In 1997 she underwent surgery to remove non-cancerous nodules from her throat and was left unable to sing. Her voice has been damaged ever since. If you type in youtube: Julie andrews Je Suis Titania you'll see her singing at age 12.. She was able to sing such high octaves!

@xMusicstar98 So sad, when I knew what those doctors made to her voice I cried a lot. Now I have nodules too and I'm terrified to have them removed so I live with teas, TONS of water, humidifiers, vocal rest and sprays :( :(

Julie Andrews is my all time favorite singers.... My favorite movies by her are Victor/Victoria,The Sound of Music,The Princess Diaries 1&2,Mary Poppins... What she is doing now is what she calls TalkSinging.... Her voice is to me was that of an Angel singing from the Heavens but, know matter what I still love to her her now and forever......

I think she's the best singer ever!!!! Plus a totally amazing actress. The Sound of Music is my all-time favourite musical, probably my fave movie too. Her voice had a very different quality since that operation that went wrong, but it's great that she can still sing!

She's speaking more than she's singing, if you listen carefully to it - she has a very melodious speaking voice so it helps, but compared to the huge range she had before it's nothing. Still, even post-surgery she can sing a whole lot better than a lot of people can!

well yea appearantly her vocal chords healed up and her voice was still a nice voice but not as nice as it used to be. if she kept on doing her singing carrier a lot of people would've been dissapointed by the loss of her magical high notes
