sorry, dude, i don't like the whole out of tune classical guitar strumming chords thing. record it again with in-tune steel strings if you want to do this sort of thing. buy a cheap epiphone or something.
...which voice suits the taste of the public or something like that - I personally like the nasal, like Placebo or do you remember "Teenage Dirtbag"? that is pure nasal singing... I adore it, am I alone? but oh well, I accept the criticism on that anyways, but possibly I'm gonna torment your ears with some other nasal song anyways ;-)
It's interesting how much the comments for each individual song deviate from each other... I've heard every single thing between "butchering", sounding like stewie from family guy and that I should sing Blues or something, because of a deeper voice (Drifting Away)... clearly irreconcilable categories aren't they? ;-) or "you should join "German Popstar" (Ohne Dich) and so on... I guess it's a good way to find out which voice actually suits me, or more correctly...
dude i thought u gave it ur best and u have guts and i admire u for posting this video knowing u were gonna get some rude comments keep up the guitar playn but not the singing or jst get some vocal lessons i dnt even know but good luck
u ever saw the episode of family guy when stewie can't say "cool whip" sounds like your singing like... different twist on the song, works alrite,,, better than i could do i suppose
You sound like your trying to hard, and putting a twang in your voice dont sound right doesnt suit the song mate and keep the normal chord it sounds shit with your 'different chord'
got ya, well, at the beginning I didn't get into it perfectly, true, however I feel that the rest is not like trying too hard - some of it is due to the crappy digicam I've recorded with, you should see the lil mic, dude! ;-) with louder&higher tones it tends to overmodulate (you can perceive it if you listen closely) but it's still better than I expected... about the twang, I intentionally or more exactly naturally have that nasal sound in the voice
(2) It is a typical feature which I very much like in many songs by Death Cab, Placebo or bands like that; this is also just part of my voice & style :-)
which version do you refer to saying it doesn't suit the song? Iron&Wine? you're definitely right! however this is NOT my favorite version, how bout Ben Gibbard, who wrote that song? He does have a very nasal voice, that's why I love it - check out his live versions of that song! Then you'll have a different picture...
