that is supporting death panels! Show me proof that he is Rationing like a soviet! Otherwise you come off like a raving, conservative lunatic! (Which by the way you do come off as such)

  • @Pkinchy Most of the socialists I know reaklly are free loaders. At byob parties, they are happy to be collectivists, until their friends discover what mooches they are. Since you are sixteen, I have to ask you if your mother knows what you are doing? Trust me junior, when the comrades are in charge, that new artificial hip won't be coming soon, and gramps will be done in by diabetic neuropathy before he hits 60. Or they can die early swilling vodka as the have in Russia.

  • @forwardmover Notice how i said socialism and not communism? Also why is my age of any importance? An incredibly stereotypical comment as well sir! I don't honestly believe that complete and utter communism can work because a lot of people are lazy and wouldn't want to put in their effort for the group! Sad when you think about it. Being socialist for me is just wanting more gov't control and economic stability. Also you have yet to back your claims, you merely insult and agitate, rebuttal?

  • @Pkinchy And, I am pretty sure you have to leave home and be an adult before you can be a real socialist or capitalist. What's mom cooking for dinner?

  • @forwardmover Since when do I have to be of a certain age to have an opinion, I seem to have more intelligent points than you, a person who just makes false accusations and insults rather than backing up your claims and proving your opinions of any kind of merit!

  • @Pkinchy I do not communicate with minors online. Thanks.

  • @forwardmover You already have, many times, you have also insulted a minor and made a racist comment about Russians, and made unfounded claims about politics, you have lost an argument to a 16-year-old, How does that make you feel?

  • This is an excellent example of Robert Reich as the Napoleon Socialist Dictator wannabee. This video is full of lies. Just one example. Notice he says that our current system is one that everyone hates. Actually, the opposite is true. This is common knowledge. Check out all of the healthcare polls at Real Clear Politics. This minute egghead just needs to make his mark on USA; whereas so far he is pretty much a nothing.

  • What a dirty little man. Reich is a hardcore big government socialist / collectivist who wants to sit on the politburo. Quite a sleazy short (4-11 foot ) weak spined ivory towered bobble head of Berkeley boy who envies real men, with real jobs. Would like nothing better than to destroy business men. His cousin Bonnie Fwank has already spilled the beans on the CHOICE of a Public option as the path to USSR style government takeover. The video is on youtube.

  • Reich = pretend economist. (That's it, folks. No Econ PhD.) Just another extremely neurotic, over-achieving, spineless bobble head. Lots of connections. Little real talent. Belongs in Bezerkely. Talks to his mother everyday. You know it. Cousin of Paul Krugman.

  • I don't need the public Option...because.

    Jesus is my Health Insurance!

    cafepress. com/PlanetFunk.466380924

  • i would support a public option but something needs to be done about the employer tax code provisions and slashing other parts of welfare to cure the national debt.

  • So.. since the government forces restrictions and the size of operation of insurance companies, not to mention a business HAS to pull some sort of profit to expand. Whereas the government has no problem or bias about operating on a deficit, or no coverage area restriction.... Like a fight between an unarmed cripple and Rambo, wtf.

If they cared, they'd deregulate and take the noose away from the private sector first. Instead they engineer its demise and then try to be seen as the heroes.

  • Hrm... so the public option works by allowing people to sign up all over the country? How about you remove the restrictions from the insurance companies to do interstate business.

"This is your last chance" Bull... that is a cheap marketing ploy. If the people want a public option, it will be pushed year after year after year. The fact is the Dems wanted to shove this sham down our throats because they had the power to do it now and wouldn't ever be able to do it again.

  • @ppardee Such people like you ruined this country.

  • @straightedge442 Oh, I see. People like me who want a small, honest government are the reason why we have a big, corrupt government. People like me who want fiscal responsibility are the reason we are in debt to the tune of more than $13,000,000,000,000.... thats $13 trillion, BTW. People like me who want government to take a hands-off approach to business are the reason why so many companies have been virtually socialized. That makes a lot of sense. I'm ashamed of myself for ruining the US.

