Nobody in American cared about this, from what it seemed. 60% of New Yorkers didn't want NY to host the city. New York's metropolitan area is twice that of London's, it would have been a real bitch to do it especially with all the controversy over the West Side Stadium and overcrowding. Publicity wise, NYC would have utterly dominated every other city. New York City is the greatest city in the world. The Olympics would have just been another nice-to-have-that's-OK-if-we-d­on't-get-it attraction
