I wrote back and forth with you almost a year ago about my son and I putting a N* in a 52 Chevy PU. We're ready to start. We have friends we're going to see in Powdersville,SC in the next little bit, would there be a chance of stopping in and looking at your set up on the way? Thanks, Barry and Son.
Thanks pimp, I got my engine out right now . The turbo and nitrous blew the rings out of the old one, Too much blow by. Oil leaking every where!! I built me a new one with performance cams and a good port and polish on the heads. I looked at your build and its pretty neat. Exactly what engine is that and what computer system are you going to use?
thanks. ive got a 1uzfe Lexus V8 (four litre quad cam) and it will get a Link ECU (its an NZ product, pretty popular down under but im not sure if they're so well known or available in north america). i look forward to videos of it after the rebuild, it sounds like it will be fast! :)
nice truck, looks like it goes really well! im also building a mid engined turbo v8 powered mazda truck, but a bit different, which ive got some videos of the build that is in progress. ive just found this and think we might be the only people who have done conversions like this to mazda minitrucks?
I have a 1993 Cadillac STS that i am turbo charging and i have been having some trouble figuring out exactly what is nessecary as far as the pcm goes, if you could lead me in the right direction as far as what it takes or who i can go to to get my ls1 pcm programmed correctly. and what other things were nessecary in the build up to make this turbo work that would be awesome. there is not alot of support or people with knowledge out there on these so if you could lend

It Was a 1996 Cadillac Sedan Deville. I have since added a 100HP shot of Nitrous to it since I made the video. It doesnt spin comming of the line now but it waits till about 60 or 70 feet and then lights up the tires. This thing is bad fast now. I have built a new engine with ported and polished heads and 4 new performance cams. I cant wait to see what it will do when I have time to install it.. Probably another 200HP or more I would guess.
Yea man I'll give you all the info you need. Just tell me whats on your mind and I'll help all I can. This thing is really fun to play with. I love it !!!!!
i hope you did a headstud or timesert job on the block, because with 9psi of boost it is only a matter of time until the headbolts pull from the block.
I cranked the boost up to 15lbs and she's still together !!!! Its bone stock and has never been torn down before. I'd agree with you if it had ever been torn down before. Pulling the bolts out for the first time is usually what strips them out.
Dude that is awesome!!! I like the Northstar engine when they run right they are badass!!! But being a Mechanic I see alot that don't!! You have done something that I have dreamed of... but it was in a Pontiac Fiero... I don't care what it looks like you did a great job! ! ! LOVE IT !! SOUND GREAT....
Seems like there's a little power lag before the engine revs up, are you still using the 4T80 transmission from the stock caddy? I own a 1998 Deville and I know your acceleration can be much quicker especially with a turbo.
Not too many people know how hard it is to swap a Northstar engine into another car, not to mention it is turboed. Good job man and post new vids when the rig is bug-free!
Yes Im still using the 4T80E tranny. Im shifting it with a stand alone PCM though. Im using a modified LS1 ECM from a chevy camaro for the engine. The lag is from the turbo but Im working on that right now. I've got a 2800 stall converter Im going to put in hoping thats going to get rid of the lag. Just gotta hit the sweet spot I guess. And yes the turbo definitely gives it a lot of UMP !!!!!!!! Thanks for the comment Steve
Yea man, sure you can come by. I'll see you when you get here.

@mazda1949 You are going to have a screamer on your hands... I have one running south with a 700r4 in a '52 chevy hardtop. It's fast and smoothe.
Good luck!