  • @ppardee 1. Nothing has been socialized. 2. When Clinton left office, DOW was at 14,000... 3. The "hands off" approach is part of what ruined the economy. If the government doesn't do anything, the free market fairies will come and manipulate it in the best of ways? 4. You should be ashamed of yourself for ruining a country.

  • @straightedge442 1. If you say so. 2. Wrong. DJIA never got above 11497.1 during the Clinton years. 14k was late 2008... during the Bush years. It then plummeted to a low of 6547.05 during Obama's reign. And a high Dow doesn't mean a health economy. 3. You must be very young or very naive. We haven't tried the hands-off approach in the modern US economy. Not since Wilson have we had a real free market. In fact, it is regulation that has destroyed the world economy, not lack thereof.

  • @ppardee I am interested in how you think regulation has destroyed the world economy. If we look to the past, the Economic Panic of 1819, the first economic depression, the Panic of 1837, hell, even the Great Depression and almost all the other past economic crises have been a result of overspeculation. And one of the reasons for our current recession is the emergence of unregulated credit-default swaps and collateralized debt obligations.Wouldn't regulating these prevent further economic crashes?

  • @Chuckles543 Dig a bit deeper in each of those instances. While over-speculation played a hand in them, they wouldn't have been disastrous if the government hadn't intervened before or after. In the case of our current recession, we have government tampering on the front & back end. The credit default swaps wouldn't have been a big issue if Freddy/Fannie weren't mandated to give more high-risk loans & the bail-outs after have damaged the economy more than ANYTHING the private sector could do.

  • @ppardee Actually after the Panic of 1837,President van Buren used a specifically anti government interference policy, divorcing the Government from the banks. It ended in catastrophe.Panic of 1819 was caused primarily by privately owned "wildcat" banks, and I think one of the main things that got us out of the Great Depression was government subsidized wages and the hiring and training of unskilled workers at the GOVERNMENT'S expense.Unemployment rate dropped to 2%.Gov. intervention CAN be good

  • @ppardee Also, I would like to ask: How did bailouts damage the economy more than ANYTHING the private sector did? Sure, it left a bad taste in the mouth, but why don't you think about what would have happened if we just let the banks go under...

  • @Chuckles543 The government has no money. Any money it has is taken from the people. Taking money from me to give to another person for building dams or propping up failing companies means that I have less money to spend. Both instances hurt the people who were actually contributing to a healthy economy by subsidizing their incompetent competitors and/or by reducing the buying power of their customers. There is speculation that the Great Depression may have ended sooner w/o interference.

  • @Chuckles543 What would happen if the banks went under? Chances are that unemployment would be close to 10%, remaining banks would be much more tight-fisted with their loans, and we would have an economic crisis that would have lasted about 2 years.

The difference? About $1,000,000,000,000 in extra debt and nearly $2,000,000,000,000 of money pumped into the system devaluing our currency.

Government interference CAN be good, but it never is.

  • @Chuckles543 one would also need to repeal the Federal Reserve Act to free the government from paying interest on it's own money supply to bankers who loan money they don't even have to loan it is all a fictitious illusion ..legalized robbery known as fractional banking..money = debt

  • Forget Bernie Madoff. He was just child's play. The bank heads & corporate so called leaders need to have there assets seized! So the people of the world can be paid back just like Bernie Madoff did and Enron did!

  • @Chuckles543 Thank God there are people speaking the truth. It is about time... When we let people do whatever they want to do. They always come up with a Ponzi scams so they can get money for free & don't have to work. That is why we need regulations/ laws and maybe just the ten commandments enforced?

  • @ppardee Completely free markets don't work, at least not for the people. All one needs to do is look at Modern day Russia, Modern day China, 1880's United States and a whole slew of other examples. The fact is there needs to be a level of Government regulation. Frankly people don't understand what that means.

Pollution laws, Nutrition facts, FDA food guidelines, quality control, child labor laws, minimum wage...etc...all fall under that category.

