Ms. Saariaho's music is mysterious but always engrossing. Congratulations to Ms. Giulianelli for a wonderful performance. Thank you for posting this video!

I'm understanding that material and trope used helps the music formally develop maybe without the use of older European forms . Saariaho is a fine exponent of the possibilities of writing for solo instruments! this piece said more to me than some others but I will go back and listen . Much can be learned from this woman!
