  • AWESOME- MISS YOU BRENT.

  • the dead just went downhill after brent died, RIP. no one fucking tear's it up like brent did.

  • @robmadore1 IT would have went downhilll regardless as I think Jerry had hit his limit. I'm pretty sure he was going to leave the band after the 95 tour. And you know how that goes. When something that significant comes on, it's been coming. It wasn't a instant thing. Most likely when it became a issue of money and pressure. That I'm sure killed it for him. In part due to his addictions. Money and pressure means less time using.

  • too me brent was there best keyboardist i mean besides maybe bruce but i always loved brent

  • Was there. Probably my favorite version of the song ever performed. Brent is so underrated it's ridiculous!

  • its only one- but how the FUCK could someone "dislike" this ?

Wow man I had the hairs on my arms, neck and back standin on end at parts.. !

  • Brent was just what the band needed after Keith, Keith ticked those lil ivories like nobodies business, but Brent was a nice segue into what was to come electronically/musically. They both have a sweet spot in my soul, and both still give me shivers and make my eyes well up, sometimes at the same time....

  • what do ya think your rib cage is a fucking jail cell mama!!!!!!

  • If Brent doesn't give you the chills, then you're dead.

  • Brent was awsome! After he died no could come close to filling those shoes.Ever tried to sing like Brent? Vince/? give me a break sounded like he was playing an organ grinder. Personally I loved the Brent years and I have seen enough shows to know.

  • Jerry gettin down,, glad they extended

  • watching Jerry's reaction to this song, how psyched he was, how psyched he was on Brent pretty much summarizes the awesomness of 80's and 90 dead. I miss jerry AND brent

  • how some fans say they dont like or ignore the "Brent era" is beyond me...happy NEW YEAR everyone

    love,Mikey

  • @EvacuateTrailer whoever said that??? I always loved this era.... always and a day!

  • @EvacuateTrailer I see these people all the time. They just can't adapt to change. Sure Keith was great in his own way, but it was more of a technical Bach sort of way. Brent has more feeling in one keystroke than Keith could cough up in a whole show. Plus he took all the asshole heads shit. Well, we can say this. Brent did more shows with the band than anybody in the slot. And he took on more than anybody but Pig. I miss him greatly.

  • thank you for the posting...this song got me through a real hard divorce....real love gone to shit....but this song helps me see it in a different light...

  • @happyirish65

Wow ...so true , so true in my life as well. Thanks for sharing that

  • Thanks for sharing, so where I'm at right now!

  • such an underrated tune....

  • there was no way I would have said this is a grateful dead song if i had heard this in the radio! wow! just wow! every song they play is so alive so deep so awesome!

If, say, all the grateful dead members would split up and start their own band! then each of these band would be so awesome! so if u reverse it it's like saying, "the band 1967" (random year btw) is a band which consists of members like Hendrix, Clapton, J Lennon, and u name it! damn

  • LOVEFIST>>>DEEP INSIDE, NICE BRENT U GOT URSELF OUT OF THAT ONE>>>> DEEP IN UR HEART THEN PUT FIST IN AIR>>> GOOD SAVE...PHEWWWW!!! CLOSE ONE

  • I love how Brett's keyboards call out to Jerry's solo at 2:56, begging, "Jerry, play the passion, brother." Jerry's glance is then echoed in his guitar work. Perfection blended with passion, that is/was the Grateful Dead!

  • was at this show....great times...thanks for helping me out...

  • Best wishes to all from Less Than Face Productions.

  • I was at this show

  • brent is god. one soulful whiteboy thats for damn sure. dude he's just letting it all out. i love how intense his raps are. to anyone that questions brents importance in the dead and questions who the best keyboardist of the dead was. watch this whole video. you will quickly change your mind. this is just one of many great brent performances that we will look back on like we are now with aw. this doesnt happen anymore. with any band. RIP BRENT.

  • I was at this show.....Blow Away was always a good first set closer.....

  • Just Amazing really Blew me away when I saw Brent belt this out. 3 times I might ad

  • I just found out the other day e was in brent dam. that's funny, e was like see ya phil

  • Love it. Love Brent. Love the passion.

  • I love how whoever filmed it doesn't show brent when they should be showing brent.

  • This version's an all time favorite! It's a treat to see some video of this. Many years ago now like '99 ish I would invite some friends over after work for a session and i would put on this version of this song. Even though none of them were into the Dead they were diggin this song! Not to say they didn't like other Dead tunes i put on but this became a staple in our hang out sessions. One time one of the guys did what brent said and put his fist in the air etc. then we all had to do it lol!

  • @alewish3 ,

its kinda funny i just got done reading the message you posted like two minutes before brent said it made me laugh and of course i couldnt resist doin it ! lol

  • Oh our poor Brent! He was in some pain man! His years with the Grateful Dead are the best ones!!!

  • I just played the album built to last today after being in my cd case after about 1 year. wow, the memories. great song.

  • This is about as good as it gets!!