  • @Balsology China is a free market??? I don't believe you can have a free market in a communist state, but I could be wrong. You have been brainwashed to believe that all of the "standards" the government have put in place are good for the market and the people. Minimum wage is the worst of all! It holds down the poor, and reduces the buying power of the middle & upper class. There need to be laws in place to protect consumers from bad companies, but our laws now assume all companies are bad.

  • @ppardee So people get paid more for working at walmart without minimum wage? I call bullshit on that argument. If that were true, there would have been no need to EVER increase minimum wage standards because companies would have been on top of that already.

The government works for us, so yeah I do believe those standards are good for us, somethings gotta look out for us.

Yes, China opened up in 1978 and has almost zero government regulation.

  • @Balsology I never said people would get paid more without minimum wage. People would get paid what they're worth. Frankly, someone who is unreliable and uneducated isn't worth $7/hr or what ever minimum what is right now. The government works for us?? Since WHEN? The government works for special interest groups.

So, if I wanted to open a shop in Beijing that sold anti-government propaganda books, t-shirts and bumper stickers, I wouldn't be thrown in jail (or house arrest)?

  • @ppardee You said "It holds down the poor" and some BS about how it holds down the buying power of middle class, which makes no sense. Clearly getting payed less, holds down the poor even more. You argument makes no sense, you argued against yourself.

I'm pretty sure we elect our government, not special interest groups. They indeed, work for us.

Pretty much anything accept against the communist government, yes. You also completely dodged the other examples, Russia and The US in the 1880s.

  • @Balsology You make the mistake of taking the view that the economy is simply about work & wages. Allowing someone to work for a marginally acceptable wage destroys the motivational power of being very poor. Why improve yourself if you are doing "OK" being a loser? The nanny state tries to lift everyone out of their circumstances but only succeeds in cementing them there because it removes all pain of failure. The poor should be uncomfortable in their poverty. It is the kindest thing to do.

  • @ppardee The poor are comfortable in their poverty? Maybe 2 out of a thousand. I don't see that at all. Your generalizing a whole range of people, by a biased view; that seemingly the poor are inferior because they are poor.

Being in poverty doesn't encourage people to get out of it? Just ask the millions of people who have.

The core of the issues you brought up, has nothing to do with government regulation, but rather people.

  • @Balsology The poor ARE comfortable in their poverty. Maybe complacent is a better term? There are some that would be poor regardless (the .2% you speak of), but there are so many who don't believe they have any other choice or who feel that the gain isn't worth the effort. This mindset goes away when you don't have enough money to feed your kids. It goes from "I guess there's nothing I can do" to "I have to do SOMETHING!" The safety net prevents this transition. I know from personal experience.

  • @ppardee No, the safety net prevents people from starving to death and or losing the roof over their heads.

  • @Balsology At the expense of their future success. I have no problem maintaining soup kitchens or homeless shelters (by charity, not by government), but we shouldn't be financing what would be considered by the majority of the world a lavish lifestyle.

An alcoholic won't change their lifestyle until they hit rock bottom. The "safety net" prevents people from hitting rock bottom financially. It is the new, subtle form of slavery. The chains are psychological, not physical.

  • @ppardee I am hoping u find yourself in one of those homeless shelters or soup kitchens very soon... when u r there remember your foolish words u wrote here..... u have no idea what u r talking about....what a cold blooded materialist u must be

  • @xadam2dudex I know better than most what the bottom is like. I have been there many times. You demonize me because I tell the truth. How very progressive of you! Study history, psychology & economics. If you do so with an open mind you'll see that what I say is true.

And I'm such a cold-blooded materialist that I give at least 10% of my income to charity every year (on top of the ~30% that the IRS steals). I wouldn't be as useful if I were poor. Some might even call me a burden to society.

