This game was tiiiiiiiiight but it needed to be about 20 times more detailed. It got extremely boring just doing kill mission after kill mission, or doing the same static trade routes forever with NPCs hogging the queue to dock in front of you or being interrupted by pirates that can never be eradicated. The mining took forever, the master server requirement was ridiculous, and the ships could have used more customization (like, on the level of EVE).

@boredoutofmymind240 There is a mod called "Discovery Freelancer" that still has a decent community. I don't know about the other mods but the main server is full allmost every night. Maybe you should check it out :)

PS: It's a Roleplaying server so if you're looking for a nice place to shoot and stuff... you should look at another server, ofc it has some pew pew too but less pew pew and moar rp :D

@MeetrioX Ok, so I reinstalled the game and everything. But I can't even see the surface of some planets! Like for example Manhattan had it's blue ocean, some atmosphere and clouds but where the continents would be, they are not there. It's actually invisible and you can see "through" the planet. FL did bring up that the game did not recognize my graphics card. I'm using a Radeon HD 4850. Could it be that FL is just too old to take in my GPU??

@jqube2 You CAN play Freelancer as an MMO. Just install the fllistserver addon and click [Multiplayer]. You'll see about a hundred servers ready to play on, if you have the mod that is.

You know where the Hispania is right (all of you should know at the back of your head especially if your'e an Outcast)- I bet you didn't know you can actually get in the sleeper ship.. there are three openings; one at the tip, one at the end and one at the side. When you are in it you can vaguely see the cryogenic capsules that was seen at the opening intro :) Try it^^

Shields restore way too fast for me to really damage a ship without spamming rockets. All I can do is hope the AI follows a straight line long enough for me to get the shields down halfway, then spam missiles while other enemies gang up on my ass and kill me.

The mod is called Itano Circus. Spamming missiles is the whole point. I personally equip both a standard missile and micro missile. Guns + a standard missile + 5 or so micro-missiles will bring down a ship quick.

Not only replaceed the original missiles and the tail smoke of missiles but also greatly increased the speed of combat. The original speed is too slow and not exciting at all. This mod also highly enhanced AI and their weapon. Each of them uses missiles without consideration. It increased the frequency of conflict between factions, too. I hope the author is still developing this mod. Maybe the models can be replaced by real macross fighter models. Original fighter model looks ugly.

If you mean it crashes on startup of Freelancer, then this is a mod save file issue. Sometimes mods will create save files that create conflicts with other mods, even Vanilla Freelancer.

In FLMM, press Ctrl-S to go to the folder where all the save files are. Once there, delete both the "autosave.fl" and the "restart.fl".
