Wouldn't a few sets of piano hinges or such be more durable?

I like that it folds to the relative size of a surf board. Provision for some sort of quick sail would be nice.

The only thing that concerns me is the use of fishing line for hinges. I would think that the constant rubbing against the wood would cause them to eventually break. Again, beautiful job!