  • @ppardee yeah right...the only people that pay taxes are the poor/middle class and the rich who r too stupid to take advantage of the 1000's of tax loopholes written into the code by the rich..10% is the minimum...to deregulate the economy is what got the country into this bankrupt state the wealthy stole trillions and were given trillions more at the price of millions of lives and the future dreams of millions more.. to defend materialism is to defend the basest of human attributes greed

  • @xadam2dudex Well then, by your definition, I am poor/middle class. I'm certainly not rich, but I aspire to be. I can help more people that way. Let me ask you a question... who makes more donations to charity, a communist/non-materialist who makes just barely enough to pay rent ($15k/yr) or a professional (materialist by your definition) who makes $90k per year? Stop living in a dream world and you might actually be able to contribute to society. Or you can shun materialism and be a leech.

  • @xadam2dudex And 0% is the minimum. 60% of my tax dollars already go to federally-mandated charity (the Ponzi scheme called social security, and Medicare) Beyond what the IRS skims from my paycheck, I am not required to give ANYONE any money. You need to get your head around the difference between greed and the desire for success. Success is rewarded (it takes a lot of hard work, so it better be). Unsuccessful people are unhappy people.

  • @ppardee I am curious what government standards are bad for us?

Good ones are as follows: Seat belts in cars, food and medicine seals, nutrition facts, life boats for everyone on board a ship, Lead restrictions, Mercury restrictions, Clean water act, clean air act, "lemon" laws, ingredient information, volume information, gas pump inspection...to name only a few.

  • @Balsology Government regulations assume that everyone is a bad guy. This goes against the very tenets of our society. e.g. The Sarbanes–Oxley Act. SOX was written because a handful of companies engaged in shady accounting. Instead of holding the people accountable, they made it so everyone would have to suffer. This hurts small business disproportionately. All government regulation does. If the people care about the issues, the free market will capitalize on it.

  • @ppardee The government is supposed to be secular, you conservatives argue that all the time. The government can't favor small business over big business.

And I'm pretty sure that bill was created to help protect investors in the future from the same incident. You can persecute those involve once, but unless you act to make laws there is nothing preventing it from happening again.

    Hurts small business how so?

  • @Balsology Secular does not mean impartial. It means separate from religion.

Regulations hurt small business because compliance costs higher as a percentage of gross income. If your business makes $200,000 per year and SOX compliance costs you $1000, that is 0.5% of your gross revenue. If you make $2MM a year, that same $1000 compliance cost is 0.05% of your gross revenue. By itself it seems insignificant, but it is only one regulation out of many.

  • @ppardee By all means I am not an expert, but the SOX bill is pertaining to Public companies. Most small businesses ARE NOT public, and thus would not be required to meet SOX. SOX is about protecting shareholders, if a company does not have shareholders (IE private) it has no need to protect them.

Again, regulations exist to keep we the people safe.

  • WOW this whole health care insurance thing is complicated, Im Glad I live in Canada

    MAPLE LEAF FOREVER :)

  • O well lookie there folks!!! NO PUBLIC OPTION!! LOL. Ya people there ya go a big fuck in the ass brought to you by the incompetent, greedy, and completely corrupt U.S government! HaHa! Wee took out the ONLY good thing in the entire health care bill and really just wrote a bunch of mumbo jumbo shitard rules that wont make a fuckin difference or provide better healthcare whatsoever!! LMAO! Well it will put alot more $ in our pockets but what the hell right? oh ya vote 4 me I care about you so much

  • Good grief, ppl see through this. This is exactly what medicare/medicaid offers, it didn't lower costs. You did point out one problem that could be resolved, why can you only choose those 3 options? Why not from any insurance provider in the US, why the need for gov't granted monopoly over healthcare in the area? Oh, and you realize you can't negotiate lower cash rates with your doctor because of gov't involvement, right? Get gov't out of healthcare, it's the ONLY option.

