  • I was lucky enough to attend a workshop that rajaton did near where I live it was amazing.this is a beautiful song and anyone who doesn't think so either doesn't know good music or was crying so much because of the song that they missed the like button

  • The late great flute player Frankie Kennedy with Altan was the first to put these two tunes together in this way. Only the first tune, a slow air, is actually called Dobbin's Flowery Vale. There are lyrics to it--it's a traditional Irish song from County Armagh. The second tune is a reel played at a slow tempo that's known by several names, including Eddie Moloney's Favorite and The Drogheda Lasses. I hope Rajaton gives Altan credit for the arrangement.

  • Woah... who needs drugs and alcohol when you can just listen to this song...

  • @mothaOmess Well you could listen to it with drugs and alcohol... maybe it would be even more superlative... which is, i realize, oxymoronic

  • @MicrophoneAssassin13 Um... No T_T

  • Those people who dislike this video do not know how to appreciate the beauty of this song

  • I listened to this song in Vocal class because we were detirming and picking out notes and stuf like that. The first time I heard it, it just sounds so beautiful. I always forget that theres no instruments, because the guys just do the bass so well.

Everytime I hear it, I get chills, like right now.

They seriously, do an amazing job. <33

  • imagine this: 0:00 a woman walks into a grave yard bring a flower for her lost love. she sing in her man's grave up to 1:58. then the heaven opens at 2:00 to 2:07. after that she see her man climbing down from the sky. at 2:08 the man sing(with the angels) to comfort his love. then at 2:55 the lady said the she can't live w/o the man but at 3:14 they hug and sing together. but at 3:45 it's time for the man to leave. while she is singing he said:" don't worry" at 3:50. then dey say goodby @ 4:02

  • This song is beautiful in the way the serifs on calligraphy are beautiful - simple and expressive, yet soulful and nuanced by the pure humanity of it. It's so silky and elegant . . . mind blown.

  • The colours fluxuating reminds me of my first intense DMT break through.... omg.

  • @Escape126 I was gonna yell at you for the stupidness of that, but ehh, DMT is actually the best of choices for drugs so whatever. Sill not all too smart though.

  • @bibsa1 :O You get to do a workshop with Rajaton?! UNFAIR! I absolutely would love to. I'm performing Butterfly on sunday night. How did you manage to arrange that?

  • I know! I'm not exactly sure how they [our conductor and the choral association] arranged it, but I know that we're extremely lucky to get to work with such talented performers. Butterfly is an AMAZING song. It's probably my favourite.

  • Umbracaseus you did a beautiful job of capturing the music in movement :)

  • This almost made me cry. So beautiful.

  • I can still remember the first time I heard this song. At 2:04 when all of their voices open to this beautiful harmonious crescendo, and then at 2:09 when a smooth, milky male voice takes the lead. I was stunned and mesmerized. Absolutely amazing.

  • It's so beautiful.

  • Which publisher sells Rajaton sheet music? I am in an advanced vocal ensemble and I would like to acquire sheet music by the group.

  • this is a stellar song. I LOVE RAJATON!!

  • This sounds like an adaptation of the instrumental version recorded by Altan, with the flute of Frankie Kennedy. That's why it does not sound like the common folk versions (as lorgain2 commented.) But I like this idea, especially that they sung without words. I do not think they overused or abused anything, as long as there were proper credits to the authors of this arrangement on their own CD. I really enjoyed this, anyway, more than usual non-Irish performances of Irish music...

  • wowowow

  • i love this song, i am in a chamber choir and i sing the male solo in the song, it sounds nice lol

  • This sounds pretty

  • I fell in love with this song first time I heard it. My choir is singing it. I could sing this song for the rest of my life.

  • WOOO FINLAND!

  • awesome! i totally adore them <3

  • the last chord makes me melt

  • Go to lorgain2 for the original song, nothing like this.

  • ...never have nonsense syllables sounded so inspiring.

  • Our audition choir at school did this song last year! Usually on here, when I mention them, its to say that we did it better...however, no matter how good it sounded when we did it, Rajaton just did it better! That was amazing!

  • omg this song is so beuftiful i was listening to it in class for the first song and it was so beautiful it actually bruoght me to tears

    wow

  • its amazing they have no music, its just their voices

  • I love this song and this version is very good, but maybe someone should post the one in their cd out of bounds, it has cleaner sound

  • No one can compare to Rajaton.

    They're wonderful.