  • @mikejadoti medicaid is not the same thing because not everyone can enroll for medicaid.I know out where I live the only way to get Medicaid is to pop out kids and not make enough money to support them. Or you can be disabled or some shit but for a regular semi-healthy young guy like myself there is no way they will give me medicaid. So the only thing to do is go without any type of insurance until I find a job that gives it. That means I go on with no preventative care and then get really sick

  • @lamiac2411 If companies were allowed to compete, then you'd be able to purchase healthcare. The lack of ability to purchase it without a job that offers it is another one of those great HC solutions from the gov't back in the 70's. The problems with today's HC system is *because* of gov't involvement, not due to lack of it. Get gov't out, remove the gov't allowed monopolies, and you will be able to get health ins. like u purchase auto ins today.

  • @mikejadoti U r completely correct!! Government involvement has not only allowed companies to not compete but it has ruined healthcare entirely. they r making people more sick but injecting politics in medical decisions. It makes me sick when I hear these radio commercials telling parents to give children H1N1 vaccination!! Now they r promoting it for babies!! It is fucking disguisting!! I wouldnt give that nasty shit to my worst enemy fuck the government they r trying to kill us!!

  • @lamiac2411 I dont know if you have a brain or not but you are aware that H1N1 killed people, especially babies and old people. I agree the gov should stay out of health care but what does private insurance provide? They get billions to fuck people over! There motive is to make as much money as they can so they have no incentive to give you the best price. You can not make peoples lives into profit that is moral bankruptcy

  • @kinglbkiv LOL. Of course H1N1 has killed elderly and and babies, they have something called a weakened immune system!! The regular flu has killed many more people than H1N1 ever has period. It has been proven the shot is much more dangerous than the flu itself in some cases. Y do u think the makers of the fucking vaccine won't give it to thier famalies?? If u wanna give ur baby the shot go ahead, besides the news says mercury is good 4 u now. Maybe squaline is too?? The shot is dangerous

  • @lamiac2411 You are correct, I do believe the public option would utterly destroy the private companies... you know why? Because it WORKS and because PEOPLE'S LIVES ARE IMPORTANT THAN MONEY. Get over yourself friend. Do you want to not change your opinion because you're too stubborn or do you want what's best for America?

BTW Vaccinations are one of the best inventions man has ever made. Look it up.

  • since when is it the federal governments job to compete with the private sector.. The Government Produces ZERO. The government can't give you anything that is hasn't taken from someone else. The public option is just another excuse for the government to intrude into the daily dicisions of the people. Whats next? Government Motors, Government Brand Foods. None of these ideas has ever worked. Without a free market, we will suffer like the rest of the world. "We the People" Reject a public option!!

  • Until we fully enforce laws that make illegal any corporation using their money influence or band lobbiest all together the people will never get what they want or what is good the nation.

  • @16sag7 this country have to have a third party. because the two parties are damaging this country. mainly the RepubliCON's with there fucked up ideology !

  • @unelmitchell Iagree with you about needing another political party. My word were only meant to state why it may not happen. I do believe the libertarian party got close once but the requirements were changed to stop it..

  • @16sag7 i hate the Libertarians i think they are just as bad as the Republicans !!! i just hope that the independent comes to power. independents that are more progressive when it comes to thinking. because those democrats such at times also !!!

  • @unelmitchell libertarialns are independent

  • @16sag7 Hey thats the greatest ideal that i have every heard !!! and you are more then corrected on that issue. we do need more inforcement when it comes to corperation using their money influence the law makers. how country is being Hijacked by corperations, and these stupid teabaggers can't see that it is both parties that are to blame. mainly the republicans !

  • @16sag7 "Until we fully enforce laws that make illegal any corporation using their money influence"

Earlier this year the Supreme Court removed all limits to corporate finance of elections. We now live in a fascist state as defined by Benito Mussolini who said "Fascism should correctly be called Corporatism, because it represents the ultimate merger of the State and private corporations." This is exactly what we have in America today: the merger of the State and Corporate power.

  • @bapyou: I fully agree with your words. I should have said make and enforce laws. America was put on the path of fascism once we stop being a republic and became a democracy.

  • Except the tax payers pay for it in advanced and then if you choose the option you pay for it again....

  • He outlines verbatim how the government will utterly destroy healthcare in this country and the drones don't even see it. Amazing. I used to get mad when people from other countries ushered in their "Stupid Americans" comments, but I'm starting to see it first hand. He tells you right in this video!

  • @EJsigstrat thats why we really need a third party because i really don't like the democrats and i really hate the republican party. i just hope that my independent party get to power. both parties are currupted mainly the republicans !!! i am not brought by the two parties so i should know the truth about the public option. vote independent !!! god bless

  • @unelmitchell your independent party will never get to power. Every time a new party gets close either it is ignored by the media or government changes the rule to block another party. It can only happen only if the stupid masses can stop fighting over none important issues and ban together to over whelm the blocks put by the demoreplic party.

  • all the videos showing medicare fraud are there to show how incompetent gov. is when in placed in charge of medical care. It is propaganda, and by no means unstopable. Most of the loosers claimig to make millions off medicare in the interviews dont look like they can afford a house. it's complete media bullshit. Is there fraud...sure ...but not the kind they claim, they just want to put the fear out ..that gov. run health care would be disastrous.. .for insurance companies that is.

  • @dangermous1968 NO !!! the proganda is what the republicans & rightwinger medias are feeding you. they are on the side of these big insurance companies. i can't forget to add those democrates who are starting to true just as evil as the republicans. you are very misinformed about the healthcare bill.

  • @unelmitchell U truly are a lost soul. God bless u. I hope you and those like you don't ever get what you think you need. Keep drinking the socialist koolaid, I've got a country to save. I'll be praying for u.

  • @EJsigstrat god bless you but you are drinking the NeoCon Koolaid. i will also pray for you as well !!!

  • @EJsigstrat not as lost as u are listening to those Neo Con racist Nazis, who lie just about everything, even the public Option.the republican party r brought and sold by the lobbist to make u & your teabagger look very stupid.u truly need to do your reach search to see who is sponsoring these tea parties. its the insurance companies that have paid the republicans & blue dog democrates off.u r very misformed u really need to stop listening to conservative media. god bless. also i am independent

  • @unelmitchell God bless u, but I hope you and those like you don't ever get what you think you need. Please, quit drinking the socialist koolaid you all seem to love without actually reading the label. Read some history and learn what this country is about. Many men fought and died for something you'd relinquish. This isn't about healthcare. It's about freedom. You can't imagine how the government will literally rule your life. Don't you understand? Man, it's simple. Open your mind.

  • Aren't you forced into the public option if you don't have health insurance? I heard you are, and I heard it is unaffordable, especially for those who have no insurance right now.

  • @KamWhitakay I'm not sure but I think that was a different solution. It was called mandatory coverage or something, and the idea was that if people were forced to get insurance, more people would be paying, which would in turn lower the cost for everyone. The public option was pretty much just what the video described, which was health insurance run by the government, but paid for by its customers. There would be no profit incentive, so price would be cheaper

  • @13lackLight I don't believe the government has the right to fine me for not having insurance. I don't like them asking for my papers. I seem to remember the constitution saying something about my papers being secure from unreasonable search.

  • thanks for the info ...it makes a valid point !!!

  • Robert Reich is right on! How can it be any simpler or more practical?

  • im so upset right now about the public option its not even funny its like they dont even want it out of the bag are something main stream news is now ignoring it no news about back room deals nothing its like this thing is afk are something i think both party's are now not being herd we want a public option and the other party dose not want this to pass so who are the dems listening to ? there ignoring there own base even no one is happy with this bill due to this missing. who killed it ?

  • Democratic Party Heath Care bill doesn't have Public Option. Instead it is forcing you to pay insurance companies and threatening you with jail time if you don't. For fuck's sake please don't vote for this god damn turd of a bill. Every politician who votes for this bill is a fascist. No if, buts & maybes. Fascism has come to America.

  • @saper321

That's the problem ...The bill has some good things like making it illegal for insurance companies to discriminate because of pre-existing conditions...BUT to force us to buy there product ticks me off....The current bill was written by the insurance companies because it's gonna give them MILLIONS of more customers..THAT"S why so many
